Great productivity phone.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Game changing phone for work or play. I can access multiple work emails at the same time. I can surf the web and watch Netflix. The multi uses are endless. The only issue is the swipes and commands take time to get used to. But once you start using it every day it becomes second nature.

Not ready for prime time
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great idea, but not ready for prime time. Software is glitchy, and the camera is garbage. Maybe version 2 will be better. I hope so, because the hardware is very cool.

Surface Duo 1 does more
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really nice value at its current price. It does as much or more than other more expensive phones. That said, I do not need a great camera for my purposes. I need the productivity and appreciate the dual screens and pen support.

Incredible deal on these
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great value tablet! I cant believe how cheap I got these for, Must have been a price error or something cuz it was totally worth the $400 I paid. Excellent screen and specs. It was a little bigger than I thought they would be.

My favorite phone, ever
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hesitated nine months before purchasing the Duo, but I feel that I picked the right time to make the move. The software now feels solid, especially for a long-long-time Surface user and fan. The interface seemed a bit cumbersome for this almost ten year droid user, but the power that brings will not having me heading back to the bland world of Sammy phones. I don't yet know if I needed the extra 128GB, but at the price difference at the time, the choice seemed inconsequential. I especially like the fact that I can carry one stylus for use on the Duo, my Surface Pros and Surface Book, without any compromise. I'm also a die-hard I7 fan, but the Duo performance has not disappointed me in any way. I was hesitant to hold off on migrating to 5G, but the Duo feels much more responsive than my Note9 did.

Surface Duo
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a different type of phone. I find it fills the space between my Note 20 ultra and Surface Pro 7 extremely well. It's first Generation, It's thin, well built, I would have been happier if it came with Windows 10 mobile, it was not in the cards

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this could be a great item to have it is difficult to set up and difficult to maneuver. I love the conditions of the Duo however it needs to be able to be user-friendly. My daughter is able to maneuver this device and it has great Microsoft products as well as the content.

Good piece
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's OK I much rather have a Windows OS, but being in a socialist society I have no say. It also has only one color; Glacier White. OMG I am a biker who does his own work. White is not a good thing. It does work better than a standard Android thank God.

It will revolutionize how phones are used..
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product. Screen is sometimes unresponsive but I am sure an update or so will fix that. at least I hope. Also I cant find WiFi calling on it anywhere. does it not offer that? I think it a great step forward and will help many business people be more productive at all times..

5 stars easy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Zero issues with my Duo. Had the Fold last year so was somewhat prepared for the learning curve with this device. Good Job Microsoft.... Only thing I would change would be a better camera.... But overall, love the device.

Usable But Not Great
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works great as a tablet but the phone app is not great. I use it on speakerphone mostly because it is awkward to hold to your face. The absence of a back button is annoying and the swipe up to close is not present on every app.

A little Annoyed
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A little annoyed with the performance. Keeps dropping active calls even while stationary, and keeps resetting back to home page every time i am working in any application. And annoyed it doesn't support wireless charging. I brought the phone, never seeing it before. Best Buy had none on display. I was shocked after opening it an see a glass back on a phone that you cant place a protective case on while using. I am assuming I have a new defective phone, returning as soon as I can get a best buy appointment. I will see if a replacement have the same first issues.

Duo the right thing & try this out.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to give this 5 stars. I had both the HTC & lumia smart phones with windows mobile. I have also had many iPhones. Which yes is great for a all in one person. I would give it 4 stars for the camera however this impressed me the most for what I wanted! The split screen really comes in handy; on avg I have the screen just flipped facing me at all times instead of closed. This has a gorgeous display! Load up youtube in edge browser to watch 4k quality. Yeah Android is a little different however no regrets with this purchase. It was expensive however I used Dr phone to transfer my text messages from my iPhone 11 pro to here. Just need to be in usb debug mode which search you know where lol.

This device is something different
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn’t really sure what to expect from the Surface Duo, but when I first saw it in person, I understood what the fuss what about. I can confirm: the hardware is simply fantastic! Yes, the hinges are buttery smooth. Yes, the device is incredibly thin, even when folded. However it’s also pretty wide. I have large hands and it still takes some getting used to. But this is a first-generation product and there are some surprising shortcomings: 1) The Surface Duo appears to be using a pared down version of Microsoft Launcher. The one available in the Google Play Store has far more customization. Unfortunately, you can’t replace it (at least for now). 2) The unit has a single speaker, and it’s not particularly that great. 3) The Camera is OK. Like many cheaper ones, it takes decent pictures with ample light; but when it gets dark, the results are horrible. 4) The system seemed a little buggy at times. I experienced apps crashing and screen flickering. After a decent reboot (and keeping to the stock Launcher) the unit now behaves pretty well. 5) The finger gestures take some getting used to. 6) There is no microSD slot. You’re stuck with the storage you bought plus any cloud space you may have. 7) No wireless changing. Of all the other compromises, I really miss this one the most. 8) The included bumper feels like an afterthought and is a lint magnet if you put it in your pocket. 9) Without the bumper, the Duo is slick and can be a little slippery. I'm terrified I'm going to drop this thing. 10) The Surface Duo uses an older processor, but it doesn't suffer from any slowness at all. There are many things that I think can be fixed with future software upgrades and I’m looking forward to seeing them. The question is whether or not this new way of using a phone is useful…or is meant for everyone. To be clear, I really don’t see the Surface Duo as being another phone; it’s more a productivity device – a PDA, which is exactly how I use smartphones in general. I barely make actuals calls on them. Sure, holding the Duo up to your ears is still awkward because of its size; but this is a device to actually do things on…though not as geared towards multimedia as its recent competitors. I wasn’t sure if I could really use this device to replace my phone. But then it happened… I was sitting down. I opened the Surface Duo and watched a livestream on one screen while browsing the web on the other. Then I had the Outlook app open and could browse my inbox on the left while reading messages on the right. I’m not swapping apps on the same screen, but instead having them side-by-side. I honestly didn’t take this concept seriously until I found myself doing it A LOT. THIS is what the Surface Duo was meant for, and I’m really appreciating it now. With that said, I’m not really sure this device is for many people. It comes at a steep price point for lacking some basic functionality (NFC, wireless charging, mediocre camera and speakers, older processor). But again, this is a first-generation product, so it's not surprising that it hasn't been a perfect experience just yet. However, If Microsoft takes the different reviews and real-life feedback into consideration, the next version of the Surface Do will be unstoppable...and perhaps that next version will be the real one to buy. I'm giving the Surface Duo 4 stars. It is a fantastic first attempt at something new, but has some flaws with its execution. Taking all of this into consideration, I'm not sure that this first-gen device is really a good choice for most smartphone users.
