Customers are saying
Customers are delighted by the excellent gameplay, overall performance, and well-executed controls of Metroid Dread. Many appreciate the engaging story, exploration, and action-packed nature of the game, while some find the difficulty to be a positive aspect. Criticisms include concerns about certain boss encounters, the price point, and the limited presence of music. Some players also felt the game was a little too linear and that the EMMI zones became repetitive.

Pure Metroid
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an amazing game. In a world filled with Metroidvanias, Metroid Dread is Queen. There’s 10-15 hours of game here, but that’s just it… 10-15 of actual gameplay. It’s not 20 hours if cutscenes and maybe 4-5 hours of gameplay. This is worthy of the full $60 release.

Must Buy Switch Title
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First Metroid game of my own, grew up playing my brothers hand me downs. Excellent foray into the series and genre if this is your first metroid style game, with a lack of waypoints and mission objectives the sense of dread is real and the gameplay tight. Great game all around.

Metroid Dread
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a great game we got. Metroid, a series that should be more common to have sequels to and not every decade. It was great, new, and many more things. Anyone with a switch needs to play this game and have it too so Nintendo sees they need to get on it right away.

Blast from the past
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this as a gift for my friends child. I even wanted to play it because of the nostalgia. I grew up with these games and this one was like a blast from the past. It was not boring or just a copy cat. It was challenging but fun.

Fun game, scary/tense gameplay, skill and puzzle
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I broke the law and my twelve year old nephew played this game (it is rated T- Teen) and it was hilarious watching him play as it's really quite a scary game with those robots chasing you. This game is both skill (hand dexterity) and puzzle difficulty.

Excellent Product: Even for being 2D and $60
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While I was originally skeptical of a 2D game being worth $60, let me say that the amount of value in terms of story, secrets, and power ups truly makes this game well worth the price tag. If your still skeptical like I was, download the demo, but you won’t regret it.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve always been a fan of Metroid, so I decided to get this for my son as a gift. My Intention was to play it after he’s all done with it.. He’s not sharing it so I went out and purchased the special collectors edition for myself. What an excellent game no regrets

Metroid Refined for a more modern time.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dread feels good hands down. There is a sense of suspense, fear and mystery within this game. Each area flows well by giving you clues or hints that you may be coming back to later on in the game. Backtracking if you will. But the nice thing about backtracking in this game is that the game gives you hints that there are areas you can't get to, at least not yet. but when you find the right weapon/upgrade, your gonna enjoy what you find on the other side of "things" blocking your way. The E.M.M.I do a great sense of Conveying a sense of fear and powerlessness akin to Resident Evil's Nemesis. Should a beginner play this game? Depends, this is a side scroller. If you are not into games like Mega man, Castlevania, Hollow Knight or Cuphead, you probably won't like this game. You do enjoy these types of games, yes. Yes absolutely get this game. MercurySteam really refined the Metroid series with this entry.

A must have for any Metroid fan.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't yet finished this game, but I'm definitely planning to give it another go. The atmosphere is spooky. And quite honestly, some of the enemies are quite scary. If you love the Metroid series, get this game.

What a great game!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game that put Metroid in the coined phrase Metroid-vania is back. Definitely a must for the Switch console. If you are expecting something “scary” this is not it. This is a great, suspenseful, 2D scroller (3D graphics) game. I haven’t been able to stop playing!

Metroid Dread is a must own game for the Switch !
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are a Metroid fan or a new comer to the series you will definitely enjoy this game. It may seem a little difficult at times, but I really enjoyed playing in hand held mode. Looks even better on docked mode. This is a must game to add to your collection.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First Metroid game I’ve played in years (last one I played was Metroid Prime on GameCube ) holy heck this is not an issue game but it’s super fun! It’s not very long but it keeps you entertained for a while with all its hidden items that need to be found.

METROID DREAD IS GAME OF THE YEAR
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been waiting almost 20 years for this. Been playing Metroid since I was a kid from Metroid to Metroid Fusion to Metroid Prime, but let me tell you this is hands down my favorite Metroid game of all time. Metroid dominates my game library
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Metroid has finally returned and I can't get enough of it. Wish they would just keep pumping them out. This one is so good and I have been playing it nonstop since I brought it and finally at the end. Sadly will be sad to complete cause it was just so good.

Good to have Samus back
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a long time Metroid fan this game makes me so happy. If you've ever loved any of the older Metroids you will love this game. If you've never played a Metroid game well...I understand it's not for everyone. You will occasionally get lost, boss fights might test your combat skill, the E.M.M.I enemy sections can be very tense, and the story, though very light, might not have as much impact if you haven't played earlier titles. I can't honestly give it an easy recommendation to everyone like you can with a Mario or Zelda game. Unless any one of those things is an absolute deal-breaker though, please give it a shot. With few exceptions, the Metroid series is top of its class. It pioneered a genre and Dread proves that it's still royalty when it comes to "Metroidvania" games. It's just a beautiful, old-fashioned video game full of atmosphere, fair challenge, and awesome sci-fi.

Surprising Favorite
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Never played a game like this or even in this genre, but fell in love very quickly. Shorter game but a visual masterpiece. I followed this up with Hollow Knight and Castlevania advanced collection to fill the time.

Back to 2D Metroid Goodness
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Metroid Dread has been a great return to the 2D Metroid style of game. Samus seems a lot faster now and it is needed. The E.M.M.I. keep you on your toes. If you enjoy a good Metroidvania style game, then look no further. I have a had a lot fun with it !

Such a fun game.
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game can be difficult at first, but the controls are incredible and easy to get used to. I’m really upset this is the final game in the 2D Metroid series because it’s the first I’ve played. I want to play all the others now.
