This lets you play some games that you otherwise couldn’t without connecting to your PC. Also makes file management on your headset faster.

It is well worth it. The link allows you to play games that support VR with the Quest 2. It also allows you to use the virtual desktop functionality that the Oculus desktop software provides with the Quest 2 without having to purchase the app.
