When it works, it works great. But we’ve had to replace it twice within the past year.

I am not sure if I got he right refurbish surface here. The description say it's the "latest" version, but I am not sure. It has window 7 OS; Edge does not work, and most everything does not work properly.
Disappointed with the purchase.

I'm an Apple fanboy and still am however, I changed jobs and now I'm a Mortgage Loan Officer with a small broker and they use a processing system called LQB and it's a cloud based app. Unfortunately it doesn't work with MacOS or else you wouldn't find me here. I absolutely love my Late 2012 MacBook Pro 13" Retina display. For a while, I was thinking about switching to the new MacBook Pro's but I didn't want to go with the "none touchbar" model. The model I wanted would cost me over $2k and I wasn't ready for that. That being said, I decided to buy a Surface Pro bc I needed something that's portable and uses IE11 bc that's the program we need to use to operate our processing program called LQB. My boss lets me work from home sometimes and I couldn't do much but answer emails bc I didn't have a Windows computer. When I was searching for a Laptop, I didn't like what was out there so I decided to give the Surface Pro a try bc I love the fact that it is a tablet and with the keyboard, turns into a laptop.
I've only had the SP4 for a few days and I have no complaints about the computer, or do you call it a laptop. or do you call it a tablet? Well, whatever you call it, it is the perfect solution for me. It's big enough to do the job I want it to do and it's compact enough for me to bring to work everyday. I love the keyboard, but I don't like the fact you have to buy it separately. I think it should be included when you buy the tablet bc it's relatively useless without the keyboard bc using the onscreen keyboard is just plan stupid unless you are just drawing on it all the time and all the notes that you take are handwritten notes. If that's the case, I would suggest that you go with an Apple iPad Pro 12.9". It's bigger and better than the SP4 if you're just going to do drawing or taking notes and don't need the MS Office applications.
Overall, I would take the SP4 over the iPad Pro bc of my needs. I also like the keyboard better than the keyboard they offer you with Apple's iPad Pro 12.9". I know bc I have one of those too. Before this laptop, I was only an Apple user and it's served me well over the years until now. My job forced me to upgrade to an Windows laptop which is fine. I love it and I can't ask for a better device.
If you're on the fence, buy it and try it out. You'll love the keyboard and everything else about the laptop. Esp since it's so compact and easy to carry around with you.
I'm not so sure I like the battery on this laptop but it's probably bc the keyboard is connected to the tablet and it uses lights which in turn uses up battery. THat's where it separate it from a laptop but the battery is still not that bad. If I use it solely as a tablet it is about the same as the iPad Pro but if you use it with the keyboard, then I would say it's about a 75% difference which isn't bad.
Just get the darn thing!

I only got this because I have a work program which doesn’t work on Mac and this fits in my Kavu bag. It regularly locks up, the password is inconsistent. I’m not a fan of the pen in comparison to the iPad pro’s.

I bought this $800 Surface Pro to replace my $300 ASUS tablet so that I can make presentations during meetings. To my surprise, it just does not connect to Samsung TVs using an mini display port to HDMI adapter. This is something I have been doing for two years with my ASUS Tablet and is essential for my job. Some upgrade. Thanks Microsoft for making something routine so painful!

So i went to the bestbuy to try and find a portable laptop for school. Ended up buying this product which was an open-box model. When I got home and tried to set it up, there was absolutely no icons or anything on it. Contacted Microsoft for help, after 3 reboots and trying to force internet explorer into it nothing worked and had to return the product.

It didn’t even last a week! The blue screen of death! (Bad hd). Not very user friendly. Hard to use on lap with keyboard. Don’t recommend buying yet. It’s a great idea but needs improvement.

I was looking for a new tablet / laptop replacement and the timing could not have been better. I'm on the go a lot so weight matters, but the new Surface Pro is super light. When I'm working, I need to run some heavier programs, and the 7th Gen Kaby Lake processor was such a smart choice on Microsoft's part. I really like the new type covers and I might have to get one of those too...

I keep trying to find a reason to resent spending this much on this but find nothing to regret. Seldom regret buying upper end as it fades fades but going cheap annoys me forever with tools. This is no exception.
. I intended to get an OK Windows device that was good enough and dual boot it with Chromium. Turns out this rivals a Chromebook speed wise and may be able to become a dedicated Microsofter again. I only need Windows compatibility, perhaps once a month. So am a fan of Chrome speed most of the time.
I also have not loaded the Surface Pro with much. Nor have I decrapified either. Still blazing fast!
Bottom line;
Well worth it. Never regret a good tool. Regret a cheap one forever. Well, for it's forever.

I use this mainly as note taking tablet, and it runs windows 10, so it's a full computer. Touchscreen writes really nice with the stylus pen. Basically seamless access and compatibility using programs like word, excel, etc. I have all notes to all my classes over the last 3yrs accessible on tap. it's all on cloud so never worry about losing your files. Just get a microsoft office subscription or some schools give you for free. Just make sure you get a good protector case and Geeksquad protection, it will be worth it they are really good. This one is a great daily computer. By far the best computer in my opinion.
