Love Metroid for a long time, and not having a new entire was very sad. Till Dread was announced and finally released. This game does not disappoint at all. It definitely continue the story from the main Metroid storyline not the Prime series. If you love Metroid or a first timer definitely pick it up if you can.

I love the Metroid games, and this is another great addition to the line up.

A chilling challenge for old and new players alike.

The game strikes a great balance between difficulty and fun. In some areas it’s a little easy to get confused as to where to go if you want to 100% the game, but overall exploring every nook is rewarding. The E.M.M.I robots are a great addition, and can be genuinely unnerving!

The game is exactly as advertised and as expected an excellent game.

As a fan of the Metroid series, this is a great installment. Fast paced and true to form, it adds the element of dread by introducing an unkillable robot that stalks you at certain points throughout the game. Slightly more difficult than previous games in the series.

If you like the side scrolling Metroid games, you'll love this one.

I've been looking for a Metroidvania-styled game and was thinking, "Why not just go for the source," and copped this one when I can. I've recently become a fan of Metroid through Dread and Prime Remastered and if you love the series or wanna play a 2D Platformer where you wanna kill some bad guys, go for this!

It is Metroid, it doesn't need explanation. This game is amazing. If you have been a long time fan of Metroid like myself, this is a must have to your Metroid collection. If this is your first time? Then you have chosen the right game to introduce yourself to the Metroid franchise and you will not be disappointed.

This was the first Metroid title I've played since Super Metroid on the Super Nintendo, and I gotta say it really does hold up. It captures the feeling of the older title well, but is very much a brand new game. What it holds in common with the previous it's predecessor is that the controls are really tight, and it holds plenty of secrets. Lots of replay value as you unlock harder difficulties as well. You don't have to worry about missing any of the story if, like me, you haven't stayed in touch--- the game gives a brief overview of the story of all of the titles in between, but mostly I didn't buy it for the story, and that holds strong as well. If you're looking to check this game out, the demo is free on the Nintendo store, it'll let you go through the first hour or two just to get a good feel. I dunno, it's cool and I'm happy to have this Nintendo exclusive on my shelf. Would definitely recommend.

A great evolution of the Metroid formula that brings the series into the modern era of gaming. Metroid, of course, has influenced countless games over these last three decades, and now that influence comes back home. Samus is the most agile she has ever been, and in that movement we see hints of Hollow Knight and Ori. As a result, Metroid Dread has the most satisfying combat of any game in the series thanks to the parry, sliding, and free aim mechanics. True, some of those existed in previous games, but the player was often limited by hardware (looking at you 3DS). Combine that with some of the most interesting enemies in the series, and you won't be disappointed. I would go on about the amazing level design as well, but you could go read about at Polygon, or better yet, play the game for yourself. Whether you are a veteran or a newcomer, this is a great entry in the series ---in my top 3, alongside Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion.

Amazing Nintendo switch game. Need more games like this.

I was a bit skeptical of this when it was released due to it going old school with the partial 2D dynamics but even though that's the case, Samus delivers with loads of gameplay and fun with a difficulty that has a nostalgia from the original. Definitely worth every penny.
