Customers are saying

Customers commend the Microsoft Surface Duo 256GB for its dual screens, multitasking capabilities, and stunning design. They appreciate the long battery life and thin profile, which makes it highly portable. However, customers express concerns about the camera quality, software bugs and glitches, and limited RAM, which can hinder multitasking.

I'm a software engineer for a tech company and this great for increasing productivity via mobile multitasking. I would recommend for those who are power users of Office apps. This device requires some learning even for existing Android users. Would recommend trying in store to test the UI before deciding on purchase. Very much state of the art. I upgraded from the Pixel 3 and only miss the voice call assistant screen.

My first android phone and I love it! Took a fsw days to adjust to the os after being a lifetime Phone user. The Duo is well built and isn't too large to fit in your Jean pockets. The battery life is great and you can't beat the dual screens. I would recommend the Microsoft Surface Duo to anyone looking for a phone that can easily connect to your computer and one where you can be productive anywhere you go.

The Surface Duo promises a whole new way of working and it certainly could be game changing. Unfortunately, the software experience and overall clunkiness of the OS and the user interactivity doesn’t justify a very expensive 1st generation device. Wait for the industry to catch up before spending money on this novelty.

I love my new device. Getting used to the new gestures and the fact that it is not just a phone. Screen is amazing. Adjusting to getting used to. Again, not just a phone. Faster than Xperia. Bluetooth is good...I had my text on one side and email on the other. Sounds like nothing, but, I hating swapping around on one screen even before duals were available. I hope it holds up nicely.

I am someone that has always had difficulty typing with the small screen keyboards. Having two screens allows me to use one screen as the keyboard for the app on the other screen. I still need to get used to one camera to use in both directions. Replaced a Pixel 2. Rated value high, once the price was dropped to $699.00 for the 256GB.

Not worth it's original price point. Camera could be better, refresh rate and add 5g. But still an enjoyable device that catches eyes with its sleek/fold design. It charges very quickly and the ability to use apps on both screens separately or at once is a bonus.

WOW - What a Microsoft Device

After having used this device for almost 2 weeks, here is what I love about this device. The two screens act individual from one another.. This means while i may have my emails opened on one screen, i could be looking up information to respond to that email on another screen using Edge. This has proven to be very successful and easy to do for me. The other thing that i like about this device is the speakers are very loud.. Not exactly high quality, but loud enough for me. I am hard of hearing and for me to be able to hear this, means the speakers are definitely loud. If you've done any research on this device then you know the hinge on this thing is amazing, and i can attest to that. If you purchase this device now, you'll need to run several updates to get it to the latest version available. It still runs Android 10 but apparently all the issues that were on this device have been patched since it's original release.

Amazing tool for the wandering worker

I went through three stages so far, upon purchasing my Surface Duo. The first was pure delight at the touch and feel, and then confusion and disappointment when I started using it because of my newness to the gesture controls and frustration over a few glitches, and finally to the stage where I currently stand, which is back to pure delight. I won't repeat the things many other reviewers have stated. I will just say that you really should spend time with the unit before making a final decision on it. Just as many of us had to learn a new hand gesture vocabulary when we started using regular Android or Apple handsets, it will be necessary to get your gestures down pat, upon first using the Duo. When you finally do, it will become as intuitive as your old phone. But why am I so delighted with it? It does what it said it would do, which is offer a new level of productivity for a device that fits in your pocket. This tool is great for anyone who does a lot of moving around in their work, such as restaurant managers, medical professionals, reporters, etc. I am a business owner and writer, as well as an avid reader and media consumer, and this is the best device I have used for mobile productivity and entertainment. Lastly, It's also a decent phone.

I'm loving the two screens! I wasn't sure at first since Samsung has their new phone, but I wanted to try the duo out and you would be surprised how much more you can do when you have the two screens! It's like having two monitors on your computer. I'm already so use to this phone it's going to be hard swapping back to only one screen if I have two.

This phone/tablet is the most practical device I have ever had. I am a very gadget guy and normally buy the latest phone, tablets...etc. Since I am using Microsoft Surface Duo I hardly use my Mac Pro laptop. I can do whatever I need and run my business with it anywhere I am.

I loved the hardware. I was willing to learn all the new interactions. I was also willing to give up certain conveniences that I've grown used to (.e.g. car dash mounts, peaking at the screen without opening the phone, taking a quick photo without opening the phone.) in order to gain more appreciation for the new use cases that it introduces. It all went down hill when my Duo couldn't hold a phone conversion (up to my ear, or in speaker phone mode) for more than a few minutes (or even seconds). THAT was the deal breaker. I even tried my best not to touch either screen, holding just the edges, to eliminate the chance that it was my face hitting the end call button. Didn't matter. In one case it dropped the call right after the person on the other end said hello and right before I got a chance to speak. That being said, I give it 3 stars (minus 2 stars primarily for standard call behavior issues) because of how amazing everything else was about it.

This phone isn't for everyone. Despite the phone with slight bugs and glitches, it's great. The device runs fine for last year's processor and the only time it slowed down was because of the bugs. Other than that,I enjoy using it. I would advise for you to get this on sale or wait until a better software update will fix all of the issues.

This product has met and succeeded my expectations. I’m a Apple Guy who has every product that Apple has made. This is my first time owning a non apple device and I am pleased. It helps me with my Ph.D Courses by allowing me to work using two screens. This device comes highly recommended from me to anyone.

So this was delayed since 2018. So worth it. They last minute switched to Android , since new windows 10x not ready. Has few glitches that the monthly updates will fix. Nothing major like reviews state. YOU just gotta learn the tons of gestures . Otherwise you can turn it all off in settings. Worth it way more the fold 2 , especially if you sign documents and want real glass big screen.

At first, I was in love with the phone, I loved the multi-tasking options and the big screen(s), but as time passed I noticed some major setbacks. I wish the camera was of better quality. Also, the phone began glitching. It was having trouble unlocking. The screen would unlock but it would be a black screen. After sever attempts, I would have to restart the phone to be able to use it properly. Lastly, the biggest problem was that I could make and receive calls, but I could send or receive messages. I am unable to text using this phone. If someone would like to use this phone just as a mini laptop or a tablet, then I recommended it, but not as a phone.
