Meta 3-better than the 2 but still room to improve

Pros: Much better graphic quality than the 2. Sound is much louder and clearer. Feels better on my head and doesn't make my neck hurt while wearing like the 2. Cons: Battery dies very quickly, elite battery stopped charging after a very brief time, sometimes issues with crackling/sound issues (but may be a game issue, not the headset).

A nice step up from the Quest 2

I think this is really cool tech and no kasues so far. I came from a Quest 2 and this is better in just about every way except price. The visuals are slightly crisper, it's thinner, faster and the controllers are less bulky. The big new feature is better pass through cameras which gives you augmented/mixed reality. Yesterday I prepared and ate a salad while playing a YouTube video on a giant virtual screen hovering above my sink. Don't get me wrong, the pass through visuals of your surroundings are a little fuzzy but good enough to normal tasks a little slower at least. My only real complaint is that it can uncomfortable with the default included strap at times. But, overall it's the best all around headset available for the price.

Performance is much better playing standalone, versus the Quest 2 and even better with PC gaming. This headset is definitely a step in the right direction for the future of VR gaming. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is the battery life is greatly reduced and the head strap that it comes with is extremely uncomfortable.

This is a solid, technical improvement over their last generation, in a lot of ways, and I really enjoy those improvements, but the cost increase kills it a little for me. I’ve tried to use the AR function of it more frequently, in terms of videos, and connecting to my desktop but the weight of the headset plus the low-ish battery life make it discouraging to invest in a long-term activity like watching a movie. The gaming experience definitely feels improved over last generation, but it is again the cost that makes it hard to justify because on top of that you’re investing into a totally new game genre that requires whole new purchases of games and apps. Basically, if you have the money, I think it’s a solid buy to upgrade but if you’re somebody who has never owned a VR headset, I would only recommend this during a major sale or if they decide to permanently decrease the price about $100 at least.

The headset's faster load times contribute significantly to uninterrupted gameplay, ensuring a smoother and more engaging experience. Playing Arizona Sunshine, a thrilling zombie survival first-person shooter, was an absolute delight on the Meta Quest 3. The standout feature was the system's AI creating borders, which cleverly adapts to the environment, enhancing the feeling of presence and realism within the game. Overall, the Meta Quest 3 proves to be a game-changer in the VR landscape, offering a seamless merging of virtual and physical worlds, remarkable audio immersion, and improved performance, making it an excellent choice for immersive gaming experiences like Arizona Sunshine.

Watching movies in 3d in your own private theater never looked so good. The clarity is amazing, the whole unit is much faster than the predecessor. Using multitasking seems to be more responsive than before. The mixed reality has a lot to be desired, but Meta is working on it. Has lots of potential here. I can reliably use my phone while my headset is still on. I even ate some breakfast while the headset was still on. Games download much faster on the headset so having just the base storage doesn't seem to be an issue. Yes most games have not been updated to take advantage of the quest 3 hardware. But games still look gorgeous running on the new hardware.

This is a good headset overall but it has some room for improvement. To start, the head strap that it comes with is total trash. Don't listen to all of the YouTubers and influencers who would have you believe that it's new and improved so much that it's usable now. IT IS NOT! The head strap is uncomfortable from the start and only gets worst the longer you wear it. It does not properly lift the headset off your face and puts pressure on your eyebrow and nose regions. For the increased price of this, Meta should be ashamed to not include their Elite strap as a standard option. I picked up the Elite strap with battery and it's better by a long shot. The battery also dies rather quickly compared to the Quest 2. Maybe a software update can help optimize that? Otherwise, the screen resolution, pancake lenses, depth sensor, passthrough, etc. are all welcome improvements and make this system worth it. If you already have a Quest 2, I think it's a much harder sell until they update the software and games more to take full advantage of the new tech. Just be sure to factor in the price of a new headset with your new purchase!

Graphics depend on the game you download. Very versatile, theres something for everyone the can use it. My only complaint is the head strap that comes on it. The velcro always catches my hair and although it is adjustable it is hard to get it to fit right on my smaller head. Set up took a while too.

I mean who doesn’t like vr? It’s easy to use, don’t need a computer and has a lot of games in the store ready to buy. Only thing i can hate on it is the low amount of storage for something that can play so much. I would definitely recommend having a pc/laptop capable of playing vr games using either tethered connection or airlink. But make sure your wifi is good enough as airlink tends to look muddy and even unplayable if the wifi isn’t good.
