This game is an exclusive for PS3, and it is the only exclusive to get a 10 out of 10 on Gamespot.com. I can tell you how good the graphics and story and controls are, but that will be less time that I can be using to play this, so read the reviews all over the web, they all say the same thing, BUY BUY BUY!

This game is over-all a good game. The graphics are great as well as the story line. The cust scenes are very long and there are many of them. You will get lost in this game from time to time and not know where to go. other then that. The story line is good, graphix are great. I am glad I added it to my collection.

This is one of the few games out there that stealth missions are actually fun to play. The gameplay is tight and there are plenty of weapons to pick from. The cut scenes are long and annoying. I skipped through all of them so I had no idea what was going on with the story. My advice - find a web site with the storyline and read that and skip all the cut scenes.

This game was AMAZING my brother bought it and i watched him play it and thought it wouldn't be my type of game but i tried it and was hooked. I started playing it at 7am until around 5pm. the graphics are amazing, the storyline was perfect. if u buy this game, the first time u play it u will want 2 play through the game slowly because the cut scenes are usually like 30 minutes and so you will know whats going on . but all in all it was perfect and i cant wait till the new one comes out

Wow. Let me just say that this is one of the truest iterations of the power of the PS3. This is Metal Gear Solid 4. If you have no idea about anything in the epic universe of this game, research the series before you buy this game. The premise of this amazing masterpiece is the final days of Solid Snake. Set in the year 2014, the world he is in is one engulfed in conflict. Random and pointless wars are being waged all thru the Earth, with the "war economy" being the only leg the world stands on. The last time we saw Solid Snake, (Not Big Boss in MGS3.) he was young and strong and helping Raiden stop the Big Shell incident. Now, 5 years later, he has mysteriously aged to the physical age of 75. He travels the world with Otacon, who everyone knows, in retirement. However, his old commander and friend Col. Roy Campbell calls him back into duty to assassinate one man: Liquid Ocelot. Equipped with the new technology Octocamo, he hunts down his brother and archnemesis in an epic war narrative explaining how Old Snake sees war. As this tired old veteran struggles to make a difference, all of the twists and turns from the past Metal Gears come together in an explosive finale. Not only is this game gorgeously told, it also looks and plays wonderfully. Snake and his suit of Octocamo will react to the changing battlefield around him. He can side with local militia groups trying to fight back against the hostile PMCs, or he can be as stealthy as ever. When Snake needs to, he can fire over 100 guns to stop enemies from killing him. Whether its the gunplay or the sneaking, or even the truly astounding fights against the B&B corps, (I'm not going to say who that is.)the game is beautifully crafted. Even after you beat the amazing story, there are a wealth of hidden goodies to find. Even after that, you can dive into one of the best online shooters: Metal Gear Online. Create a character, set his skills : Sniper, Grenadier, Machine Gunner, etc. and compete in amazing 16-player online shooters to be the best soldier! All in all, this game is truly one of the best games ever. Although there are those cutscenes you have to sit thru, the content in them is truly captivating. The characters, settings, and story are all gorgeously crafted. This is well worth your money and I give it a 5 out of 5.

This is like three games in one. The single player is very open-ended, you can play it like a spy who sneaks through a battlefield, or you can be a commando who kills everybody who looks at him wrong. Replaying it as a different type of person is like playing a different game all together, it's great! Sometimes you will be all alone in the middle of a warzone, and sometimes you will find yourself killing a crazy robot with the help of several commandos who are on your side, they all feel right and work well together. There are also some situations which feel like they would be at home in Resident Evil, but it is still a great addition to the game itself, so I am happy, you will be too. The graphics are very impressive, meaning you will see a great amount of details and that's a great thing given the nature of this genera. Also, there is a wide array of environments to enjoy, which keeps the graphics feeling fresh. The online portion is very interesting, there are several modes that have Snake-style spies fighting guards or eachother, which is really unique for online and makes it easy for people to enter. There are also updates arriving to keep people playing it so coming lake to the party won't keep you from enjoying this part of the game. The plot is a mixed bag, but the high point is certainly the characters. Several cut scenes will leave you feeling like these people are real and not just stereotypes. You don't have to know the story so far to enjoy this game, also there is a bit of downloadable content you can get for free that will explain who people are and what is going on if you do want extra detail. The story is a bit convoluted and hard to follow, but that is not something you will be faced with too often, but there are some unclear moments. It is one of the clearest plots for this series, so do not let this hold you back, I just have to say something negative or I don't feel objective. This goes into the "is it good or bad" column, I like the amount of cutscenes, but you may not. Just think of it like a movie, and enjoy yourself. If you really hate them you don't have to watch them to know what your mission is, so don't feel bad. Overall, this game is wonderful, I suggest everyone at least try the new demo or just buy it now.

Without a doubt, this is one the best games currently available for the system. Every aspect of the game, from the graphics, the controls, straight through to the overall presentation betrays a level of dedication by Kojima Productions that many other developers fail to live up to. There are numerous ways that a player can attack a situation, ranging from "kill no man" stealth tactics to guns blazing. Every moment of the game is a blast, and replay value is high, as players are rewards with secret weapons for playing the game in a certain way. Needless to say, every PS3 owner needs to experience the quality gameplay of Metal Gear Solid 4.

The Metal Gear Solid Series are always the best, The Graphics are stunning on the PS3 format and the game was the longest for me to beat out of all the series. Super fun, The bosses are unique and so many different ways the game can be played. Lots of videos to watch so you can't just turn it on and play for 30 minutes and turn it off. But the story line is great, it's a great end to the Metal Gear Saga. Very inspiring part where you actually go back to Shadow Moses which means a lot if you played the other Metal Gears, particularly the 1st one..... But it and have fun....

This game throws you right into the midst of awesome futuristic warfare, none like I've ever seen before. Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to play the previous Metal Gear games, but I was able to pick up the story line pretty easily. I must say, this is one of the greatest video games I have ever played, if not the best. It is so real I've even had dreams that I was in the battle. The graphics and detail of the game are absolutely amazing - I'm experiencing the action in high definition (highly recommended!). Truly a great game, a definite must buy.

This is a must have for any Metal Gear fan. Story line is great and keeps you wanting more. Graphics are very clean. There are a lot of cut-scenes but Metal Gear has always been like that. Besides the cut-scenes allow you to break from the gameplay, which can get intense. I haven't enjoyed the online. It's a little jerky and kind of cheesy. I'm not much for Japanese humor. It also requires you to create Konami user account and two user names, kind of confusing. And you can only create one character free of charge, additional characters carry a fee. But I didn't buy the game with online in mind. I bought it for the good ole Metal Gear series. Good buy, you won't be disappointed.

I've never played the Metal Gear games before, and i don't own a PS3, but after playing this game at a friend's place, i was amazed. The story was excellent, after being caught up on whatever i'd missed from previous games. The graphics are crisp and never once did i see lag in the game. This game has convinced me of the need to buy the PS3, and this will be the first title i pick up. It was so addicting that i couldn't stop, the story and game flow seamlessly, and the effects and music are deep. I would love if this game was ported onto the 360, but i doubt it would be as pleasing of an experience. I'm getting a PS3 for this wonderful game. Buy it!

This game is amazing. The graphics are top notch. Facial emotions, and realism are breathtaking. The story is amazing, and draws you in. Plenty of old characters return in fine form, as well as new characters. I do not have a problem with the long movies, because it immerses me more into the experience. I am not done with this game yet, but I can already see that this is one of the greatest gaming acheivements ever. I would definitely reccomend this to a friend. Buy this game, and you will not be disappointed.

I PERSONALLY LOVE MGS4 I have only played the demo MGS1 and have played MGS2 Sons of liberty before MGS4 so I Knew something about the MGS Franchise,saga,story,HISTORY.I have read almost every review of MGS4 on bestbuy.com and it seems like the people who dont like MGS4 dont like it for this reason only THE CUTSCENCES alright I understand that some people wanted a fast paced game but dont put down the MGS4 or the MGS Franchise for giving you the gamer a GAME and a STORY.Like When I beat MGS4 I understood the story i beat it 4 times now and i am still learning each time.I want to own and beat each game the MGS series start from the beginning then come back to MGS4.I just cant express what i feel for this game.Then people say the dont understand MGS and then say it SUCKS? what is that ?BUT U DO NEED TO PLAY MGS4 ITS THE BEST EVER

This is the type of game that you just cant help getting really involved in. I've played first 3 games so naturally i was very excited about the 4th. I didnt know how i'd like the fact that you're playing Snake as an old man, but the game never once disapointed. The graphics are amazing and the story, although it can get a bit convoluted at times, is very well thought out and interesting. I cant imagine anyone not loving this, particularly if you've played any of the other installments.

Kojima and company score big again with this. Solid snake is one of the most recognizable and significant characthers in video game history. The storyline and plot development for this game and much of the previous 3 MGS games is phenomenal. When playing this game, you truely are invested emotionaly with these characters, especially snake. I can almost feel snakes pain and sadness when i see him suffer on screen. Visuals are awesome, sound is top notch. Tilt and replay value are even better than previous games, with an achievment system and rewards for numerous accounts. If you dont get this game your not human. :)

This is the Best MGS ever. the graphics are outstanding and the game play is exciting. If your a hardcore MGS fan you have to pick this up. If your new to the series its going to be very hard to understand the complex plot. There are tons of weapon options and customization. The octo camo suit is sweet no need to chance camo , it does it it self. The online unfortunately is not very strong. It is fun the first couple hour but it just gets tiring.

This was by far THE BEST investment of my money. I cannot explain how much the Metal Gear Solid series has to offer. The story is outstanding. There are long cutscenes, but totally worth it. You get so in depth with the story it actually feels like you're watching a movie and feeling the soldier's point of view. If you are a new comer in the MGS series, this is definitely worth picking up. You can catch up on the previous games when the MGS HD Collection releases in November. This game is truly an item you DO NOT want to miss out on

Look this game is the best out of the series of metal gears. It has the best story out of all the games in its time. Hideo Kojima out did himself on this one. I would reccomend this game who is intrested in this pretty much interactive movie. You just get so into the game because of the great story and the beautiful graphics. This game is truely amazing. Everybody should play this game and the other metal gears at least once in thier lives.

Folks this by far has ps3's technology at focus when taking in consideration of graphics, I mean, it looks soo beatiful, flawless in performance, and the video that is about 6 to 8 hrs is awesome. Its like, you play the game for an hour, then watch an hour long video back and forth, back and forth. Just simply amazing, excellent story line, soo happy I bought this game, will never get rid of it. I rank this guy 10 out of 10.

i had fun with the previous main titles to this great game but this one im not having that much fun, but thats ok. hate playing with an old man as opposed to what im used to playing with a young middle aged snake. raiden is on here and will prolly take over mgs 5. the initial d/l time to set up the online multiplayer took 4 hours!!! what was that all about, eh? i can't communicate with my headset and theres nothing wrong with it. graphics are amazing. the entire game is based overseas somewhere and it looks like a poor country in a warzone. as opposed to the previous games where you fought in buildings, ships, at sea. this game makes me feel like im in iraq.
