Not worth the money!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this Surface Go 3 to replace a much older Surface Pro which was not Win 11 compatible and running slow. I was excited at first with the new Go 3. Then it started hanging during Windows updates. Also, when running a task such as Windows Updates or creating a recovery drive, the screen would lock up where you could not do anything to get back into the device. Sorry I ever purchased this device.

Very unsatisfied!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this several weeks ago, only to find out it had a cracked screen. It was sent in for a replacement, but was sent to the wrong state. Last week they said they would get it straightened out, and keep me updated. I haven’t heard anything else, and am quite frustrated. Please get my a replacement now!

Disappointing
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very underwhelmed with this product. Very expensive (which I don't care about price) but totally not worth it performance wise. Heavy, Slow, and I was sold a USED item as a NEW item. Kind of BS

Fantastic tablet
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am so happy I was able to get one of these. I've been looking forward to having a new tablet and this one does not disappoint. Set up takes a little time, if you're familiar with windows PCs you'll immediately feel familiar with the OS, as it's windows 11. Not too different from Windows 10 so it's very easy to navigate if you're familiar with that OS. Sound and picture quality are excellent. Setting up was pretty simple. My only concern is dropping this thing. I'm not sure how durable it is and don't intend to find out. The kickstand on this is fantastic. It feels extremely durable. Having this in the kitchen while cooking is that convenience I thought I'd never care about. Microsoft has knocked it out of the park with this product.

Not a great performer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Microsoft - Surface Go 3 – 10.5” Touch-Screen – Intel Pentium Gold – 8GB Memory -128GB SSD-Device Only (Latest Model) - Platinum This gen Surface Go 3 surprised me but not in a good way. I still use an original Surface 3 from years ago to stream music from my network server. It has served me very well for many years. But if you're asking me would I recommend this Surface Go 3 I would have to sadly say no. It’s a nice enough consumer content streamer if you are using Windows. But I think that’s about as far as I can go. It does have some nice tech but honestly nothing really new or even new for the Surface line. It still has a great formfactor, the stand is a legend, it has always had a very nice display and Microsoft has a well earned reputation for the quality of their products. But when letting my wife borrow it for an evening I kept hearing the same comment about how slow it is. This was not a nerd like me. This was a typical user steaming YouTube and reading FaceBook and I was not at all surprised by her comments. I don’t know if Microsoft is on automatic here. I sure hope they're not really trying because this is just a big miss for me. And it seems clear they have just underpowered this device. And to add insult to injury they must be testing a different device then I am as I cannot imagine how you would get, “all-day” battery use. I get maybe 4 hours at best of continuous use. That seems well short of this claim. Like any product purchase I am good as long as I know what to expect and I am always glad to be surprised. For the Surface Go 3 plan on very light use to keep it enjoyable. And if you do happen to do serious work you probably are not going to be enjoying it much. A swiss army knife this is not. I do want to give a shot out about Windows 11. It looks really good on this screen. I have found the window borders, notifications, menus and setting screens to be very well done. The taskbar is much more unified and I like it. I have much more to explore here but it looks very modern and clean. I do like what I see so far.

Octogenerian's Disappontment
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let's start with some good things. The Surface Go 3 was a pleasure to get started. Once I logged on under my existing MS ID, everything pretty much fell in to place. It imported most of my settings, especially my Edge settings and look. Of considerable significance it brought forward my logins for virtually everything I use regularly. I must admit though I am not a fan of the new Stsrt screen. I understand there is a way to revert to the older screen but I wanted to use the new Surface. That said, finding the apps I use and wanted was not so difficult. I did go thorugh Start and eliminate apps I did not want, i.e., anything to do with games/gaming, photo manipulation, etc. and tried to focus on the thingsthis old man does on a daily basis. One very pleasant discover was the video quality. I am not a gamer to any value there is wasted on me. But I did try watching some videos on YouTube, a film (Knight & Day), and found the video quality better than anything I had before seen. Images were crystal clear, contrast was wonderful even in dark places. I fortuitously discovered theapp for YouTube TV and after installing that watched some newscasts, comedy, and football. Again the picture quality is outstanding. If the quality is likewise found in gaming apps, then gamers should really enjoy this. The overall size of the Surface is that of a tablet and for me (and for many users I think) will be used more as a tablet than for any serious computing or work. All in all I think the Surface Go 3 is a fine if limited use addition to the lineup. If asked I would recommend but with the observations above. I would also suggest they hold out for a larger true laptop if that is what they're needing.

Glad to have this one
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've taken a look at Microsoft Surface devices before, but did not make the move until seeing this tablet. I am a quick fan of this one, having spent a few days using it. The screen is very vivid, the battery life is good, and the performance is decent for this form factor. After giving it a run-through for web browsing, I've given it a spin with the standard Office applications - and my overall experience is quite good. The built-in camera has worked well in video calls, and the sound was surprisingly good for the form factor. The built-in "kick stand" is also handy for standing the device. Overall, I really like this one...

Checks All My Boxes!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Microsoft has taken my desktop and squeezed it into a 10 inch tablet like the Wonka factory and I got a golden ticket. As I'm writing this I have split screen watching my local weather channel on mute, listening to my music app. Yes,3 things at once on my tablet running with no problems. Check: Windows 11 Check: An affordable surface product to compete with Android and Apple. Check: Front and rear cameras for Microsoft team calls and taking pics (nothing fancy but again affordable). Check: Can use Pen for drawing or touching up pics. Check: 1080p/60htz with HDR is fine with me, keep cost down still looks good to me. Check: Battery life, I binged watched 6hrs still had 15% battery life. Remember to adjust screen brightness lower when watching. Check: Game play with no problems on Xbox game pass. Bluetooth my controller. Check: 3.5mm jack for headphones. Some products don't have this anymore. Check: Sound is really good. I have had two laptops in past that u couldn't hear them unless you had headphones in, so annoying. Check: Edge browser, somethings just don't work other browsers. Check: Expandable memory slot for micro sd. Check; USB slot, have to buy adapter but at least it's capable. i could keep going but I'll wrap up by saying this tablet has had no problem doing every task I threw at it in a weeks time I've had it. I love it so far

Can't Use Most of Your Current Software...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really excited about receiving this new Microsoft Surface Go 3 with Windows 11. Getting a new operating system is normally exciting for me. A new OS presents new challenges, and the fun of checking out all of the new features, and hoping that my favorite features haven't been removed. At this point, I'm not loving this latest Windows iteration. The first thing I do when I get a new computer is load my favorite programs, and hope that they're compatible with the latest software version. However, trying to load your usual Windows programs may be a bit of a hassle, because Windows 11 has what's called S Mode. S Mode is a version of Windows that offers enhanced security and performance. In S Mode, Windows will only run apps acquired from the Microsoft Store. If you want to run your usual programs you’ll have to exit the S Mode, (and lose your security protection). If you so choose to opt out of S mode, you can’t go back to it, You'll be stuck with the standard version of Windows 11. But at least you won’t be subjected to having to get your apps exclusively from the Microsoft Store. Since I have several programs I regularly use that aren’t currently available in the Microsoft Store, I’ll probably opt out the S mode. Want to use your current virus protection? All of the popular antivirus software programs aren’t compatible with Windows 11 in S mode. The only antivirus available in S Mode is Windows Defender. You’re also stuck with Microsoft Edge as a web browser; in fact, if you try to download a different browser, you’re greeted with a message, recommending you keep using Edge (then it won't allow you install it). The tablet's overall performance is just okay. At least the battery life seems to be impressive. I purchased the attachable keyboard designed for this tablet, it makes a big difference. Microsoft seems to have instituted a closed shop with regard to Windows 11. Since I really like my usual apps, I'll be opting out of S Mode, since none of the apps in the Microsoft Store appeal to me as a worthy substitute.

Unusable after it finishes all its updates
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When i first booted it up it ran ok, a half second to respond to button clicks but that was fine. After all the updates, however, not only did the free storage space go from 80 gb to 70 gb, but now it can't even have 2 tabs in edge open without the "page unresponsive" pop up. It runs super hot without any programs open, and even pulling up task manager takes multiple attempts. Once task manager is finally open, i get to see the cpu keep spiking to 100% utilization for long periods of time, sometimes dropping a bit then going right back. It seems Edge keeps maxing out the CPU, even though its not even open. I tried to delete edge but it's impossible because it's baked into the system. I am so disappointed, i bought this hoping to have a light laptop to take to coffee shops and do light writing on, but it can't even run a single tab in edge. I wish i had kept the box so u could return it. I will never buy a Microsoft product again, my Samsung s10+ runs more efficiently and effectively than this surface :( and it wasn't even the 4gb 64gb surface go 3, I had the 8gb 128gb. Too much baked in bloatware, would not recommend.
