Excellent Product, Amazing tool
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product has exceeded my expectations. It is probably the best Non-Apple device I have ever used. Its flawless, speedy, and is excellent for a student or for someone is looking for a laptop replacement. The 12 inch screen is absolutely gorgeous and it is not that as you might think. The ability to take notes freehand and it turn it into text is probably one of the best tools for a student. Amazing product.

not happy with product and service
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I do not know much about computers and wish they had explained that you do not move files from my old computer to my surface3. Because of this I am going to look elsewhere where I can get more help next time.

Great idea from MS
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to return first purchase. It wouldnt charge the battery. Replacement seems to work though. Tablet not as good as my iPad but combo allowing me to use MS Office very worthwhile.

Gorgeous device seriously flawed for me
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Since I returned the SP3, I'll keep my review short. There is no arguing... the SP3 is a wonder to hold and use. It's super light, fast and the screen is incredible. Well, unless your eyes are bad or you use any of Adobe's products. The issue here is the hi DPI screen and Microsoft's choice to use a 3:2 format rather than a 16:9. The hi DPI causes major issues with Photoshop due to it containing a lot of legacy code. It cannot scale the UI elements and menus which leaves pressing your nose against the screen. I have the same issue with Nightingale, my music player. There are work arounds for both but neither is for the faint of heart. The 3:2 causes issues in several areas. The first... for some odd reason MS decided NOT to include a 1:1 lower resolution to adjust the DPI of the screen?! By lowering the screen resolution you can improve the size of text and icons. However the only resolutions offered do not translate into a full screen and cause letter boxing. These are the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. Also, if you plan on watching movies, same as above. Since most movies are recorded wide screen, You will end up with very large black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. I wanted to love this device but my needs just couldn't be met with it.

Amazing machine!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I could go on and on about the Surface Pro 3, but why bother when all I need to say is AMAZING! I was very skeptical about the tagline in the MS commercials when they say "the tablet that will replace your computer" but by God, I have replaced my IdeaPad with the SP3. I have the docking station, the ethernet-to-USB adapter, a Microsoft Surface Arc bluetooth mouse, the keyboard, and two monitors. When I have it docked, I actually have three monitors, as the SP3 display is a third monitor. I use the OneNote application with the SP3 pen to hand write notes at work all day long. Fantastic applications/software and device. If you are on the fence, and like me you have been wanting a tablet that will do everything that a laptop/desktop will, this is for you - just go buy it!

touch is too sensitive.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The touch screen is horrible. 3/4 of the screen does not respond. Sometimes I;m no where near the tablet and the touch is going crazy opening multiple apps and opening multiple draft e-mails.... All on it's own!

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the size. Took some getting use to since I had a huge laptop. Once I got use to its easy to carry around. It's fast and easy to understand. Good for students.

Works great as a tablet or laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super portable - hooked up a dvd drive to the usb port and watched a movie on a plane - portable and easy to use. Loaded Microsoft Office to replace my laptop, plus can detach the keyboard and makes a great tablet.

Great for students
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I brought my Surface Pro 3 to replace my Android tablet. When you look at the SP3 as just a tablet, there is one obvious drawback, the lack of the overall amount off apps in the Windows App Store when you compare it to Android & iOS. However, you can install desktop applications on the SP3. The Windows App Store has most of the general apps that people use on tablets (Facebook, Twitter, Netflix, Hulu, Skype, etc.) But for apps like Youtube and instagram, there are only non-official apps to simulate the official ones. The SP3 is a really great device for any student or working professional looking for something as powerful as a laptop mixed with the portability of a tablet.
