WOW better than I thought but...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been doing VR ever since you had to setup those camera looking things with wires all over the place and this thick wire running to the headset the Oculus CV1. And I've had every model since. Quest 1, 2 and now 3. I have to say the visuals in this model blows away the quest 2. You can't imagine how much better. I knew it was going to be better but after I put the headset on I was like wow this is awesome it impressed me. Now the down side battery life don't by it if you plan on playing more than an hour and half. If you buy an external battery make sure it is at least 10,000mah and 3amp minimum to keep it charged up. I'm using an old VR Power that I had from my quest 2. Also, you at least need a simple aftermarket plastic headstrap. If you want the perfect setup look at the Nari Ultimate headphones from Razer with haptic feedback nothing beats it and if you plan on Bluetooth only 1 pair of headphones will work anker makes them I sent them back because once you try the Nari Haptics on your head you will never find anything else better. In my humble opinion.

Great Buy
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great purchase, the quest 3 was a huge upgrade compared to my quest 2, clear and inevitable difference, one great factor i found as soon as i opened the box was how slim the quest 3 was compared to the quest 2, the weight difference no linger gives me headaches. One other great thing about the quest 3 is the face padding is way better quality then the simple foam face padding that causes crazy sweating, they upgradd the head strap as well its does'nt look much different but the headstrap is much thicker compared to the quest 2's, and its way better quality. Ontop of all that the quest 3 adds great lenses adjustment, compared to auest 2 with the 3 clicks of spacing, you now can move it as you please. Getting nore into the specs of the oculus 3 the battery life is pretty much the safe but stringer and longer lasting so it doesnt start dying quicker like the the quest 2, it holds the same battery life longer. The resolution is to die for, and there not a constant overheating of the device, overall the quest 3 is a great buy, its not so great on budget but its totally worth the cost.

Better than Quest 2, but there are some issues
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have upgraded from a Quest 2 and have previously owned an original HTC Vive. I probably use the headset for 80% pcvr using a wired connection and 20% standalone. The Quest 3 pancake lenses are a huge improvement, improving the size of the sweet spot and apparent fov. Flying in MSFS and DCS is much better, and I have been playing a few more standalone games. The first unit I got had a single bright pixel in the left lens. I think this was a lens defect, since the spot changed color correctly but was extra bright. The other issue is mura is a little more visible... this means that pixels on the lcd have a slight variation in brightness across the panel. I think it is more visible due to the sharpness of the new lenses. Best Buy exchanged the first headset for a new one that has no dead pixels, and the mura seems slightly better. The other issue is that the battery drains much faster than the quest 2, even when wired to a usb port. None of the issues are a deal killer for me, and I am happy with the upgrade. I am also looking forward to more games that use the new passthrough cameras.

Quest 3 is Awesome
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a huge improvement from the Quest 2 which I actually returned when I bought. The Quest 3 is lighter, making it more comfortable for long sessions. And the pancake lenses make the resolution and field of view so much better. The passthrough mode is so cool.

My 2nd VR Headset since 2018!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Quest 3 so far is an amazing piece of gear. Its fast to setup and easy to use. The resolution is insane, it's like putting on glasses for the first time. The Mix reality bit is very cool. My only issue with it is, since I use it primarily as a PC VR the battery doesn't charge when tethered. So I am forced to stop my work and charge it before using it again. I hope a software update with be the fix this needs to be a 5 star device.

The future is undoubtedly here. VR is insane.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just recently became interested in VR headsets primarily for virtual computing, due to AVP hype. As I'd imagine was intended, Zuckerberg got me with has latest video comparing the MQ3 and AVP. Knowing it wouldn't be completely akin to AVP, I purchased the MQ3 with tame expectations. After 48 hours, I'd say my entire perspective on the technology has changed drastically. It's here, it's really here. I'm sitting on a mountain top with a 360 degree view right now, so immersed that it feels like the air temperature is becoming cooler, writing this review on one of three massive and clear virtual screens around me. I open the palm of my hand to reveal a very Iron-Man-esque quick menu where I can switch to mixed reality and pet my doggo a bit before going back to work. I don't know how else to describe it besides mind-blowing, insane, and potentially life-saving for the WFHer. Not to mention, watching movies or streaming games is profound. I've never used such a massive screen in my life. There's a Xbox Cloud Gaming app available, as well as Steam, covering a good portion of gaming needs. I do wish there were more streaming services with native apps, but loading them in a web browser is still an exceptional experience. If you have purchased movies with Apple and also an Amazon Prime account, you can make a MoviesAnywhere account and it will link all your content. The reason this is helpful is because Prime Video for VR has an option to download said content for offline viewing (i.e. air travel). Of course, you can connect the MQ3 to a PC and transfer content that way. The app I use for a virtual computing experience is called Immersed. They offer a free version, with three virtual screens and up to 1080p resolution. The paid "Pro" version (pay what you want model, starting at $4.99) lets you have up to five virtual monitors and up to 4K resolution. The screens are insanely clear. I'm a Technical Writer, staring and working with text all day long, the MQ3 has been a savior for managing that material in my day-to-day. As mentioned, you can also change your backdrop to really cool 360 degree immsersed places. There is even a public lobby so that you could go into a cafe setting and work around other people who are also using the Immersed app. I use it in my private room mostly, but it's a cool option if you want to get social. Meta also offers a remote desktop app in beta, it works with their Horizon Workrooms. I wasn't able to get multiple virtual monitors on that one, but I prefer the experience of Immersed anyway. Haven't even hopped into the VR gaming space, but for productivity and entertainment purposes, I can't think of anything else worth the $500 over a MQ3. If anyone has question to whether or not the technology is here and extremely practical for similar use-cases, I will be the first to tell you that it undoubtedly is. The greatest part is that it'll only get better, lighter, more comfortable, etc. Comfort was a huge factor of concern for me, but I've spent more time with this thing on than I have off (and that's with the default strap). Needless to say, it's really a non-issue if you stop making yourself focus on the minor nuance. Let it feel natural and you'll practically stop noticing it's there, aside from a minor little ventilation adjustment every once in a while. To think I almost settled with viewer glasses (Xreal Air/Viture One) for $450 instead of a true, immersive, crisp VR experience. You can make a future-proof purchase with the MQ3 and it's updated chipset/lenses for a VERY reasonable $500. I've also heard that the MQ2 is quite considerable for it's price point of $300. Either way, it's a price that the average consumer can get behind. Hope this helps anyone on the fence.

Fun Upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from a Quest 1, and have been enjoying my time with the Quest 3. It's a great upgrade and the MR games have been a fun extra to mess around with. Not as heavy either, but I decided to get another head strap instead of using the one it came with.

1st VR
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first experience in VR. The graphics are great. The screen door effect is not present. Performance is fast. Load times are short. I have yet to test it with my PC for VR gaming. The stand alone unit has kept me busy. The unit is not too heavy and wears comfortably.

Amazing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a major upgrade from Oculus 2. You can tell the difference immediately. Graphics are amazing, storage is great, you can use it without the controllers since it can scan your hands. Very satisfied. The only thing I don’t like it's their crappy head strap. I had to buy an upgrade from third party seller on amazon.

A worthy successor to the Quest 2
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Quest 3 brings significantly better resolution to all of the games that I own. I personally find the standard head strap to be quite comfortable, and I wear glasses while using the Quest. The setup was easier than on previous Quests. The new camera provides a much clearer view of the room when you're setting the boundary, which I like. I don't play any games with the passthrough on, but that's a matter of personal taste. The new controllers have dropped the rings found on previous controllers. Lots of people broke their controllers by running them into walls or furniture. I never had that problem and so it isn't an issue for me. I will say that the battery compartment in the new controllers is easier to access. If you are trying to choose between v2 and v3, I'd recommend v3 if you can afford it. I think v3 is a worthy upgrade from v2, but I would not jump to v3 if you recently purchased v2.

Don't miss out guys this device is just outstanding. Buy and extension, that keep your battery charged as you play. Dies very quick, but is worth it to play the hours you get. I added a extension, and it works great. Make sure is fast charge.

A Leap Forward, Step Back with Motion Sickness
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Meta Quest 3 stands as a robust successor in the VR realm, embodying a sleek, lightweight design paired with top-notch performance. The headset offers an immersive VR and MR experience, thanks to its enhanced graphics and audio quality. The expansive library of apps is a treasure trove for any VR enthusiast, granting a diverse range of virtual explorations. However, a significant downside I experienced was motion sickness, a common issue in the VR landscape. Despite the advanced hardware, the dissonance between visual input and physical sensation proved too much at times, requiring me to take frequent breaks from the virtual world. The discomfort was a reminder of the technology’s existing limitations, despite its promising advancements. Moreover, while the Quest 3 boasts improved mixed-reality capabilities, it falls short of expectations. The default head strap also posed some comfort issues, albeit minor, that detracted from the overall experience. The higher price tag, juxtaposed with these drawbacks, demands a pause for thought before diving wallet-first into this VR venture. In summary, the Meta Quest 3 is a significant advancement in the VR industry, offering an impressive array of apps and a more refined design. However, the motion sickness encountered is a stark reminder that there’s room for improvement, especially in bridging the gap between our physical and virtual realities.

Quest 3 is incredible!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the Quest 2, which is amazing too since it came out in 2021. This is even better! So many experiences with both, and they're incredible. Also your library is backwards compatible with Quest 2 library (depending on storage availability and size of game) *Major improvements with Quest 3* over Quest 2 - SPECS - Allow better immersive experience - Graphics, more dedicated RAM for GPU - Lenses - 2064x2208 pixels per eye - CPU processor - RAM 8GB vs 6GB from Quest 2 - 128 GB minimum for Quest 3 allows more apps to be installed at once. - WiFi 6 much faster MIXED REALITY experiences and passthrough camera are in color, and more clear vs (Quest 2 black and white) HEADSET WEIGHT of Quest 3 is significantly lighter vs Quest 2. While in VR this makes your virtual experience much better. Controllers are lighter

Glad I upgraded to this thing!!!!
|Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love it! I'm make this short and sweet: Glad I upgraded! It does feel better on my face with weight(new design) distribution on the front -- though I do believe it weights the same as Meta 2). Field of view is waaay better. QOL: THE PASSTHROUGH IS NOW IN COLOR, and surprisingly clear! Graphics are a BIG improvement. Better controllers, more responsive, feels way more comfortable. Hand tracking needs some work, but it works and I see promise for sure!!! I like that all of my pervious purchases have carried over and either had upgraded graphics/and or in the process of. Didn't purchase the 512GB (I went with the 128GB), I do know that future games will use the new tech to increase the file size of VR gaming for various reasons, of course, but I can load what games I want, and leave the rest. (ha! which allowed me to justice buying the new one). If your a VR nut like me, GET IT!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 – A Game-Changer in Virtual Reality
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first purchased the Oculus, but it has completely exceeded my expectations! The setup was surprisingly easy, and I was immersed in a whole new world within minutes. The visuals are crisp and detailed, and the motion tracking is incredibly smooth and accurate. Whether I’m playing action-packed games, exploring educational experiences, or just relaxing in virtual environments, the Oculus delivers every time. What really blew me away is the freedom of movement—no wires tying me down, which makes the experience feel that much more real. The hand tracking is intuitive, and the controllers are comfortable to use for long sessions. I also appreciate the growing library of apps and games; there’s truly something for everyone, from fitness to meditation to multiplayer adventures. Overall, the Oculus is an amazing device for both newcomers and VR veterans. It’s more than just a gaming console—it’s a portal to new worlds, new experiences, and endless fun. Highly recommended!

||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is awesome. Solid next step for accessible VR
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Big performance and comfort improvement over the quest 2. Video passthrough and hand tracking make a pretty huge difference in basic quality-of-life use and performance on things like virtual desktop streamer are significantly better. Battery life is a bit disappointing -- we're going through a full charge in around an hour -- so an add-on battery pack is almost a necessity.

Meta Quest 3 is great
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Meta Quest 3 is better than Meta Quest 2 in every way from graphics, power, speed and more. The icing on top is the new pancake lens. They have a wider viewing angle and are naturally comfortable. If you’re into VR the Meta Quest 3 is a must buy.
