Great Portable Computer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been pretty happy with this computer. It extremely portable and easy to use. I did buy the external keyboard cover because sometimes using the on screen keyboard is clumsy and doesn't work the best. Once I got the keyboard cover, no issues.

Small size, but Windows is still Windows
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a Mac user exclusively since 2008. I decided to try Windows again (in 2021) to see what's changed. Also, I've been wanting a tablet/touch-screen Mac for years, and the iPad just isn't it. GOOD: The surface is a really nice machine for its size. I was able to run Premiere Pro and edit FX9/a7SIII files (from an external drive) which really surprised me. The keyboard have a nice feel, and they're not all that heavy compared to similar offerings for iPads. The backlit keys were a nice touch. NOT GREAT: Windows is still slow & generally not as streamlined of a UX as Mac OS. The colors of the screen aren't nearly as accurate (or pleasant) as iPads/Macs. The display is also probably half the brightness of a 12.9" iPad Pro. So, back it went. Even though it didn't work for me; if you are a Windows user and want a touch-screen PC in a small package that's fairly powerful, I'd recommend giving the Surface a try.

Expensive, but useful tablet.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never wanted to buy a tablet, but this one fits the bill as a tablet and computer. The taptop does pretty much everything a computer does in a much smaller package. Keyboard sold seperately (...yea cash grab on Microsoft's part)

great option
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After using the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 for four years, I can confidently say that it has been a reliable and versatile device that’s served me well for both work and personal use. While it may not be the newest kid on the block, its performance and build quality have stood the test of time. Here’s my long-term review, including the pros and the areas where it shows some wear after consistent use. Durability and Design (4/5): The build quality of the Surface Pro 7 is still impressive even after daily use. The magnesium alloy body has held up remarkably well, with only minor scuffs along the edges from being thrown into bags and carried around constantly. The kickstand remains sturdy and flexible, allowing me to position it at different angles for typing, drawing, or just watching content. However, after four years, I’ve noticed some minor wear on the detachable Type Cover, especially with the keys. They still function well, but the backlit keys show some fading, and the trackpad has a bit of wear. Overall, the design is timeless, and I still appreciate how slim and portable it is. Display (5/5): The 12.3” PixelSense touchscreen remains one of the highlights. Even after four years, the colors are vibrant, and the resolution is sharp enough for editing photos, reading, or watching videos. There’s no noticeable drop in touch accuracy, and it still works seamlessly with the Surface Pen, which I’ve used extensively for note-taking and sketching. The screen brightness has held up well, although it doesn’t get as bright as some of the newer models in outdoor conditions. Still, for indoor use, it’s more than sufficient. Performance (4.5/5): Powered by an Intel Core i7 processor and 16GB of RAM, this device was a beast when I first got it, and even now, it still handles most of what I throw at it with ease. Multitasking is a breeze—I can run multiple apps like Photoshop, web browsers with numerous tabs, and even some light gaming without significant slowdown. That said, after four years, I do notice that it occasionally takes a little longer to boot up or load heavy programs compared to when it was new. It’s not a huge deal, but there is a slight drop in speed with the latest updates and programs becoming more resource-intensive. The 256GB SSD has been reliable, although I had to use an external hard drive for larger files. Battery Life (3.5/5): When I first got the Surface Pro 7, the battery life was stellar, easily giving me 9-10 hours on a single charge for light use like browsing and note-taking. However, after four years, battery life has diminished somewhat. I now get around 5-6 hours on average, and if I’m doing more intensive tasks like video editing or streaming, it drops to about 4 hours. While that’s still decent for a device this old, it’s something to consider if you’re planning to rely on it for long periods without access to a charger. On the plus side, the fast charging feature still works great—it can get the battery up to 80% in about an hour, which has saved me in more than a few tight situations. Portability and Connectivity (4/5): One of the best features of the Surface Pro 7 is its portability. Even after all this time, it’s still incredibly light and easy to carry around. The USB-C port has been a useful addition for connecting modern peripherals, but I wish it had Thunderbolt support, especially as more devices are moving toward that standard. The tablet mode is handy, though I don’t use it as much as I thought I would. When paired with the Type Cover, it truly shines as a laptop replacement. Audio and Camera (4/5): The speakers are surprisingly good for such a slim device, delivering clear sound that’s great for video calls, music, and streaming. The front-facing 5MP camera is perfect for video conferences, which became essential for me during remote work. The rear camera, while functional, is something I rarely use, but it works well enough for scanning documents or quick snaps. Final Verdict: After four years, the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 has proven to be a dependable and versatile device that’s aged well, even if the battery life has diminished and there are slight signs of wear. The Intel Core i7 and 16GB RAM configuration has continued to serve me well for everyday tasks and professional work, and the portability makes it ideal for anyone who needs power on the go. If you’re looking for a reliable workhorse that balances the functionality of a laptop and the convenience of a tablet, the Surface Pro 7 is still a great option, though the newer models may offer better performance and battery life for current buyers. Rating after 4 years: 8.5/10

Easy to set up & start using
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am an Apple consumer, I had to purchase this computer for work. It was very easy to set up & use, it doesn't have all the features that a Mac does, but I am not well versed in them either. Light weight, and I really do like the ability to use it as a tablet if needed.
