​Rating: 1 Star (would give 0 if I could) ​ Review: I have not written a negative review in at least five years, but the performance of this headset is so pathetic that I feel obligated to warn others. Do not make the same mistake I did. ​ Build Quality Issues Straight Away: Right out of the box, the right ear volume adjustment knob was squeaky. I dismissed this as a minor annoyance since I keep my head still, but it was a sign of the low quality to come. ​ Bluetooth Failure: I could not get this "Microsoft" headset to pair with my Microsoft Surface (Windows 11) via Bluetooth. Meanwhile, my older Sony WF-1000XM4 noise-canceling earbuds paired with the same laptop instantly. ​ The "Wireless" Nightmare: Because this headset lacks a dedicated dongle, the connection to the Xbox Series X is incredibly fragile. I experienced immediate interference. Being tech-savvy, I went into my router admin settings and manually switched my 2.4 GHz network from "auto" to the least busy channel to clear the airwaves. That worked... for a moment. Then, conveniently three weeks after purchase (just outside the return window), the headset began playing the Xbox "device connected" hum every three minutes during gameplay. It creates a constant loop of audio interruptions on top of the existing static. ​ Fails Even as a Wired Headset: Driven crazy by the connection drops, I gave up on "wireless" and connected it directly to the console using a brand new 12-foot USB-A to USB-C cable. The result? The headset still played the connection hum every three minutes, but now it also introduced new interference that my party members could hear. It is practically unusable in both wireless and wired modes. ​ The Verdict: I spent hours troubleshooting this. I even utilized Gemini 3 Pro and ChatGPT 5.2 to diagnose the logs and behavior; both independently concluded the hardware was faulty and should be returned. Since I am past the return window, I am stuck with a $110 paperweight. I have since switched to my PC and a SteelSeries headset that actually works. ​Save your money and your sanity—buy literally anything else.
