I did a lot of research before going with the i3 version of the Surface Pro 3. I don't plan to do a lot of demanding gaming, but plan to make heavy use of browser, office and photo editing software. This device handles all very smoothly. I have been pleasantly surprised with the performance of the "low-end" model. Minecraft also runs very smoothly (~45fps) for lovers of less demanding games, FYI. Really, I only deducted one value point for the costly optional keyboard.

Love this device. I hated carrying tablet plus laptop, and often times I needed both. Now I have one and my product is much higher.... can't wait for them to add 4G feature. Plus the touch feature and drawing feature has been a blessing with my learning challenged son.

I bought this to replace an older computer and an older iPad. I love this tablet. It is easy to use and light enough to be portable. I would recommend it. A great tablet.

Just bought this for one of our sons for college. So far it is great for him allows him to take notes in class, keep everything safe with onedrive. He loves that it is small, compact and does everything he needs for college. The main thing is to get full functionality you MUST get the docking station, without the dock I found that there are not enough USB ports and the 1 port does not seem to work at USB 3 speed. Overall great device, I just bought a similar size Android tablet and now going to switch to one of these.

There are literally hundreds of tablets and laptops on the market, so it's very difficult to pick out the "best" one--until now. Due to Microsoft's attention to enhancing product development, they have finally struck perfect balance of the best-of-breed of tablet and laptop--the Surface Pro 3. I chose the Core i3 model due to the fact that I am not a business, but a heavy user of social media with light amounts of productivity. The form factor is perfect for portability--lightweight and multi-position kickstand. I use this device on my lap, on the kitchen counter while cooking and on my desktop as a full-fledged workstation. With all the ports anybody needs to have, a full-version of Windows OS, as well as a fantastic stylus, this tablet can take on Ultrabooks with ease. The system is buttery smooth and while I have only 27GB of free space left on the SDD, there is an expansion slot for additional media. Front-facing speakers and a high-Def display makes multimedia a pure joy. As a tablet, I have full access to all traditional Windows programs, Windows 8 modern apps and all Android apps #via BlueStacks#. That's impressive. While it was a little pricey, it is definitely worth every penny!

I received the surface pro 3 as a present for school. after using it and done lots of research I realized how much I love the capabilities and features that go along with the pro and it's pen, especially with OneNote. I even took it back for a 2 in 1 laptop and hated it bc it was bulky and not the same. I wanted the surface pro 3 back and got it. Absolutely love it, can't imagine not having it!

    LOVE the SURFACE Pro

I purchased the Surface Pro 3 just recently after doing extensive reviews of tablets/notebooks as replacements to my bulky, nearly 4 lb work laptop. I've been 100% satisfied. It's fast, does everything that I need and has become a complete replacement to my work laptop. I travel extensively and this is a joy to travel with. I to had a problem with it turning on (as described in another post#. I was able to use my smartphone to quickly look up the resolution on Bing #hold the power key on while depressing the + key) and this solved the problem. I use the tablet writing feature now to take all my notes while with clients and it's easy and hassle free. I've not touched my old Dell laptop in weeks and hope that I never need to. MSFT, you were spot on with this product.

I am very happy with my Surface. I used the free upgrade to Windows 10. I had some issues with the pen but it was a dead AAAA battery. Given the Surface Pro 4 release and the additional features this is still a more cost effective option with minimal difference.

I like it because I can install software on it. Its much easier & lighter to travel with than my laptop. However, if you are planning on being on the internet very much, do not buy this unless you have lots of patience. Every time I start the Surface, it kicks my wireless internet out so that has to be restarted in order to work. Then, it is constantly loosing the internet connection for no reason. I check other devices while the Surface can't find the net and they are working perfectly so I know the problem isn't with the net, it's with the Surface. All in all, very disappointing product to me.

Purchased 3 months ago and still very impressed! Upgraded it to Windows 10 last week and it has been flawless so far- I've even noticed slightly better power consumption and responsiveness.

The Surface Pro 3 is a great device that allows you to transition between a Desktop or Laptop to tablet all using the same design layout. Now with Windows 10 on my systems it just got even better.

This is a great product but Best Buy has a typo on the specifications. The Height is not 0.4 inches and the depth is not 7.9 inches. I think they mixed these numbers up.

I am a first year college student and I was looking for a computer that would hopefully last all four years of my college career. I had researched the best computers for my situation as I am going for fashion design. I had read all the reviews of this surface and with a 4.7 star review out of 5 you would think it is a pretty good computer. I had bought it and brought it home with me and right off the bat it was much slower than I had expected. The boot up and sign in were very slow compared to my 6 and a half year old computer from Walmart, which is kind of sad to say. The on screen keyboard was also a problem. When you fist turn it on, you have to sign in but a lot of the times the keyboard would never show up for me to type in my password. The fact that I had to carry around a separate physical keyboard was also very annoying because I did not want to pay 150 dollars for the keyboard that you would think would come with it. The price is also very high which is a problem. I returned my surface and got a 180 dollar hp stream computer that works so much quicker and easier than this surface.
