Nice step up from Original Oculus

Coming from the original Oculus, this was a nice step up. We have the quest 2 in our house and got to use those to compare to the quest 3. The passthrough is worlds better. The lenses are definitely better, wasn't a huge fan of the fresnel lens on the quest 2. The new pancake lenses are much better. The only thing that would really make the quest 3 better than some of the others out there, would be the use of an oled screen, instead of lcd. The price is a little high for what it is, especially if you want to add the warranty. You are looking at over $600 then.

Very nice VR Headset and much improved from the Meta Quest 2. The front facing cameras are a great addition to the headset. It'll need a new headstrap and extended battery purchase.

I seriously love this headset. If you have any reservation , dont. Just go buy one already. The quest 3 is slimmer, lighter, and definitely more powerful than the previous itteration. Tracking works extremely well. Resolution is way higher than the 2, everything ive played natively on the 3 looks fantastic. PCVR works incresibly well over 5ghz and virtual desktop. Just a great piece of tech…not quite the future of VR but getting closer.

As expected with better lens and overall performance. I upgraded from a quest 2 and the change was evident. Worth the price. However the battery life could be better

Big upgrade from the Quest 2. Resolution is a lot better and less glitches. Battery still gets used up fast, however buy one of those add on batteries that go around your neck like I did to solve that problem. I now get close to 6 hours of use. They have come a long way with virtual reality and this thing is really worth the price.

    Great Tech - Greedy Marketing

The headset is magnificent. The marketing is deplorable. Headset is 5-stars but the fact Meta "forces" you to buy overpriced accessories to replace the cheap crap in the box is not cool. Even $150 to go with 512GB version seems a bit predatory. The AR (augmented reality) stuff is still in its infancy. LEGO Builder is cool but I play VR to escape my reality. Having it showing in my visor with swimmy LCD graphics is pointless for now. Hopefully they figure out some better uses for AR. The biggest improvement is comfort. Quest 2 was a crown of thorns compared to Quest 3. This is like a fluffy cloud resting on my face IF you have the Elite Strap. Last but not least is the battery which MIGHT last 2 hours if you're lucky. Thankfully, my home theater recliner has USB so I can stay powered for seated games but once I stand up for Beat Saber or Synth Riders the countdown begins. More powerful games like Assassin's Creed NEXUS drains a full battery in 90min. The best thing about the Quest 3 is that is has driven the price of Quest 2 back down to reasonable, and if you don't care about the future of AR the Q2 is probably for you.

This VR is AMAZING!!! Its light and graphics are so smooth! I don’t like the face mask that sits on your face, it’s made out of cloth and holds sweat. They do sell a plastic version of the face mask. Other than that, it’s such a blast. They have plenty of games to choose from. My son is 8 and he absolutely loves gorilla tag. Would definitely buy another one.

Stunning graphics upgrade from the 2, much more comfortable, controllers are better, passthrough is amazing, wishing I would have purchased the model with more storage but that is my only complaint! If you've been wondering if you should make the plunge, don't hesitate, I wait forever to buy things until I read tons of reviews, hopefully this one helps because I'm upgrading the kids Quest 2's to 3's this weekend!

It’s pretty good, honestly I can’t really see the difference of weight from the quest 2, and I couldn’t really tell much of a difference in performance. Only thing that I really noticed was the new pass through with mixed reality was pretty neat but not necessarily game changer. The standard storage model was plenty for me. Another thing is if you plan on spending lots of time in it, I would buy a pro strap as the standard one can get uncomfortable very quickly. Overall it’s definitely worth the price for the specs and features offered, but if you already have a quest 2 I would hold off on buying it for now.

The clarity compared to previous occulus products is greatly improved. The games are affordable. Very immersive wether playing an intense game, or just relaxing watching 360°videos. The pass through augmented reality is very cool, but uses battery life faster, which is my only complaint. The battery life. I ordered a strap with a battery pack the first day I bought the quest.

Only bee a few weeks, but so far so great. Tons of free or sample content to get used to the devices. The mixed reality is awesome. Keeps you from walking into walls and furniture. The new version with your environment in color seems so real. The games we bought so far are quite fun and in some cases are a great workout. Looking forward to trying them for meetings, but haven’t yet.

The visuals are crisp, the tracking is precise, and the overall user experience is intuitive and enjoyable.

If you do not plan on using it with PC or wirelessly or wired or whatever... it is okay. The imaging is good, but it definitely is not as good as a system with base stations. Loses connection a lot as well. Battery life is very disappointing. 3 stars because the imaging was good. Other than that it lacks. Really hard to play when the entire screen jerks you out of immersion. You also have to put all kinds of accounts on here. Facebook, New Meta acct, instagram... it is bad! Then in order to remove your accounts from it? You have to go onto the website and delete the system completely. Which was fine, because I was returning this, but they make it very hard to do and to top it off there is nothing showing how to do it. Now, it isn't all bad, like I said the imaging was nice. Very clear lens, the pancake lenses are a great addition. When it worked, the games looked amazing... when it worked... when it wasn't stuttering or making the screen wave like the ocean. I don't get nauseous easily (I can eat on a spinning rollercoaster), but it almost got me. Another good thing is that it is small and portable. If you want the games bought at the META store that is. Which is lacking in its own right. But it is still portable. the headset is lighter than usual, but the straps on it are terrible. TERRIBLE... Buy a different headband for it. The controllers are nice. You have to buy the straps for them separately, but they are nice. For the amount you pay for this item, plus the items you have to buy to be able to use it properly, including needing a gaming WiFi 6 or above router; you might as well just buy a VR specifically for PC with base stations. Now, if you plan to only use META ever and use the portability option then great.

Everything in this feels the the begining of what this kind of technology will become. The passthrough is a great addition. Its bot executed perfectly but it really works for what its used for. The hand traking works ok, again not oerfectly but it feels like the begining of something great. There will hopefulmy be apps that are made that take better use of the new technology. Vr geneeally isnt for everyone. For me ill play beat saver for an hour or 2 at least once a week as some light cardio. There are other games im excited to try and play but having that kne thing that i know ill ise it for a lot helps to justify owning it. I also have my pc to use it with so that expands the possible games and applications i can use it with. A lot of people will buy cool thing and never pick it up but maybe once or twice a year. Buyers should definitely loom into things they will likely use it for repetedly if you dont want it to just collect dust. Its like nothing else youve experienced before if youve never tried vr so looking at possible uses for you is important.

Was a fun purchase, definitely a lot of improvements and advancements from the previous generation. Was smaller and sleeker and the new lens and additional controls helped increase the immersion. Battery life was decent for a casual player and I never found myself uncomfortable wearing the headset. The only grievance would have to be technical side of things as the store is still confusing to work with but all in all a must have as you can freely use the web, access your favorite streaming services and even music.

I personally use this headset for personal VR gaming on the computer. I have the really high specs for this and I am playing at max resolution on virtual desktop. Honestly, the visuals are way ahead of the quest two and weigh above my valve index. I use pro controllers for the quest three and it’s amazing to see how detailed and how accurate the quest three is in its sweet spot being the entire lens.

This is my first VR experience that I've bought for myself. I have to say that it really is amazing how it can fool your brain in situations. Like if you're standing on a ledge looking down, you know you're not in any kind of harm but your brain is screaming at you to step back! The visual clarity and fov is good. The passthrough could use an upgrade in my opinion. It's enough to see what's around you but it's like looking through an early 2000s camera phone. The biggest downfall for me is motion sickness.. Man I really needed to limit myself to small intervals at first and then work myself up to longer and longer. The first time I wore it for over an hour and felt I'll for probably 2 hours after! As far as productivity... Eh, you can do things in a browser type environment but it it's not going to speed anything up or make it easier or for that matter any more enjoyable. It's purely for entertainment imo. It's ok to watch movies but the sitting still for 2 hours with it on your head gets a little uncomfortable. Sure this can be fixed with a different strap. Overall it's fun, it's almost more fun to show family and friends to see there reaction!

I can see why virtual reality is becoming a big thing! Absolutely incredible system! However, unless you have friends to play with, I don’t think it’s going to jump to that next level. The graphics are fine, of course they are not up to par with Xbox, PlayStation, or a PC but, they are definitely on par with Nintendo switch graphics. The gaming library is pretty expansive and it seems to have something for everyone. Also, the games are pretty reasonably priced compared to other gaming consoles. I found the headset to be a very user-friendly experience and I’m 38 years old. However, because of my age, I’m more of an old-school gamer, where I enjoy sitting on the couch looking at my gaming console on the TV, playing with either someone right next to me, or one of my friends online. So for that reason, I returned my headset. I think the only negative things I would have to say is the strap itself isn’t very comfortable, but I know there are third-party companies that make a more comfortable strap. Also, the battery life sucks. I bought my headset brand new, and I couldn’t get it to last for more than two hours. Once again, there are battery packs and headsets that can be purchased that will extend the life.
