The lenses are fantastic and the resolution is great. Controller tracking was a little better with Quest 2 but it’s still fine. Audio is louder than Quest 2. The compromises are in comfort and in Facebook. The battery in front pulls down on the headset and makes it uncomfortable after a short time of wear. The default strap is basically unusable unless you are lying down and the upgraded straps are overpriced and of such poor quality that Meta froze sales on some of them. It is still locked in to Facebook’s ecosystem and they have a bad history with data governance, privacy, and moderation practices. If you buy it, also buy a third party strap and try to use it for PC VR with the Steam Link app more than with Facebook store titles.

It was an upgrade from the Quest 2 and I cannot recommend it more. Its so quick to load games, along with running them smoothly. The game that comes with it is pretty great as well if you enjoy Norse mythology!

From the lens, the controllers, to the slightly beefier hardware, the Quest 3 is the best (only?) standalone VR headset. Also a great PCVR headset for your Steam library!

Great experince for the money
