Ugly software and just plain odd
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setting it up, it did not allow me to use my gmail email and wanted me to use a Microsoft email instead, ridiculous! I just skipped that step and went to download google chrome but it did not let me download any other web explorer, fox, chrome, etc. It only allows windows edge AKA internet explorer, which no one uses because it lacks quality. The way the entire screen is set up was plain odd. It did not look like a tablet software, it looked exactly like a computure looks but smaller. It only allows you to download things in microsoft store. I just had it for 30 mins and already decided that I hated it and will return it the next day.

Posted .Hello,
Thanks for taking the time to reach out. We're truly sorry to hear you had some difficulties setting up your Surface Go, and we want you to know our team is here to help. Surface Go comes standard in S mode, which is a security measure that only allows you to download apps from the Microsoft Store. To download additional apps that are not available in the Microsoft Store you'll need to switch your Surface Go out of S mode, which you can learn how to do here: https://aka.ms/AA4rbqo.
We sincerely hope that helps.
Kindly,
Heather

No Google is Disappointing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking forward to the Surface Go. Seemed like a perfect size, so I was very disappointed that I could not download Google Chrome. I'll be returning it.

Posted .Hi Cathie,
We regret to hear you were disappointed with the Surface Go. We have received some feedback from other customers who purchased this device, and they have been successful in downloading Google Chrome after converting their operating system from Windows 10 S, to Windows Home Edition. Please note that if you choose to convert the OS, you may not switch back to S mode in the future. Here's how you can make the switch: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4023898/windows-10-switching-out-of-s-mode.
We hope this helps!
Kind regards,
Jessica

Nice, Over Priced though
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. An excellent item, but I feel it is slightly overpriced if you buy the keyboard, pen and a bag, thats pretty much close to $700!

Some good, some bad, more frustration
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had my surface go for about a month. My main reason for selecting the surface go as a replacement for my old ipad was to have a portable tablet that would be more compatible with microsoft office products. In that regard it is a better performer than the ipad. The problem I have is my browsers, both edge and chrome, often have trouble calling up webpages and I have noticed the download of graphics in emails is sluggish. In this regard my old ipad was a much better performer. I ran the network troubleshooter and I am getting an error that windows cannot automatically detect this network's proxy settings. I do not have a proxy server selected in my internet connection setting, I have tried the microsoft virtual agent which has not been helpful and I can't figure out how to actually contact a real person at microsoft for support. The one year warranty isn't very helpful if you can't actually contact anyone. Not to mention when you go through all the effort to fill out a form on a webpage, then hit submit, it fails, and you have to start all over again ...or worse, if your making a purchase and you don't want to take the risk of a double order - well I have about had it with the performance of my Surface Go. It's disappointing because I was happy and excited at first with the Windows based tablet and pc like operation.

Worst Purchase I've Ever Made
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I should have bought an iPad...… From the beginning I have been frustrated. I spent $500 on this and the accessories only for the screen to randomly go black with no way to fix it except for turning it on and off again a random number of times until it decides to work again. It doesn't consistently connect to wifi and will tell me that it is "unable to connect" to networks that it has previously connected to and my other devices connect fine to. Don't even get me started on OneNote deleting all of my files and never syncing. I bought this to make my job in the field easier and all it has done is cause me grief and hours more work. My advise is to avoid this product at all cost and shell out a little bit more money for something that will consistently work.

Buyer's remorse, big time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hate this device. I researched it and consulted at length with sales reps on two different occasions to make sure I was getting the right thing for my needs (creating simple documents, watching videos and playing simple games.) Doing it all on one device was very appealing. But, there have been issues: The Touch Screen doesn't work unless you use very hard pressure; adjusting the sensitivity under settings makes no difference. The Taskbar does not respond unless using portrait mode. I thought it was user error on my part since I had no experience with a Microsoft device. However, the Microsoft user's forum shows other users having the same problems. Also, there aren't many apps available compared to Apple and Google stores. Unfortunately, I've probably waited too long to return it since I bought it before it was even available in the store. If I could redo my purchase, I would buy a cheap Chromebook and a cheap tablet (and still save money!)

Disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have only had this computer for 3 years, didn't use it too often and I only had a few apps on it. I would updated as much as it said it needed and never dropped, dinged, or even got a scratch on it. Yet it doesn't work anymore. It won't turn on, it won't charge etc. Waste of money and of course I'm now out of warranty.

Not very good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had a Surface Go for about a year. Big mistake. Underpowered, keyboard is tacky and cheap. One small port. Many tasks, such as bluetooth are very hit and miss. Would have been better just having a phone and a laptop/
