I was contemplating getting this device due to the reviews I have seen but in the end I bought it anyway and must say that I am glad I made the right choice. I am not a heavy user , more of web browsing , some light gaming and work material and I can say that this device does it all. I purchased the keyboard and pen to accent the device more and it actually came in handy. The 4gb was enough for me since I added a 64gb sd card. I am still running windows S since all the programs I need are in the store .

    Great alternative to typical tablets

In our home we already own a powerful laptop and a newer iPad. I wanted a different tablet other then an iPad because I always feel restricted on file management and I've been converting over to Android base systems. After looking at different Android based tablets around the ~$200 price range i came away disappointed at they screen resolutions and lack of different manufacturers/models. As I walked around the store and seen this and it cought my eye because it was the same size as tablets and the resolution was very impressive. I wasn't sure how it would perform being a Windows based machine and being used as a tablet and the fact it only had 4gb of ram, but after a week of using it I'm pretty impressed and happy with the purchase. Pros: Applications are endless because it's a PC It actually works good as a tablet Top notch design and construction Cons: App store has nothing Google! Battery life is no where compared to iPads Windows Home S that comes with it is worthless, the app store doesn't have enough apps to only be limited to it & you can't download programs like Chome browser! (I would have returned it just because of this, but luckily you can disable S mode and it will behave like a normal PC)

You won't be using this like an iPad, and you shouldn't expect to. But this Surface Go is a great option for someone who needs an ultra portable laptop without wanting the big price tag. Definitely not for gaming, but this device has been smooth and functional since I got it a little over a month ago. You'll definitely want to pair it with a keyboard, so be sure to factor that into the price.

I'm returning tomorrow. I actually like this product. It's faster than I thought it would be, I love how the pen attaches to the side, and how with the keyboard its a tight little powerhouse. I just can't justify nearly $500 for 3 hours of battery life. The iPad is cheaper and more fluid. I use Sketchbook ALOT and constantly having to re-touch to rotate the sketch was just too much. The device does get hot and to me for the amount of power I'm asking for shouldn't heat up this thing. I've had the newest iPad and gave it away, I've realized that ALL these devices DO the same thing. Whether it's an iPad or a Surface Go, I'm doing the same things. The biggest compelling reason in iPad Os, though the iPad still has a screen that makes me look like I'm playing with a Fisher Price toy, at the end of the day it is smoother in every aspect. I'LL REALLY MISS THAT TRACKPAD THOUGH !

Is this a tablet? Yes! Is it a computer? Yes! And it's great at both!! Are you going to be running a game at 60FPS and top graphics? NO!! Are you going to be watching Netflix, running office, checking emails, and so on? YES!!! It can even do basic photo editing with ease!! My wife and I picked up two of these and I am using my GO more than my PRO 4... It's size is amazing, it's performance is fine.. It kills the Ipad Pro just because it can run real software and not just apps (Must turn off S mode) Battery life is fine.. Overall Microsoft has a winner here and one that I hope does well and isn't abandoned!

Great for a college student, very light weight and very portable. I wish it came with the keyboard, and the battery life was a bit longer. I had preordered mine, and got it the day it came out, so far no problems with it, I personally love this computer/tablet. It can be fully used as a tablet without the keyboard.

    Great Device for the Money

I bought this little guy exclusively for Microsoft excel work as I finish up my undergrad. It honestly is perfect for a college student who needs something simple to just do school work on. It can be a little slow when downloading data files that I'm importing into Excel, but it's to be expected considering the guts of this machine. All in all, I would highly recommend to anyone who needs a specific device for office suite work, but not for anything more than that.

    Now my most used computer

I bought the go for work, but it became my most used computer at home. I can do a lot of light work on it when paired with the pen and keyboard, but then I found it comfortable and useful for personal video watching and web surfing. I still have a surface pro 3, I just like the form factor of the go better as a personal pc that can also get some work done. For work I use word, and excel and one note, and some photo editing in paint.net and sketchable. I find the cheaper Go is keeping up with my needs just fine. No regrets.

    Switching out S mode

Went from a dell laptop to the new surface go for school and so far I really like it. I did have some issues switching out of the S mode, which almost made me return. I couldn't get it to upgrade out of it no matter how many times I tried, so I had to chat with tech support. They had me reset my PC and try again. At first it still didn't want to work but the very next day I tried again and it finally worked! I didn't have to worry about purchasing Microsoft Pro. Just give it time.. Thought I would review that in case anyone else had the same issue.
