Great 2.5D side scrolling installment in the Metroid franchise. Great graphics, decent enough story and a Top 5 game for Switch owners to have.

This lives up to the hype. Bosses were harder than expected, but very satisfying to defeat. I would recommend this game to any Metroidvania fan.

Bought it as a gift for my nephews. They love it and I was told it was all they wanted to play the next day.

As a long time metroid fan i am happy to say the game is great. I dont really like the emmi enemies but the gameplay is so good i dont care.

The game is amazing. It is a great successor to Metroid Fusion. The story, gameplay, and visuals are so good. I can’t wait for Metroid Prime 4.

Exploration and boss fights are great but you could get lost sometimes

Samus is back in a brand new adventure with themes of horror, as you are continually stalked by an unstoppable force.

I like the game very much. Fast pace action with a lot of power ups. Very good graphics and will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Metroid Dread is one of the more challenging games in the franchise’s catalog. I regularly found myself feeling frustrated but all the more determined after frequently seeing the game over screen time and time again. As a long time Metroid fan, I expected this along with frequently feeling lost in the creative array of varied environments which offer many upgrades, foes, and secrets to discover. The more I explored and discovered, the more powerful I felt finding it easier to transverse through each environment and defeating the alien creatures scattered throughout the map. As a result, Metroid Dread is a welcome addition to the neglected series. Having said this, I can’t help but wish there was more emphasis on story considering this was allegedly the conclusion to a story line beginning over two decades ago. This may not matter to newcomers however. Lastly, once I finished the game after roughly 12 hours of gameplay, I found no desire to replay the game even though it offers a hard mode. Completionists and those who enjoy the abuse may enjoy this however.

Yo! The scare factor of fusion and dread is insane. How can a 2D game impose so much anxiety as if I was playing a 3D horror game?

Waited for an entire semester to buy it but it was worth waiting. Excellent title and perfect for competitive and casual players alike

I am having so much fun with this game. Game play is do smooth, and it's a real challenge... 2 hours just to figure out a boss wow!

I've played every mainline Metroid game (2D and 3D) and this ranks up there in terms of being a top Metroid game. I have only had one time that was incredibly frustrating due to the Camera, all other times I've died it's been learning curve/practice. They've done an excellent job of tight controls and the interconnected aspects of the map. It was a joy to explore, and my kids (who are the age when I first played Metroid on the NES) have enjoyed watching it more than any other game in the series.

Can’t recommend this enough. The gameplay, atmosphere, action, is all great. It’s a return to Metroid that I’m glad to see.

Metroid Dread is my favorite Metroid in the franchise. The graphics and the attention to details by the developers are so impressive. You can youtube all the visual nuances like how Samus’s feet are always flush on the ground even on a ledge or on uneven footing. The game itself is very challenging the first time through and has high replay value to beat on hard. The requirement to beat the game in under 4 hours for max bonus content is extremely challenging but fun.

This a great game worth every penny. Great story very tight gameplay. One of the best Metroid games in a long time.
