The Microsoft Surface Go 3 with the just released new Windows 11 make a surprisingly good team and add up to pretty good tablet overall. Note that the Go 3 is using Windows 11 in “S mode” which only allows the use of apps obtained from the Microsoft Store, so if you will need other apps you must switch to Windows 11 Home (or Windows 11 Pro at extra cost.) I plan to leave the Go in S mode, but the option will be available if my plans change. My initial impressions of the Go 3 are that it is a well made device and it arrived in perfect condition with no physical flaws that I can find. I like the size, weight and overall feel of the device. It powered on quickly and arrived with a 50% charge, and of course downloaded the latest updates and the initial set up was easy. In my use, which consists of web browsing, video watching, listening to music, browsing through my photos and other basic tasks I got about 5 hours of screen on time, with about 30 hours of stand-by (which caused a minimal power drain) before the device powered off. This is a below average battery life in my opinion, and is this device’s major drawback. Charge time from zero to full charge was about 2 1/2 hours using the included Microsoft Connect charger. The Go 3 is capable of charging via the USB C port, and I used a 45 watt charger and got a full charge in just over 2 hours. A zero to 50% charge took about 70 min versus 40 min with USB C charger. I would rate the screen as very good. It is bright, crisp and has good viewing angles. The dual front-firing speakers are very good as well. The inclusion of a headphone jack and Micro SD card slot, which are rapidly disappearing in most devices, is very much appreciated. As for general performance, the Go 3 is good, but slightly laggy, and jittery when browsing photos, or websites with a lot of photo content. I am not a gamer so I can’t really comment on that aspect. In summary I like the Surface Go 3 quite a lot and I think it is a capable tablet. If you are looking for a device to replace a laptop, I would recommend looking at the Surface Pro model, but if you want a good tablet experience, the Surface Go 3 is a fine choice.

I bought this tablet because I wanted the size and I wanted Windows 11. The product is half at best! - It runs Windows S by default and cautions you from converting to full Windows 11. You must do this because the Windows S store has no apps you want. - The pen technology that should be the main source of input only works on one app and the Edge browser, your main app, isn't one of them. - The onscreen keyboard refuses to launch not matter how many times I mash the button. - Cortana refuse to launch no matter how many times you smash that button. - The hardware is under powered as I can count to 5 before an app will open. What does work, which I can only name one app that does, works well. The potential is there but Microsoft should ashamed they ever released this garbage device.

My sister got this for herself. She said she needed someone more like a laptop but not really one. She hase used mine cause I have the first version of this.

Love combination of computer and tablet. Able to bring it every I go if necessary. Easy to use and Battery life is great

Operates ok, battery life doesn’t match up with the advertising, doesn’t interface at all with iPhone, very few apps to choose from. Planning to trade it in. Would not recommend to anyone with Apple products, or that wants to use apps.

It’s terrible. For the price of $499 it is working as slow as fire tablet for $50. Sound is not loud and clear. Display is okay for price. It’s getting very hot, charging is very slow.

I bought one for my daughter i just know she’s going to love it. Cant wait until she open it on Christmas.

I bought this surface on April 6, 2023 and had to return it to Geek Squad for repair on May 31, 2023. The processor has failed-very disappointing!

Bought this for my husband to use for work, he loves it. It up loads faster then his old one that he had. The colors are AWSOME.
