I am enjoying this tablet quite a bit. I've been finding it so convenient and light that I'll be leaving my (admittedly older) laptop at home more often. Almost everything I need to do, I can do with this. Please note that I have the Surface paired with a Surface Pro Signature Keyboard, which I love, and which raises my estimation of the tablet. Without the keyboard, I'd likely rate it a half a star lower, but only because I value the keyboard as an input device more than using the tablet's screen keyboard. To begin with, it has a good size screen that's clear, colorful, and sharp. The touch screen is accurate and responsive. Setup was quick and painless. I got my Office apps up and running quickly and started doing my work. This was exactly the experience I was hoping for. Booting up is quick and easy. The power cord connection isn't exactly standard, but I don't expect to lose or damage the cord. Charging is quick enough. My first task for the new Surface was to watch the World Cup. No lags. Great picture. And my teams won. I'm taking it as an omen.

It has served me well for almost 4 years. It is reliable, durable and has great performance . I find it very useful for my travels and for college work . It has enough space to handle all my files . It is never slow. One of my better buys .

I got this to test so I did not purchase it. I was able to set this up my self and get the keyboard attached. It is fairly intuitive to set up, which is good since I usually need to hire my neighbor to set up new computers for me. I generally use a desk top computer or my mini iPad. The pro was very similar to my desk top and if you used Microsoft 365, this would be a great addition since you could access all of your Word, Excel and Power Point from the cloud. The Pro was slightly lighter in weight than my Laptop. The Pro was similar to the large IPad but has more functionality. The 8 GB didn’t seem like much storage for the price. It could be used with or without the keyboard. Computer devices like this all depend on what it is needed for and which functions you need. If you are just reading news on line or doing email, the. I would stick with an IPad. But if you are a professional that wants to have access to documents on the go or during a commute, than this would be a great addition.

The Surface Pro 9 is the main choice for a tablet/laptop and handles itself well. With amazing screen resolution and a precise touch screen, it makes working a breeze and relaxing the most enjoyable. Out of the box is the Surface Pro, A charging brick and cables, and a little bit of paperwork. The Surface Pro comes with a solid brown screen protector that needs to be removed before use. On the protector though it does point out all of the locations of your accessory ports and buttons. You will probably want to fully charge the tablet once removing it from the box. It has a proprietary charging adapter that plugs in from either direction and can not be used on other devices, but it is small and easy to move and plug in. It uses magnets to seat itself and hold itself to the charging port. It works really well. The power brick is a bit smaller than a laptops, but is also handy as it comes with a USB port for charging. The Surface Pro is a bit lacking on peripherals, as it only has 2 thunderbolt ports (which is used for charging), and a mini sd card slot. You are only going to be able to use a bluetooth mouse to connect that way if you are wanting to use a mouse. Overall the Surface Pro 9 manages mostly like a laptop but with Windows 11, you can switch into tablet mode easily and switch back when you want to use it as a laptop with a connected keyboard. The back of the Surface pro folds open into a kickstand which is great for working or watching movies. One downside is that you can not download games like an android device as it is a windows device so even though it is a tablet, you can not access play store android games. There are some really good apps for using the tablet features and make using the Surface Pro an ease. The sound quality of the tablet is pretty decent and can get fairly loud. I like to say with any tablet or laptop that a bluetooth audio source is going to be your best friend if you are wanting good audio output. The Surface pro also has a front and rearward facing camera and mic which looks good and has a good resolution for zoom calls or just taking pictures. This Surface Pro only comes with an Intel I5 which is on the lower side of computing but handles pretty well being put through its paces. You can do some gaming on it that is not very graphics intensive, but mostly this is used for office and productivity work. Overall I would greatly recommend the Surface Pro 9 if you want to enjoy the benefits of a tablet and a laptop, while keeping a minimal workspace footprint. I highly recommend also adding the keyboard accessory which turns the tablet into a portfolio for screen protection and has a stylus pen with it as well.

This is my 4th Surface Pro since they came out. Here is my grind! It seems the Microsoft rather than trying to provide the best bang for buck simply forces you to spend more and more money!!! I bought this unit with certain expectations based on the previous models that I have owned only to be shorted! Gone is the USB A which is what is most commonly used. In its place are two USB C connections. I have found this transition to be forced and very irritating! Having to buy extra products I didn't need. Granted it is a superior connection. There is enough room on the side of these for multiple connections of every type you can imagine. It's like they are in bed with the manufacturer of this particular connector, Then there is the lack of the mini-SD card port on the back of this unit. My previous model I had the 256 SSD as well as the 256 mini SD for an unbeatable combination. So here is my final take on this unit. Performance is a solid 9. However, the extremely poor flexibility of this unit drops my rating to a solid 2 and nothing more. In all honesty, I have liked all of my surface pro's. However, they always seem to short you on ports one way or the other. Microsoft can do better and should be for the money they are charging for these units! One final note, having to pay an extra $179.00 for a keyboard is just ridiculous. Same keyboard that used to be $99.00? Then if you want a keyboard with a little pocket in it for your $100.00 pen, that keyboard is $279.00? What? I am thinking this is going to be my last Surface Pro. Thinking about just taking this one back and going a different route altogether for much less...

Had a surface book 2 prior to this for college and loved it, but always liked the smaller profile of the main surface lineup so I decided to get one of these and love it, good processing power! And enjoy the detachable keyboard and pen for sure!

I had been using this for weeks now. Decent device, works well but sometimes requires a restart (rarely) when things hung up. Probably because of my usage.

Very convenient to carry. Works extremely well. I've had the 7 and 8. The 9 is faster with a better battery.

Love this! Wanted it for illustrating books and it works perfectly for me. I no longer need my phone and chrome book to complete my task.

Have been using different versions of the surface pro for almost 10 years. Although every now and then I have to restart to resync pen I am very happy with my purchase. It is the perfect device for a busy student who needs to multitask.
