It totally helps preventing damage and scratching when you accidentally bump into something. I believe these are essential, and come in two different colors. I use the clear one more than the other color because it matches my band.

Great if you're a new apple watch ower

This is a great starter pack of bumpers (protective case around the sides/not on the screen) to get my watch protected, and the colors are neutral and go with many outfit combinations.
