Dont expect the passthrough to be as good as you see from reviews. its not crystal clear, but it is an improvement. You can do alot in passthrough, but reading text messages is a sttretch, The pancake lenses are the biggest game changer, no more godrays! Worth the upgrade? idk 500 is a big leap just for some improvements. I sold my quest 2 for this so the jump wasnt too bad, but I also use it alot for watching shows and working out so for me it is. Just dont be fooled with Passthrough looking perfect in clips you see on social media

There is a need for more mixed reality titles but there are so many great titles from quest 2 and new titles for the 3 coming it makes this one of the best gaming machines period. No PC required, but if you have one with a good graphics card you can use that too. This version is so much better than Quest 2. Better res, pass through lead to great opportunities.

Truly an worthwhile upgrade from quest 2

I recently upgraded to the Meta Quest 3 from the Quest 2, and oh boy, what a difference! The visual clarity with the new lenses is nothing short of mesmerizing. I was immediately immersed in a way I hadn’t experienced before. The tracking is seamless, making gameplay feel intuitive and natural. I also dabbled in the AR features and was impressed with how it blended the digital with the real world. However, there’s a slight catch - the library of games and experiences still feels a bit limited given the hardware’s capabilities. I’m craving more content to truly unlock the potential of this device. The comfort and fit are top-notch, and I’ve had marathon gaming sessions with no discomfort. The price might be a tad steep for some, but if you’re serious about stepping into the future of VR, the Meta Quest 3 is undoubtedly a worthy investment. The promise of what VR and AR can offer is palpably felt with this device, and I’m excited to see where Meta takes us next!

    Amazing headset!

I purchased this headset as a PCVR headset only. When you update the beta software it works perfectly with the link cable. The clarity on this is amazing, I’ve had a valve index and I would say the clarity on this is even better. Not having base stations on my walls is huge! I really enjoy the headset tracking and over all it works really good! The tracking is perfect and works good with half-life alyx too. The setup is easy and is really straightforward the auto checking of your environment is pretty neat! It will automatically set your play area for you. Overall I’m satisfied with my purchase and would recommend the headset. My only complaint is the headset won’t do 120hz through the link cable which means all games only do 90hz with the link cable. It will support 120hz as a standalone not hooked up to a PC The standard strap it comes with is not comfortable it is worth it to purchase the meta branded headstrap. It’s pricey but makes this headset ideal!

The Meta Quest 3 offers impressive clarity, lighter design, and faster performance compared to previous models. Setup is simple, the mixed reality features are fun, and the library of games keeps growing. For the price, it’s one of the best standalone VR headsets you can get.

Would definitely recommend buying the Quest 3 if you are just getting into VR! It was my very furst standalone device and i haven't had any problems other than the original head strap being a little climb comfortable but they make it easy to switch these things out for 3rf oarty ones so its all good!!

There are many things that Quest 3 improves on. First, I use a katwalk (omnidirectional treadmill) and when I used the quest 2 it felt too dangerous to get on with the headset on but now I can with confidence. Basically the passthtough is great, but don't have too high of expectations. The passthrough can still be grainy and warped, but it is still amazing progress. I have yet to notice that the performance of the quest 3 is better than the quest 2. If you use PC VR then the quest 2 and 3 are almost equal, but if you are using the headset for productivity then go with the quest 3. If we exclude the amazing passthrough then the next best feature is that you can read with the quest 3 without massive eye strain. If you were going to use immersed or any other productive app then the quest 3 is really the only choice. Basically, the product is capable of functioning for work and play at a fraction of the cost of the quest pro.

The colored pass-through and mixed reality opportunitues were really why I upgraded. That and I realized my Quest 1 no longer supported the newer games. The graphics, lightness of the headset and pass-through have improved a lot. I’ve beem playing almost everyday, giving my PS5 and Xbox some R&R.

Mixed reality is fantastic! The new lenses are much better than on the Quest 2; no more losing focus every few minutes. The design makes the weight distribution so much better, for a much comfortable wear, especially for longer periods of time and games with a lot of movement. No fan attachment needed to alleviate fogging, either.

If your looking for a new gaming experience this is a great choice! Loads of apps with a variety of game styles. There is also some very utility apps for thing like painting or designing. Keep in mind you do need a whole room or a yard to play in. Highly recommend the head strap upgrade.

if you’re coming from the Meta Quest 2 like myself, then I would say it is a decent upgrade for those who will be spending a lot of time in VR. If you’ve kind of fell off the VR bandwagon and decided that you kind of want to try out this headset to see if it’ll get you back into it. don’t buy it. this is a minor upgrade with still an LCD display and even shorter battery life. Now this is something for enthusiast who want to experience the best possible VR in an all one experience, at the moment.

What can I say about it? Coming from a Quest 2, this piece of technology serves me wel when playing online or connecting it with my steam account. I enjoy the versatility of it and the light weight so my face doesn’t feel heavy. As a glasses user, it can sometimes shift around but overall is more comfortable than the quest 2.

Overall the qust 3 is definitely a fantastic headset and i think most people who want a vr headset this is the one to buy because overall the experience is amazing, now i do have a few negatives about this headset, the first thing i dont like and im sure everyone can agree with me is that the stock strap sucks now thankfully meta is selling the elite strap which i bought along side the headset but for $500 the elite strap should be the default strap not this flimsy fabric strap, my next negative are the controllers now these controllers are definitely a big improvement from the quest 2 controllers there lighter have better haptics and the tracking is improved but if your serious about the tracking and haptics you wanna spend the $300 and get the quest pro controllers which i did now thats a steep price for the pro controllers but their worth it and my last negative is the battery life now dont get me wrong its pretty good but i wish it was a little better, so overall this headset is amazing but when you purchase this headset you 100 percent need to get a better strap cause its a necessity and if your serious about tracking get the quest pro controllers as well

The Quest 3 is way better than the Quest 2. I had issues with the viewing of the Quest 2, for some reason my eyes would hurt me when I watched the Quest 2. The new features are also makes the Quest 3 that much better, better tracking, better experience and it’s way more comfortable overall.

Best Quest yet. Mixed Reality color passthrough cameras are a whole new experience. The slimmer design makes a major improvement on comfort level for hours of gameplay. The new pancake lenses and upgraded chipset show better clarity and graphics. Great time to get into VR for those who haven't experienced it yet.

Its absolutely insane how immersive VR can be. And if you dont want to be fully immersed the mixed reality applications are awesome. To be able to still see your surrounding but be enthralled in a game is so much fun. This was supposed to be a gift for my son but I play it almost nightly. Totally worth it.

The mixed reality is dine quite well. Not to mention how much more comfortable the headaet is over the previous generation. I usually dont upgrade my devises till at least two generations in. But this is definitely worth while to do. Especially if you dont have a vr headset yet to begin with.

I really enjoy the Meta Quest 3. The graphics are a big upgrade from older models, we had the Oculus 2, everything looks sharper and more immersive. The mixed reality feature is fun and cool to try, especially for quick games and demos, though it still feels like it has room to grow. It’s comfortable for shorter sessions, but the battery life could be better and the included strap isn’t great for long playtimes. That said, it’s super convenient being completely wireless and not needing a PC or console. Overall, it’s a solid VR headset that’s easy to jump into and great for both gaming and exploring VR. Was definitely happy with the purchase.
