I bought this for my son to upgrade, he has the oculus below this one and let me just say that this one is so much more comfortable, it’s lightweight and it even just looks so much nicer and very easy to hold, no complaints whatsoever, great purchase over all

    The new standard in VR

I have had many VR headsets over the years including PlayStation VR, PlayStation VR2 and Meta Quest 2, and while they have all been good in their own right, they have always had some deficiencies that made long term use just annoying enough where I would only use them for about 30 minutes at a time and put them on a self to gather dust after that. The Meta Quest 3 is the first VR headset that I feel i can use for more than 30 minutes at a time, and not feel like I’ve reached my limit on VR. I believe this device is an inflection point in VR, for about $500 dollars you are getting many of the features that would of cost a $1000 or more just a few years ago, and the new technology pancake lenses ( also used in apple vision pro) make a big difference in being able to see more clearly using this device.

The Quest 3 is a good upgrade from Quest 2 with new pancake lens and better clarify. Mixed reality is nice although there really isn't much content available supporting it; hopefully there will be more games and apps taking full advantage of it coming soon.

So far it's great....quicker load times, better graphics, love the passthrough enhancements. I do wish the graphics were a little better, especially compared to PSVR2 (I get this is a standalone unit). This is much lighter than both Quest 2 and quest pro....

First impression: VR refined. I still have and use the PSVR on PS4, and let me say this is nikes above that. Granted the PS5 VR system is better than the 4, but not quite on the level of the Quest 3. The only reason I do not give it a 5 star review is simply based on lack of content. Im not a fan of the Asgard Wrath game, I do not like the movement. I can only stand it for about 20 minutes before I have to stop. I will say Golf+ is AMAZING, hands down the most indepth golf game. Not the most visually apealing, if your looking for real grass, keep looking. But the controlls, and mechanics are spot on. If you have an issue with your slice, you will most likely have it on the game. Beat Sabre is cool, ZombieLand is great but very short. The Mixed Reality games are awesome. Meta Horizons... not so much. Unless your a pre-teen who like running around cussing and making any sort of enjoable experience.. well unenjoyable. I cant blame that on the headset though, simply very poor parenting. Would I buy it again? Yes. DOes it need to make improvements? Yes. With a new system this is generally the case, and Meta seems to be on top of things with updates. 5 Stars? Not so much, but a solid 4. Of course my purchase with BestBuy was too easy.

    Best Headset on the Market

Meta Quest 3 is an impressive piece of tech that offers a fantastic virtual reality experience. Its graphics are sharp, and the immersion it provides is truly captivating. However, it's worth noting that the headset does demand a significant amount of light for a clear pass-through feature. In low-light situations, the pass-through can appear a bit grainy. But here's the silver lining – this minor drawback doesn't detract from the overall brilliance of the Meta Quest 3. The headset's strong points far outweigh this limitation. It delivers an expansive library of immersive VR content, and its performance is top-notch. Whether you're gaming, exploring, or working in virtual reality, the Meta Quest 3 is more than up to the task. So, while the lighting requirement for pass-through might be a consideration, it shouldn't deter you from making this great purchase.

Much improved over the Quest 2. The strap is garbage - wear a ball cap backwards to help it fit better. Would be 5 stars but the ergonomics of it make it painful to wear for more than 45 minutes. After an hour or two, it is painful. Using it for additional monitors is great - software can become laggy after long usage. However it is not great if you are in a moving vehicle where there are windows... the environment will fly away randomly and you have to recenter. It would be better if they increased the refresh rate of the monitors - I am almost certain it runs at less than 60 hz when doing a screen mirror. The elite strap is expensive, but it does help with comfort. Hand tracking is better than expected. The passthrough is pretty good, not Apple Vision Pro good as it is grainy, warped when items are up close, and it outlines your hands with tracking making using your phone via passthrough very difficult. I think the UI is fairly intuitive - watch some videos on the walk through and you're good. Using it for 3D movies and watching netflix etc -- awesome. Though you will want to make sure you're getting the highest fidelity possible as some default to 480p which looks terrible. The sound is way better than I expected clear, and while the bass is there its not a dramatic bass like you would get from headphones. Get the cord if you will want to do extended sessions - it will charge while wearing it.

INCREDIBLE ..!!! VR and AR have come a long way since I started playing in the 90's. this thing is amazing . It can be a desktop with several floating windows at your disposal. You can search the web, watch YouTube videos, have a workout that's got you sweating and panting. You're literally submerged into the gameplay and it feels so real, like you're really there. Another amazing feature that has progressively been better with every update is the hand tracking. You can navigate the OS with just hands and finger gestures. Its like being Tony Stark..lol

I've been a VR holdout for several years, waiting on the market to develop and finally offer a true highly quality consumer experience at a price that is more in line with typical consumer grade purchases. Once the Quest 3 was announced, I knew this was going to be my time to try VR. Prior to buying this unit I'd never so much as even used VR before as I expected the earlier units to probably be below my standard. So the Quest 3 itself is good, but I think my years of holding out and gaming on increasingly amazing monitors likely gave me too high of expectations for this unit. The screens are pretty amazing for gaming, the XR is pretty cool but definitely not 100% there yet. The stock headband is pretty bad, but we all knew that going in. The next problem is battery life, I can't seem to get 2 hours out of the unit. The worst problem for me is performance when tethered to a PC. I've got a robust machine, but having to input video via USB-C results in a lot more encoding, etc which seems to slow down even my mighty 4070 Ti a pretty good amount. As I'm a sucker for eye candy, turning down too many of those options doesn't rank highly on my list. I'll definitely be keeping it. It is fun on its own. I probably wont use it for iRacing which was initially one of my main goals, but the battery life and playing at 72fps aren't quite up to my standards.

The shipment to our house via FedEx was awful with no cushion. The product was damaged. Returned to the store for a product to be mailed to the store and picked up for safer keeping, that product was damaged too. Returned to the store again, and this time the product was in stock. It was opened on the spot. It looked great with relief! It was tested at home and it worked fabulous. The first product shipped by FedEx, had lines in the view and a blackout type effect. Pretty sure that's not how the product was suppose to work. Now, happy, it is wrapped and waiting for a little boy to open it as the best birthday present ever! I saved a lot of money for this, and I wanted it just right. Thanks BestBuy for making it right. Love you guys.

Initially experienced a dead pixel issue with my first model, but Best Buy was great about exchanging that Quest for another one which hasn't had any issues as far as I can see. Coming from a Rift S, the wireless freedom provided by the Air Link more than justifies the price. My wireless setup seems to be good enough that I don't really experience any quality or latency issues compared to the wired setup. I primarily play H3VR. The passthrough is now in color, but still very low resolution and honestly not very impressive. Don't trust the videos of people cooking with this thing. I'm honestly not even interested in checking out MR except maybe for experimental console emulation. Overall this might not be the future of VR we had in mind, but it's an important next step in terms of wireless freedom, resolution, and software refinement.

My son’s Occulus began to fail just as the warranty was expiring. Unsure what they would offer we went into Best Buy old box and receipt in hand. Amazing Service!! We were offered a brand new occulus to replace the damaged one, OR a full dollar value credit to upgrade to the MetaQuest 3. Need I say more! We replaced a Christmas gift and locked in a deal with birthday credit! Win/Win. He loves the graphics and the ability to see his actual space in real time. (Reduces punching the walls). I think we’ll get the straps as an after gift. One point to note-The hand guards on the old set did have finger saving value. Homework is done with extra care in order to get playtime… So - a good gift- just control the screen time… a kid could lost in there on their quests.!!

Better VR gear is available but you’re going to pay a lot more for it. I would give it 5 stats if it came with the elite head strap with battery and the silicone faceplate. Those should come with it standard because the unit is junk without the upgrades. Plan to spend $200 upgrading and another $100 in games the first month.

This is a notable upgrade from the Quest 3. Not by leaps and bounds, but its new features make it worth considering. The Quest 2 was still a solid piece of hardware and decided to gift it to a relative. The first thing I noticed was how good the resolution is compared to Quest 2. The AR games are really fun and does a great job scanning and mapping out your surrounds. That may be the biggest improvement aside from faster processing. Quest Link The downside is the strap gets uncomfortable after a while, so a third-party option is more than likely the best move. It's also not very accommodating for wide frame glasses even though it has a spacer adjustment feature built in. Thankfully, there are affordable options for prescription lenses through Meta's partnership with Zenni. Not the biggest fan of Meta as a company, but this is a winner.

Incredible screens. Adjustable IPD and really good sound! The only downside is the Facial Interface and Headstrap SUCKS! I wore this for one hour and my forehead was very read and burning from the sandpaper like facial interface. This forced me to buy the 40 dollar overpriced silicone facial interface. Not cool. They made this decision to make money but in the end it will cost them. They will have to send out free facial interfaces like they did on Quest 2 after the inevitable backlash from the redness and pain caused by it. Disappointing to see this kind of behavior as an early adopter and a shareholder. I hoped they would have learned from that mistake!

Way more comfortable than the Quest 2, but I still bought an upgraded strap on Amazon with a padded top strip that makes all the difference. I took a star off because the battery life is not great at all and after changing the controller batteries for the first time, one controller wouldn’t reconnect until I did some troubleshooting online.
