Was in the market for a work laptop to utilize throughout the day in and out of the office. This laptop checks all the boxes; fast, efficient, beautiful sleek design, and lightweight. Long lasting battery and fast charge. I would recommend purchasing a sleeve for the laptop immediately as it scratches easy and is way to pretty for scratches.

Shopped around looking for the right size, fit, compatablility for my use. Tired of the bigger laptop, which was 17' and quite heavy. The weight is just perfect whether in my carry bag or backpack. Lasting battery, and ease of use. Definitely in love with the processing speed. No endless waiting on things to load and/or download.

My wife wanted a new computer as our 10 year old HP has been driving her nuts just as it is outdated and slow compared to computers nowadays. I actually sent her to Best Buy to pick out her own computer because it was “hers.” She was dead set on picking up a Mac Book when she left the house. Once she got to Best Buy she realized how great this computer can be. She lives the touch screen as well. It may have been the one aspect that out her over the edge on this one. I have a touch screen for my work computer and have shown her how easily they can be manipulated to speed up multiple actions. She has taken to the computer and loves how light it is as well. One of the things that I can even admit about our old HP is how touchy the touchpad was. There were times that we’d be typing and our hand accidentally hit it and we’d click somewhere inside the document this editing the wrong portion and creating a headache of extra work trying to fix those mistakes. This touchpad is very response but through our use we haven’t not even close to that being an issue. I love her choice and this was definitely a welcome addition in our house as now I can also use this computer for my work purposes as well.

If you are looking for a good looking design, good build quality, and strong performance it's hard to look past the Surface Laptop. Sure, it's not a 2-In-1 like it's siblings but it stands strong as a thin and light device. The touchscreen works fantastically and the display itself is bright and crisp though it does have some glare. Performance with the 10th Gen Intel processors will please anyone and is fast and snappy due to the lack of junkware bundled in the OS. Microsoft likes to keep Windows free of clutter in their Surface devices and IMO makes it worth the premium price to not have to deal with bunches of trialware and extra license agreements. If you're willing to spend a little more the Surface Dock makes it easy to have a nice workstation setup for school or work projects with a single cable to connect or disconnect when you want to get more done or take it on the run. Overall, a highly recommended product.

Bought this because my surface book 2 died and needed a laptop for cheap and I am insanely impressed by this thing. Graduated recently, but as a student this thing was amazing. Slid right into my backpack, super slim and super light. Not amazing specs but you don’t feel the consequences of it. Seriously recommend. I also really love the design of the laptop overall. I should also mention Surface devices are a slightly taller dimension which is AMAZING for productivity. You can see so much more and going to 19:10 is always hard after using it for a while. Great screen quality as well.

The first thing you notice is the look and feel of the laptop, has a nice grounded weight to it, but easy to carry around in a backpack with a laptop sleeve. As far as the processor goes, no complaints so far, but I do have to say that with extended use you do here a slight buzzing. It's only happen a few times and that's when I've been using it for hours and plugging and unplugging the charger. Battery life, its okay... obviously during quarantine I now have my laptop charger easily accessible since I'm in class 6 hours a day on Zoom and also browsing the interwebs during lunch, it uses a lot of juice. Overall thoughts, I enjoy the look of the laptop and the ease of use. Highly recommend.

I've only had the Surface Laptop 3 for a couple weeks now, so I don't know how it'll hold up in the long term. However, right now, it seems to be a pretty good laptop with an EXCELLENT keyboard (for a laptop anyway). It has a few bugs like any new release. On mine, the brightness likes to change depending on what's on the screen, even with adaptive brightness turned off. The battery life is okay. I get roughly eight hours of Youtube playback (using Edge Beta) on battery saver mode without anything else running. One thing I LOVE about this laptop is that it runs so quietly. The only times the fans have even made noise is when I was installing updates for the first time and when I drained the battery to basically empty, then recharged it while using it. It does get pretty warm while doing that. The fans made a quiet whooshing noise instead of a high pitched whine like my old laptop did. The screen gets pretty bright and is nice and sharp. It does take a bit of getting used to having a taller screen though. I've only ever had the widescreen versions of laptops before. I've really come to like having the taller screen. I do a lot of reading on the computer and it's nice to have more screen real estate without going too large. I like the sleek minimal design of the chassis; however, the corners are sharp and can leave marks on your legs if using the laptop in your lap.

I got this laptop for working from home, and light travel. The Surface 3 looks very premium, and it is lighter than the 13 MacBook Pro and Razer Blade 13. This laptop does everything well. It has the latest 10th gen i5 quad core, 8 thread Intel processor along with Iris Plus graphic card. It is also running the CPU at 25 watts instead of 15 watts on some other 13 inch laptops, which makes it really snappy. The keyboard is great, but not excellent. Build quality is on par with MacBook Pro, which is a good thing. I would say this is one of the best 13 inch portable Windows laptop out there. With that being said, I am going to exchange this model for the 16GB version, which comes with the 10th gen i7 CPU as well. I feel like the 8GB ram won't be enough for some of the applications that I will be using. Also, the Iris Plus graphic card is sharing the ram as well. Lack of thunderbolt 3 support is also a big disappointment especially all the other 10th gen Intel laptops have it. Lastly, the glossy screen is a little distracting for me. Overall, the Surface 3 is great light and powerful ultralight laptop. I would go for the 16GB, i7 set up as the SSD is somewhat replaceable. Don't get it if you need thunderbolt 3 support and you can't stand glossy screens.

Great, so far! Recommend a protector. Great touchscreen! Battery life, eh. Seems like the settings probably matter more than I've cared to work with them. When I fire up Adobe Fresco, the surface wants to change its power settings to get peak performance. Then, later it's in my bag. I take it out to use in class, low battery. I recommend buying more than one cord to keep in bag, near couch, at desk, etc. Also, didn't need a docking station, was able to buy two usb-c to HDMI cables to make duo monitors work.

I bought this on a whim because my old laptop was dying on me. The guy told me it wouldn't overheat, it had more than enough memory for what I needed to do (aka write papers and assignments) and it's super light. I was sold! The only thing that I don't know if some of you might need is that it doesnt have a number pad on the side of the letters. It has the numbers on top in a straight line but if you're looking for a laptop with the number pad kind of like how it is on a calculator to do math assignments, you might want to keep looking. But other than that, this is perfect :D you could also buy one of those number pad things on the side, just saying '\'.'/`

Awesome performance, solid battery life, AMAZING design and build quality. This is a great option for school or road warriors that need a solid build, good performance, a big and sharp useable screen with its taller aspect ratio, very good backlit keyboard and large and accurate trackpad. The speakers sound great and get VERY loud and are very clear. the windows hello face recognition log in is still fast and accurate and I enjoy it much more than the touch ID in my M1 Macbook pro.

I was afraid to buy this at first because I had a friend talk about how she hated hers. Well I can’t find a single thing that she said didn’t work. This laptop is great. I bought it because I am in grad school and suddenly have to work from home. My old laptop couldn’t keep up with the program demands that I use for work. This hasn’t had a problem yet. It’s light- very portable and I love the keys. It’s been very fast and responsive. Sometimes it even works better than my office computer. I highly recommend this product.

Simply put, this is the practical and stylish PC that we've all hoped for. It is as beautiful as anything from Apple, as productive as anything from Dell, as capable at casual gaming as anything from ASUS and overall simply pleasing. I say this, because these are all the other computers in my home. The Surface Laptop 3 is my wife's work computer, and it excels for this purpose. The screen is the absolute best for real world productivity. Word documents and Excel spreadsheets display on this aspect ratio much better than anything made for movies and games. The speakers must be implementing some kind of magic, as they are hidden under the keyboard, yet sound better than any other computer we own. The keyboard is much more pleasing to use than our Dell, ASUS, and especially that crazy Apply keyboard. (Though, I have a high-end HP Chromebook keyboard that surprisingly comes close.) The track pad is perfectly gauged with the default sensitivity. We've used the built in camera and mic extensively for Web-based meetings (Zoom, Go-to-meeting, Webex) and I'm happy to report that the video and mic quality matches or exceeds what we see anyone else has built in their PC. The battery life is amazing. With real-world work related use, my wife is getting 2-3 days of use without charging. That's at a few hours of MS Office and Google web app use per day (and facebook when she sneaks that in). The magnetic charge port is a winner as well. Several times our dog has tripped over the power chord, and while the chord popped lose and went flying, the laptop never moved. It does exactly what it is made to do! The engineers deserve an award for this one. While my son likes his loud fan, short battery, high end gaming ASUS ROG, and my daughter loves the fact that there is an apple on her computer, I have to say, if I'm buying a straight forward, dependable, VERY capable computer for anyone doing actual work on their machine, I'd recommend the Surface laptop above all others.

I wanted to love this laptop - it has such an elegant design and seems like the perfect ultrabook; but, unfortunately, strange bugs and poor quality control make this laptop miss the mark. First, let's talk about the positive. This is probably one of the nicest looking and feeling laptops I have ever used. It's refined form factor, sleek angles. and light weight exude a premium feel. I also really like the alcantra fabric keyboard, and it's a real shame Microsoft only offered this option on a limited number of configurations. The keyboard and trackpad are also positives - both are incredibly responsive and have a great feel to them. In addition, the touchscreen is incredibly responsive and useful (Apple - take note - touchscreens are not a bad thing). Despite these refined features, the device ends up feeling cheap after only a few hours of use. For one, there is horrendous light-bleeding along the bottom edge of the screen. Second, the auto-brightness is erratic and downright annoying - seemingly adjusting for no rhyme or reason every few seconds - yes, you can disable this setting, but I have a hard time accepting that as a solution to a problem. Finally, the speakers on my unit would periodically emit a popping sound; I suspect this is something that is software versus hardware related, but it's an unsettling sign for a brand new laptop. Windows is better than ever, but it's still plagued by a frustrating update process and random bugs - Windows updates seem to bring more problems than they solve, and Microsoft really needs to figure out a better process for ensuring update releases that people can trust. In the brief time I spent with the laptop I found performance to be adequate for normal tasks. Overall, this is not the laptop for me - too many minor bugs and glitches add up to taint what is otherwise a potential game-changing laptop. Maybe next year, Microsoft....

It's a good laptop and sufficient for most needs. I use it almost everyday and feels great and comfortable. The battery life is also great too. I work zoom on it everyday for school and such and it works great too. Small size also helps it fit most bags. The touch screen and screen size are a great addition to the great laptop in general. Havent had any problems with it since I got it so we are hoping to stay that way.
