This is my first tablet and it is great. The price was a little high but it is worth it.

    The BEST Windows Tablet

I have tried a couple of different Windows Tablets. They have been OK but were lacking in key areas - such as horsepower and/or stylus/digitizer. I decided to simply get the Surface Pro 2 and I simply LOVE it. It has all the functionality I need and accessories that work well (i.e. Type cover 2 keyboard and stylus). I regret wasting time and money on cheaper windows tablets.

    Replacing Multiple Devices With This

This one device is allowing me to replace my MacBook Air & iPad mini. It also allows me to be more productive on one device, rather than using several different devices. No issues so far.

I wonder if this was the right choice

When I purchased the Surface Pro I thought it would solve all my problems, wrong! I wanted a computer for work and play. My iPad is a mobile device so I could not have access like a PC.....the Surface allows full access but freezes up and is slow. Very frustrating! Also, the store does not have tiles/apps like the iPad. I end up having to use the desktop and so what's the point of the tiles/apps if they are not very functionable?? I already had to reset the who computer because it kept freezing up on me. Also, it get hot sometimes and then the screen will just start going darker for no reason. Weird. Bestbuy only gives you 14 days for returns. NOT ENOUGH TIME TO TEST COMPUTER OUT.

Poor Design; Fails With Microsofts Own Hotmail

    Posted .

Considering it's all solid state and has a so, so processor the machine performs as expected. The dearth of quality applications and the inability to sync Hotmail means that the machine becomes more of a burden if you're not using what it comes with or your expect to take care of anything you might use a real PC or an android device for. I accomplish more with the android devices we use at home and the full Windows PC. Windows 8 and this machine have been more of a hassle and I feel I've wasted money on the Surface. In all fairness, I'm a developer and have high expectations for a PC. Surface Pro does not meet those expectations and I would consider it a loss.

All I can say is WOW... I upgraded from a Samsung 10.1 Note... Absolutely no comparison. Sound is surprisingly good, also.

    Misleading setup

The first thing I noticed is how loose the main power plug was in the socket. When I went to sign on to my home network, I mistyped one character. My bad!. But the unit said "cannot connect to the internet. Try again later." Just about every other sign on procedure on earth will give you a message that prompts you to try again. Knowing this was a possibility, I re-entered and it worked. Soon, on another screen I found that the back/delete key was inoperable. Maybe this machine is wonderful, but I'll never know it. My starting experience is sending me back with a return. I have both windows and mac cpus and other devices, and this initial experience is not acceptable. The iPad air comes out next week. I can trust that what I get will work right away. I'll write a review.

    Besieged by problems

I am an I.T. person and have had several tablets including Android variants and an iPad so I was looking forward to a Windows tablet. The Surface Pro 2 I recently purchased is a disappointment. The battery life was not the advertised 8 hours, however the December Firmware update from Microsoft was supposed to rectify that. Unfortunately, now after applying the firmware update any SD card causes the CPU to clock at 30% or so (System/Kernel Task) and the Type Cover Telemetry Driver has problems (Device not found). The SD Card I purchased was based on the Microsoft Compatibility Center, however I see that card is no longer listed. Many people are having problems with the update so if you enjoy wasting time on an expensive tablet and having features that do not work, this is the tablet for you.

    Heavy, Small Screen

This tablet is too small, thick, and too heavy to be very portable. The optional Microsoft keyboard is completely flat so it's impossible to type (since you can't feel the keys).

    Good Concept - Bad Release

I've already returned one thinking something was wrong with it because of lag time of about 30 seconds when swiping the screen. I figured out what the issue was after I got the 2nd one and did the exact same thing. When putting battering in "power saver" mode it cause the lag time. Also Best Buy's website lists the device as having an SD card slot but in fact it is a Micro SD Slot and only comes with one USB slot

    Terribly made

This product is incredibly poorly made. We bought these for our entire workforce less that a month ago and we've already had more than one simply drop dead. Buy anything but this. I can only presume that these other reviewers just use theirs for looking at pictures of cats. We are returning EVERY ONE of them.
