Big improvement from quest 2. Need aftermarket head strap as stock not comfortable and needs longer battery. Recommend a head strap with swappable battery. Lots of games and really like the new subscription model as it’s cheaper and has many games with 2 new games monthly. Fun games and also nice to watch movies and surf content. Could use better interface as I am quite spoiled also having an Apple Vision Pro. Using the hand gestures to select items takes a steady hand. As for accessories I like the Meta version because all work together recommend the charging cradle, hand straps and silicone facial interface all work perfect together and keeps you charged up and ready.

I bought this to upgrade my son’s Quest 3S, and the difference is truly night and day. The Quest 3 takes everything you love about the 3S and elevates it to a whole new level. From the moment you put the headset on, you realize this isn’t an incremental upgrade to enter the world of VR…it’s a massive leap forward into total immersion, outstanding performance, and just pure fun. The overall design of the unit is slimmer, lighter-feeling, and better balanced, making long sessions way more comfortable - and that's important! And since the Meta Quest 3 is a completely standalone headset not directly connected to anything, you get full freedom—no wires, and no PC required. Right out of the box, the setup was quick and straightforward. Within minutes, I was fully immersed in VR, and the experience genuinely blew me away. Powered by the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip, the Meta Quest 3 delivers seriously smooth, lightning-fast performance. Games load quickly, environments feel alive, and everything runs with a fluidity that makes older VR headsets feel outdated overnight. In fact, it offers roughly double the graphical power of its predecessor the Quest 2, making its visuals richer and more detailed than ever. The optical display on this unit is simply stunning. Coming from the quest 2 the quest 3 is definately an upgrade. The lens is better and easier to find the sweet spot. Graphics seem crisper and the ability to use your hands instead of the controllers is pretty cool. Battery isnt great which means youbare also buying the replacement headstrap with built in battery to extend playing time. And a backup battery if you are sharing this amongst friends. That adds to the already high pricetag. "Is it worth it" depends on you. If you already have a PS5 or Xbox then its a cool addition to your gaming platforms. If this is your primary device then youll value it more. The meta app has gotten better. Sharing to an outside screen is better. Seperating your facebook account with a seperate meta account is way nicer.

Had the meta Quest 2. With the quest 3 The resolution per eye is slightly better the lenses are definitely wider, and I like the adjustments better on this than the quest 2. Adjustments like distance from the eye and the head strap. The head strap feels much better than the Quest 2. The quest 3 is slightly heavier than the 2 but feels lighter when wearing. The image quality is definitely better and noticeable. It's not extremely noticeable because this is not like the resolution jump from 480i to 1080p that we all experienced 20 years ago A 256 GB option would be cool for a cheaper price point. The controllers also feel better in the hand. It's definitely worth the upgrade but like I said a 256 GB option would be good for a better price point

Coming from a quest 1 and tried a friends quest 2. This is a massive step up in quality. Screen looks much clearer and feels much lighter. I would recommend getting a different head strap because the little jock strap it comes with sucks and hurts my head. With an upgraded strap this thing is a lot of fun. Would also recommend getting a strap with another battery if you plan on playing for longer than an hour or two at a time

So many good things to say about this device, where to even start? I guess a bit of background. For my career, I'm a Sr. Technical Writer working from home. For my hobbies, I love 2D gaming and creative writing. The AVP released and naturally, my interest in virtual computing/monitor solutions was more than piqued. Not keen on spending $3,500, I started trialing some "XR glasses", namely the Xreal Air 2 Pro and the VITURE One XR. After that proved to be an absolute fail in the productivity realm, I went ahead and picked up the Meta Quest 3. There was nothing that could prepare me for just how flooring this experience would be. Popping in the headset for the first time is really cool, once you get it adjusted to comfort, which can take a bit of finicking (and some 3rd party accessories, discussed later). The real mind-blowing experience for me though, was downloading the Immersed app (free) from the Meta Store and remote connecting to my work MacBook. In this app, you're thrown into a beautiful immersive 3D environment, where you have complete remote access to the device you're connected to. From here, you can spawn one to five virtual monitors that can be resized, curved, and placed anywhere in your virtual environment. You open the palm of your hand and reveal an interactive menu, tap on the icon with a finger to engage it. This allows you to quickly switch between a virtual environment and passthrough (cameras capturing the real world around you), change your seat in the virtual environment, hide your virtual screens, mute your mic, and more. So aside from being the pinnacle of my virtual office setup, it's also a mind-blowing unit for 2D game consumption, or any type of media entertainment really. The Xbox Cloud Gaming app allows you to stream Xbox Game Pass titles on a massive virtual screen. You can also use Immersed or a paid app like Virtual Desktop to remote connect to your PC, which can then be used for playing PC games on, again, a massive virtual screen. Watching LotR in the same manner is like getting to relive it in the theaters again. If you would've told me that once I get a Meta Quest 3, my physical monitors and TVs would collect dust, I would've never believed it. Experiencing it for the first time and utilizing this invaluable piece of technology for my work and leisure has been an absolute dream. Seriously cannot wait for the future of VR. Also, if you compare this unit to the other VR headsets out there, you'll find the value to be the best available. $500 for the 128GB or $650 for the 512GB is an absolute steal. You get what you pay for, twice over. If you plan on using this unit for extended sessions, I would highly recommend getting a 3rd party head strap. The one I use is called the BOBOVR M3 Pro and it allows me to wear my MQ3 while working for several many hours throughout the day. This is because the weight distribution balances all the pressure loosely on your head, with padding, instead of tightly on your face. TL;DR, if you want a world-changing virtual viewing experience for movies, shows, and 2D games, a superb productivity tool, and a very capable VR/PCVR gaming device, look no further than the Meta Quest 3. Great resolution, great native OS, tons of apps on the Meta Store, option to sideload Android APKs, color passthrough, exceptional controllers, hand tracking, light and compact (it's even lighter than the AVP), tons of 3rd party accessory options, and so much more. Yes, I'm very passionate about the product, but that's only because I've literally seen and experience everyday how much the MQ3 can do for me. I've owned it 15 days and have 125 hours in Immersed. Racked up a ton of Xbox and Demeo (VR tabletop game) hours too. I love it so much.

I am an owner of the original oculus quest 2 during covid and let me tell you. THIS ONE blows the quest 2 out of the water. In terms of performance alone, all my games have a greater level of detail. Everything is smoother and new fidelity I didn’t know was possible on a standalone system. The new lenses are a game changer, no more fuzzy text or comparing the view to my terrible vision or dry eyes. Meta as released a product that will stay current for quite some time. Plus, plug this in to a pc with a link cable with a powerful system and you will take advantage of the new lenses even more The controllers are a big upgrade from the previous generation. I constantly clashed the large rings in the last controller, no more issues with that as I reload guns in VR. Lastly, the elephant in the room. Mixed reality, it’s super crisp and a lot of fun! You can go around your house looking like a total idiot but have full visual and fulll functionality after adjusting properly to digital depth perception similar to NVG’s. (Night vision goggles) I can see this being a great product for both gaming and productivity! I have referred people and everyone I tell about the system it literally sells itself.

for a first headset, this thing is pretty great! battery life is a little lacking, but I play pcvr so it's plugged in the whole time. very capable and the built in finger tracking is really nice! probably the best bang for the buck headset out there
