Overall a huge improvement! (ignoring the mic)

Improves heavily over the Quest 2 in almost all aspects. The extra performance, while it doesn't always mean a graphical boost, makes everything feel 10x smoother and more crispy thanks to the higher resolutions and framerates. If you plan on live streaming VR this may not be for you because the mic is awful. It's many times worse than the Quest 2's mic. You will have to get a different mic if you plan on streaming or recording videos.

My first ever VR experience and I am blown away by how well this device works. I am not joking or exaggerating when I say after only a few hours of use I took the headset off and couldn't tell if I was still wearing it or not. I know it sounds silly but I found myself flipping my hands over in front of my eyes trying to differentiate the two experiences. My only gripes with this thing is there is more lack of full experience games in VR than I had anticipated and the games on the meta store are pretty overpriced IMO. Like the Resident Evil 4 port to VR (original game not the remake!!) for 40 bucks, really? Luckily they have the same refund rules as steam. Also the stock facial interface is pretty darn uncomfortable and I'm trying to understand why they made it the way it is, so far my best guess is it's the longest lasting while most cost effective material, it just severely digs into my skin, causing a lot of pain. An aftermarket "comfort" head strap did help a lot but I'm going to get their silicone interface or perhaps an aftermarket one soon to try out, at which point this will be one of the greatest gaming experiences available. I just hope the platform receives more full experiences! Like, GTA 6 fully playable in VR would be INSANE!!!!

The pancake lenses and increased power makes a world of difference. So with the new pancake lenses you always see everything clear. Also the speakers have been updated and it sounds good. I recommend replacing the head strap because it gives me a headache. It’s prescription glasses friendly. I’ve also noticed it doesn’t fog up like the quest 2 when I use supernatural in an hour workout. Oh I also recommend getting inserts for people that wear glasses it makes things easier.

I am a long time PCVR user, and I've had a Pimax headset for several years now. Not only is this more comfortable and light than any pcvr headset ive tried, its also got the clearest, sharpest visuals. The passthrough camera isnt perfect but enables amazing MR experiences which many apps already support. Honestly the switch from wired PCVR to wireless is a gamechanger, especially since it can connect to your pc via AirLink. In terms of downsides I have two main issues. First, is the lack of OLED panels which means the black levels are not great. And second is the battery life, which in my experience lasts around 1.5-2 hours at most. That said, if you are new to VR this headset will blow you away!

Decided to move up from a Quest 2. The 3 is worth the upgrade if you love VR/AR. That said, the upgrades are incremental enough that I wouldn’t get a 3 if you’re new to VR. But if you’re willing to shell out the money, it’s great. Standalone games play great, especially if they’re updated to take advantage of the increased power. It’s also lighter and more comfortable than the 2. Love playing Half-Life:Alyx via VR Desktop.

For me Quest 3 is the VR headset to have. Although same weight with quest 2 it feels lighter and my face and neck don’t complain. Love the new color pass through, which I thought I wouldn’t care for. One thing I regret was that I didn’t buy the 512 GB model. If you have the money to spend you should definitely buy that one. Also the pancake lenses are so much better with no more blurry areas. I could keep writing but my point is that I love this product

For the price, this is the best you can buy at the moment. I have a Quest 2 (Q2) as well, and the Quest 3 (Q3) is an excellent step up in video quality compared to the 2. The Q3 has a cystal clear display with its new lenses, you don't have to adjust much to get the "sweet spot" of viewing like you have to on the Q2. The Q3 plays everything I had in the Q2 library, only better due to the extra processing power, and in some cases there are Q3 updates to games that make what you had even better! The strap that comes with the Q3 unit though is terrible. If you use it, plan on getting either a headache or stress on your head. I've already upgraded to the Elite Strap, with battery. I recommend you get the extra battery on your new strap. While you're at it, purchase a new silicon face plate as well. The one that comes with it is very comfortable, but has a cloth like covering, where when you sweat, it's going to get soaked up on the face plate, making it a gross experience if you share your headset with someone else. The controllers no longer have the "ring" like the Q2 has, I didn't mind them, and the new controllers work even better than the Q2 works, and I really liked the Q2 controller! If you're even halfway serious about getting one of these, pay the extra money for the 512 Gig version!! At the moment (current version of the VR OS), sharing games on a subaccount requires you to install a second copy on the sub account, even though you have the same exact game installed on the primary account! I'm hoping this is fixed in the future. Along the same lines, sharing needs some work. It's just so clumsy at the moment. The Q3 has a ways to go, but as it currently stands today, it's a very fun device to own.

Finally some mobile VR with a decent GPU. The XR2 gen 2 chip is a big upgrade over the older Quest 2. The display is higher resolution. What really shines is the new pancake lenses. If you ever used fresnel lenses with older VR headsets, you will love these new ones. No more adjusting to make it clear. You can now move your eyes around the world without having to turn your head just to focus on things. Fitness is a big part of Quest headsets. If you want a decent cardio workout and not even realize you are working out I encourage you to give it a try. Supernatural is a music rhythm type workout with real trainers and beautiful photogrammetry environments. Beat Saber is classic and a good workout. When you really wanna get your heart rate go a few rounds in Thrill of the Fight. Make sure you play this in passthrough mode. The boxer will be in your room with you and you can avoid punching your tv by accident. Audio quality is really good. Each new Quest headset has improved audio and the Quest 3 is the best. Color passthrough is very nice and a big jump from the low res black and white of Quest 2. It’s also much better than Quest Pro which I have also owned. Keep one thing in mind. When you see video of passthrough and you’re watching it on your mobile phone it will look crystal clear. In the headset that same video stream covers your entire field of view so you can now see noise and limited resolution. This isn’t something wrong with the headset. This is a limitation of passthrough video right now. This is a VR games console and it excels at that. I also use it for productivity in the app Immersed. This lets me stream multiple screens from my work PC. I can sit on the couch with my family and have 5 monitors placed around the room in passthrough. This lets me interact with them and still work. Negatives. Meta’s UI is dated and lacks features. The list of your applications still doesn’t allow you to delete old items or move anything into folders. It would be nice to have a workout folder with all the exercise apps in it. It would be nice to delete old demos from my library entirely. Comfort is a problem out of the box. You need a better head strap and I recommend the elite battery strap. It balances the headset and makes it very comfortable. It also nearly doubles the battery life which is a must if you plan to play for more than 2 hours at a time. I own an Apple Vision Pro also, and the Quest 3 will stay because it does some things Apple may never do. It is like a MacBook Vs a PlayStation 5. The Quest 3 is the PS5 here. It does gaming right. It has great controllers. AVP excels in other areas. Productivity. Entertainment. Etc. If you can only get one of those, I would always recommend the Quest 3. It’s a great overall headset that excels with gaming and fitness.

I love the Meta Quest 3 because it is a significant improvement over the Quest 2 in many ways, including: Higher resolution display: The Quest 3 features a dual-layer display with a resolution of 2160x2160 per eye, which is a significant improvement over the Quest 2's 1920x1832 per eye resolution. This means that games and other VR experiences will look sharper and more detailed on the Quest 3. More powerful processor: The Quest 3 is powered by a new Snapdragon XR2+ processor, which is more powerful than the Snapdragon XR2 processor in the Quest 2. This means that the Quest 3 will be able to run more demanding VR games and experiences more smoothly. Improved mixed reality: The Quest 3 features improved mixed reality capabilities thanks to its new high-resolution passthrough cameras. This means that users will be able to see the real world around them more clearly and interact with it more seamlessly in VR. More comfortable design: The Quest 3 is also more comfortable to wear than the Quest 2 thanks to its new lighter and more ergonomic design. It also features a new fabric strap that is more breathable and less likely to cause sweating. In addition to these improvements, the Quest 3 also features a number of other new features, such as improved eye tracking, lip tracking, and hand tracking. These features will make VR experiences more immersive and interactive than ever before. Overall, the Meta Quest 3 is a significant improvement over the Quest 2 in many ways. It offers a higher resolution display, a more powerful processor, improved mixed reality capabilities, and a more comfortable design. I am confident that the Quest 3 will be the best VR headset on the market when it is released.

The third generation and i have had them all and this ine has been fsr the best improvement. The redeeign of the kens to make it a slimmer foot print has been the best ever. They kept the best design of the wuest 2 as for the head strap connection, but the hand tracking and full color passthrough is a game changer!would highly recommend this even if you have the wuest 2, now my house has two quest vs to one!

Meta Quest 2 is awesome, and this is an improvement for sure. A little bit sleeker, comfortable, better graphics that are smoother. The new exterior cameras are great, and pass through is much better. Hoping to see more mixed reality titles soon. The face pad is a soft material that likely would collect sweat, but you can get. Silicone cover for that. Overall this thing is excellent and can’t wait to see them continue to improve with each model.

Upgraded from Quest 2 + Rec. Accessories

I upgraded from the Quest 2. The Quest 3 is a great upgrade and is definitely worth it if you're using a Quest or Quest 2 still. The tracking is much better, the full-color pass-through and object tracking is great as well. Battery life is about the same as the Quest 2 w/o a Battery pack. I did get some additional accessories for it, but I went 3rd party rather than 1st party for obvious savings with no loss in quality or usability. My Elite Strap + Battery Pack is KIWI (who I had also used for my Quest 2). Without the battery pack, I got about 2 hours of play before needing to charge. After I got the elite w/ battery pack, it lasts about 3.5-4.5 hours without needing a charge. A 10ft USB-C to USB-C cable from Anker for when I want to play while I charge. (Inexpensive, and is really nice if you do longer play sessions.) I also bought snap-on prescription lenses from Zenni (~$50) just so I didn't have to wear my glasses while using my headset. This isn't absolutely necessary, but I found that I felt much better with snap-on lenses than when wearing my glasses as sometimes, the glasses can press against your sinus cavities and cause a 'congested' like feeling. I typically play PCVR titles (Air Link to my PC and games via Steam), but I also have a few of the Quest-exclusive Games, like RE4VR (which with the Remake out now and offering VR, may not be worth the purchase) and Assassin's Creed Nexus and haven't had many issues outside of the occasional lag spike when there's a lot of people using the Wireless.

An absolutely game-changing piece of technology. This device will change the way you spend your free time. Be fully inmersed in countless worlds, engaging in a bevy of single and multiplayer experiences. The headset is incredibly light and only takes a couple of minutes to set up. The audio blew me away and the graphics are more than adequate. As a life-long gamer, i can honestly say that the future is finally here and its only going to get better!!

Substantial improvement over the quest 2, especially in the nausea/headache area for me. Sometimes it feels like the tracking can't keep up in faster paced beat saber games, but having stronger room lighting seems to help.

The Meta Quest 3 is absolutely phenomenal! Experiencing mixed reality games on this headset is next-level — it feels like stepping directly into the game world. The visuals are stunning, the performance is seamless, and every interaction feels incredibly immersive. Getting to play Batman: Arkham Shadow is a highlight — you truly get to step into the shoes of your favorite hero and experience the thrill of being Batman firsthand. The sense of presence and excitement is unlike anything else in VR right now. The only reason I am returning this headset is due to an overheating issue during extended play sessions. Aside from that, it’s an outstanding device, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore the ultimate mixed reality experiences.

I have to say using this as a wireless PCVR system has been awesome. I use this in my living room with a 5700X + 3060ti mini PC build and can play everything flawlessly over WIFI 6E and Oculus Airlink (Router is right next to the TV). Beat saber, gorn, job simulator all runs great. As for Mixed reality, it has potential but the current games/apps still feel gimmicky and like a tech demo. They priced this well for what you get, except for accessories which they definitely overpriced. All in all, if you want a great PCVR experience I'd recommend it for sure. Also GET THE ELITE STRAP!! Or at least a 3rd party strap like from BoboVR because the base strap is terrible.

Bought it to get into VR gaming. Doesn’t feel heavy on my head, tracking is great, and games collection is great. The ability to connect to my pc for more games is also great. However, battery life feels short depending on what game you play, and using batteries on the controllers instead of a rechargeable battery or battery pack is not great. Head strap is also not the best in terms of comfort, and may warrant buying another one.
