It is with the ability to register the product with the manufacturer. It was a pain in the tail to do. And I had to do it 3 separate times since I got three of these cables. But the cables are grear. The gold really helps to keep the sound and piture quality at the highest level.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yes, Monster Cables tend to be fairly more expensive than the other cables out there, but in my mind, they made a solid product that matches and fits perfectly with the higher end audio/video equipment in my home theater. The cheaper products feel just that, "cheap". These cables don't feel cheap and fit nice and snugly into the ports.
