Surface Duo
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good phone for a person who attends a lot of meetings and needs their Microsoft account with them at all times. However the phone is very laggy and glitchy and the camera isn’t that good.

Not ready for consumers yet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The duo vision had finally come to fruition but unfortunately it's not ready for prime time. Flickers and bugs when rotating the screen or sometimes apps just close in their own. I will say that all the negative reviews around the gesture controls are a little overblown I actually found the gesture controls including the ability to easily move one app from one screen to anothe, or to span the app across both, very intuitive and easy to do after some practice. As a productivity machine this device is not so intuitive for typing unless you're used to one-handed swiping. The alternative is to turn the unit sideways every time you want to compose something actually ends up taking longer then pecking it out with two thumbs on a regular phone. And someone who lives in Outlook in OneNote I was hoping the dual screen scenario would change my mind, but after trying it I can't say that it has made me more productive, just when I see that tiny keyboard stuck to one side of the screen. It's too bad the native swiftkey keyboard could not split across 2 screens regardless of what screens text box you were working in. I just could not get into the flow because I'm not a thumb-swiper when it comes to text input. Aside from the product I have to say that pre ordering process from Best buy was a mistake. I pre-ordered this unit on August 12th and received my unit on September 21st. I was very close to submitting a claim through my credit card company because I could have easily walked in a store and bought that the device but because both Best buy and UPS refuse to help expedite the unit or find out where my unit even was, I was simply forced to wait 11 days past the launch date Sept 10. Through this process I spoke with some very competent customer service folks, unfortunately nothing they did could help me get my unit sooner. Maybe this is just a fluke but I won't be pre-ordering new release products again.

Not worth the price.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a great concept, but Microsoft really dropped the ball as far as performance. Sometimes you literally feel like throwing this thing across the room because of it's lack of responsiveness.

Superior Design but still needs work.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.-Disclaimer I have been given this product to be reviewed by Best Buy Tech Insider Network for my honest review. Ok I’ve been anticipating the Microsoft Surface Duo release for sometime now. Now that I have it let me tell you guys about the pros & cons. Some Pros- The design, out the box it will impress you. Thin and light and feels good to the touch. Made up of all glass. The hinge is also noteworthy. It is the best on the market for this type of this device. You can literally angle it in any direction to get the perfect view, nice and smooth with the perfect resistance. The duals screens are obviously the other feature. You can multitask like there’s no tomorrow. Watch YouTube on one screen while scrolling Instagram or face book on the other. Have a Microsoft teams meeting one one screen while taking notes on One note on the other. There are a lot of possibilities here. Operating system is Android 10. Powered by USB C. Comes with a bumper to protect your phone. 256GB of memory and unlocked. Processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 856. Snappy OS apps open quickly. Some Cons- 11mp camera, not the best camera in today’s market. No NFC, but then again I don’t know much people that use it. Sometimes buggy screen rotation. When having two apps open and you want to rotate the screen in another orientation it sometimes gets it wrong. Then you have to fiddle around to get it to go the way you want it to. Minor annoyance. Sound- it’s not the best but most of us use headphones. Overall I applaud Microsoft for designing a product like this. It is a step in the right direction for the future of phones/tablet multitasking products for consumers like us who enjoy technology. The re nothing like it on the market design wise it’s just the software needs more work, but I understand on a device like this it is hard to do. This phone still has a place for me as I don’t mind the quirks and love new technology.
