Better graphics, better lens, better resolution. Proper IPD adjustments. The stock facial interface is kinda uncomfortable and leaves a large gap around the nose but its nothing an after market one wont fix. Oh! And for mixed reality, it’s a really cool tech demo but any games that use it kinda feel either incomplete or gimmicky.

Great piece of tech. The Quest lineup is finally capable of producing genuinely good looking visuals without the need for a PC. I've always been a PCVR user, but this has shifted my mentality that a PC is required for honestly stunning visuals (in Red Matter 2 especially). I even use it as a virtual office for a few hours each day, though it's still not comfortable enough for all day use. The lenses are extremely clear, and it's hard to overstate how much more convincing the virtual world is when it's so sharp and clear across the whole field of view of the headset. It's miles better than the Quest 2. I have to take off a star for comfort and battery life. The stock strap is simply bad. It is not just below average, it's unacceptable. It's like having metal folding chairs at your nice dinner table. The battery life also seems to be a bit worse than the Quest 2. It's hard to fault Meta. If you want more power, that costs more electricity, and they've already increased the battery capacity. But just be aware that your gaming sessions will be 2 hours or less unless you have external power either from the wall or another battery.

It is fairly pricey when compared to the Quest 2, but there are a number of features which help justify it. The better lenses, better pass-through cam, inclusion of a depth sensor, better processor, and better display resolution. There are a few catches though. Unfortunately the heightened price does not get you better battery life which is by far one of the biggest issues I have with this product. I managed to record an average of 1 hour and 22 minutes of use when using the headset for VR plugged into my computer. This means if you’re looking to use this product for extended sessions, you WILL NEED a battery bank of some sort to help supplement the lacking battery inside the headset. Additionally, while the head strap included isn’t completely unusable, it is uncomfortable (especially after roughly an hour of use). The controllers are fine, they use AA batteries by default, but the battery life the controllers get out of that is quite long. I’ve been using my headset daily since October 10th, 2023, and as I’m writing this, my controllers still indicate at least above 75% as they show 4 out of 4 dots for the power LEDs

    Great All-in-one Standalone VR Headset

This headset is a great all-in-one standalone VR headset. As others mentioned, the passthrough is not jaw-dropping quality. There is plenty of room to grow, some of which can come from software updates, and some of which might not. However, the key thing here, is that it's good enough for most purposes. And more importantly, most other aspects of this headset are actually great: - The new pancake lenses are super clear. A much larger sweet spot and less blur/god rays, not to mention the increased FOV they provide. - The better processor allows responsiveness and performance to be best in class. - The closer center of gravity makes it feel a lot lighter. - The passthrough is definitely at the point where I've been wanting to use my headset more often to browse while doing other daily activities. - The reintroduced IPD slider allows more people to comfortably wear this headset with clearer images. $500 may seem like a steep price, and don't get me wrong, it really is. However, if you really think about what you're purchasing here - a device that can be a console, computer, and tv, all in one device - then the price starts to seem more reasonable. This is especially true when you start to realize that this headset can be used in many more situations due to the improved passthrough: i.e. not having to take it off to move from one place to the other. The only gripe I have with this headset is I wish it had a better battery life. 2 hours seems a bit low, but I suppose with the smaller form factor and more power-hungry processor, it does make sense. Fortunately this is a problem that should be able to be fixed with some aftermarket straps that come with replaceable external batteries, so it is what it is. All in all, I think this headset is a great improvement from the previous Quests, and anybody who is coming into VR with this headset is lucky and will have a great time.

The quest 3 is a price hike from quest 2, however, I think it's worth the extra $. This is the first AR headset at a price regular consumers can try. I am pleasantly surprised by the AR. It's true the passthrough camera can be grainy in low light and monitor cannot be far away or else text is ineligible, but when engaged in an ar game, you won't be noticing the graininess. Plus, now there is no need to remove headset when looking at phone. The pancake lens also reduced ghosting and has larger sweetspot. One thing I noticed is that I do see the sides of inside of the lens due to the way my face is shaped i guess. I also think the comfort is much improved but getting an elite ish headset will make it better.

the quest 3 is a banger when it comes to stand alone vr and using it paired with my pc is even better when it comes to graphics and performance. the mixed reality works great but you have to have good lighting and there are not many mixed reality games out on the quest platform that seem fun yet, but other than that the color pass through and depth sensors makes drinking water and checking my phone much easier, and the pancake lenses paired with the new processing chip really makes stand alone games look and feel way better than the quest 2 like gorilla tag, into the radius, bonelab, saints and sinners, and half life alyx. if you have a quest 2 and your looking for a higher end headset but you also don’t have a pc and dont want to spend like a $2500 minimum on smooth moving detailed vr than the quest 3 may be the headset for you.

I upgraded from the Quest 2 due to my own negligence leading to sun damage on the lens. I am satisfied with the upgrade and overall replacement of the previous Quest 2 as the Quest 3 is essentially a hardware upgrade that brings a noticeable performance increase to most games, if not all. The controllers are designed and made better. The headset overall is smaller and hangs over much less when mounted on your head. The only things that are different from the Quest 2 that I do not see as an improvement is the head strap, it is either of less quality than the last design and make or it is less intuitive in so far as achieving the most comfortable way to wear it.

I bought this for use in flight sims like DCS and IL-2 on PC. Just gonna cut to the chase if you have a quest 2, or no VR, get this its great. HOWEVER, be warned that the battery life is abysmal, and (on my system: AsRock x670e Steel Legend, 7900x3d, 3080ti) the quest 3 does not charge over the official link cable as efficiently as the quest 2 did using the USB C connection on the motherboard. With the Quest 2, I was able to play indefinitely plugged into my PC. With the Quest 3, the battery life is ever so slightly extended, but still runs out relatively quickly. Going to have to shell out the additional $130 for the elite strap unless a firmware update or something can fix the battery life.

I recently purchased the Meta Quest 3 VR headset, and it has completely transformed my gaming and entertainment experiences. I can confidently say that this headset deserves every one of its five stars and more. First and foremost, the Meta Quest 3's untethered design is a game-changer. No more tripping over cables or being confined to a limited space. The freedom to move and explore virtual worlds without any restrictions is exhilarating. Set up is a breeze, and you can jump into your favorite VR experiences in minutes. The visual quality of the Meta Quest 3 is stunning. The high-resolution display, combined with the improved optics, makes everything look incredibly lifelike. Whether you're immersed in a breathtaking landscape or battling fierce enemies, the clarity and vibrant colors are a feast for the eyes. The enhanced refresh rate ensures smooth, nausea-free gameplay. Comfort is also a top priority with this headset. The redesigned ergonomic strap and lightweight construction make long gaming sessions a joy. The built-in audio speakers provide excellent sound quality, and the ability to plug in your headphones when you need that extra immersion is a thoughtful touch. The Meta Quest 3 boasts an extensive library of games and apps, making it versatile for both gamers and those seeking educational and social experiences. The intuitive user interface and the impressive hand-tracking capabilities only add to the overall enjoyment. The addition of hand tracking takes immersion to another level, allowing for more natural and interactive experiences. I'm also impressed with the battery life. I can game for hours without worrying about the headset dying on me. Plus, the headset charges quickly, so I'm back in the action in no time. The Meta Quest 3 truly bridges the gap between virtual reality and reality. It's not just a gaming device; it's a portal to new worlds, experiences, and possibilities. It's a testament to the amazing advancements in VR technology. In conclusion, the Meta Quest 3 VR headset is an exceptional piece of technology. Meta finally got it right! I had multiple headsets throughout the years and this one finally hits the spot for me. The resolution is fantastic, the FOV has expanded, the screen door effect is almost completely gone, and the brightness has dramatically increased. The addition of mixed reality is absolutely mind-bending. Meditating in Tripp inside my "Sanctum" is just awe-inspiring. Or playing puzzling places while watching football in mixed reality is beyond description. You have to experience this for yourself. Also, I highly recommend mini golf. What a fantastic game. The days of motion sickness are finally gone. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up. The future is here...Now!

I returned the Quest 2 due to an early flaw (fan died) and upgraded to this. I was already getting tons of time out of the Quest 2, the Quest 3 is a measurable upgrade a In almost every way. The face shield is very comfortable, but have a cloth like texture so if you're sweating, it's not great for multiple users or taking it of and putting back on a cold sweaty face shield. The head strap is also miles better than the stock one on the Quest 2, but not great for larger heads. There are a flood of aftermarket face shields and head straps that easily remedy these 2 issues. Overall really satisfied with it and getting my money's worth.

First off, I'll say that i just got this and am still testing. But so far, I am super impressed. I own an original vive that I bought day 1 and then i got a reverb g2 that I have been using until the quest 3. Both if my previous headsets were corded, limited to one area of the house, and a pain to setup and use when I wanted to play. I was using light houses as well on the reverb g2 so that I could still use my better tracking vive wands. All of it was limiting and a pain which made me end up not playing. The Quest 3 was the solution I had been waiting for! Being able to do room setup in headset quick and easy is a dream come true. I was skeptical about the wireless capability for pcvr as well but I am blown away at how well it has worked so far. I've been able to play pcvr games anywhere in my house which is amazing. The pancake lenses are so much better than the fresnek lenses also. I wear glasses, and the quest 3 works well with my glasses out of the box, although I do want to get some lens inserts later. Everything seems very polished with a minimal amount of bugs. The AR pass through which it is somewhat grainy and not super clear, it's fun and works very well. The sound is pretty amazing also for the type do speakers it has.. Not enough bass in beatsaber and it can't compare to the g2 style of speakers but very impressive for what they are. Controllers feel nice and not cheap, track well, battery life on the controllers is good. The headset itself looks and feels pretty good. I think they should have put a nose flap on it because the only place I have lightleak is at the bottom of the nose area. The strap of course is everyone's gripe.. Yes, it isn't great.. But tbh it isn't as uncomfortable as what everyone keeps saying to me. It works but it just isn't the best. My one issue, aside from this being released by a company I don't like, is that they want to nickle and dime everyone for things that they should have included with the headset or to fix issues with the headset. The headset battery life is about 2 hours. That isn't long... So they sell an overpriced better elite headstrap with an extra battery to extend it to 4 hours I think. Fixes two issues by making you pay more money. Fortunately, there are plenty of aftermarket options for battery extenders and straps that are cheaper, so you don't have to spend more money on meta's overpriced accessories. I've seen reports of people getting headsets with dead pixels and there being quality control issues... So far I haven't noticed any dead pixels.. Im a stickler for that stuff cause my vive had a dead pixel and it always bothered me. I'll be checking closely to make sure the quest 3 is good. I was going to take one star off for meta nickle and diming but the headset is so good that I won't do that as of now. This may change later but it's simply the best, most versatile, most polished VR headset you can get right now for this price. I guess they kept the price down by giving a crappy strap, smaller battery, etc.

The Meta quest 3 is like upgrading from a Xbox one to a series s. For battery complaints, turn off the 120 hz in settings. You’re trading battery life for better quality picture, so you still have that option if you want super high quality picture. Even with it off the visuals are amazing, the controllers to the default head strap are a major step up from the quest 2. The mixed reality on some games genuinely is impressive. I love being able to play a boxing game, and not smack my tv since I can see my actual living room. If you’re looking for a top tier headset that isn’t a thousand dollars this is the only one on the market and it is amazing.

I've had the original Oculus Rift, the Quest 1, Quest 2, and now the Quest 3. It's finally clear! The new lens system is such a huge difference especially with the mixed reality features and apps. VR/MR is finally polished enough at this price, to become mainstream. Being able to clearly read everything and watch videos that don't look blurry, has been game changing for me. I finally feel comfortable enough to use it long-term. And even feel like I could work in it. I'd still get a different strap for more comfort, but the included strap is good enough for light usage with how much thinner the actual device is. Even though it's slightly heavier than the Quest 2, it feels lighter because the center of mass has moved closer to your head. Having said that, if you have a Quest 2 and are happy with the image quality, you don't need to buy this right away. There aren't too many apps that use MR or the new hand tracking. They will come, but right now there isn't much. But the image quality is so much better and the sweet spot is huge, so it's still worth the upgrade to me.
