Works reliably well.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used it with both Astound/RCN/WOW/whatever they're calling themselves now, as well as Comcast/Xfinity. This modem has never been the cause of any internet outage. I don't always get the full internet speed. Not sure if that's attributable to this modem or my ISP, but I'd bet its a problem with my ISP. Main complaint is that I can't turn down the brightness of the LEDs. (Note, at the time of purchase a year ago, the price was 150. At the time of review, it was 190)

Great Cable Modem
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extremely easy to configure with Comcast. Took me all of about five minutes to unbox it, request the boot file and configuration, and be up and running with internet. I only knock one star because there is no speed test in the admin settings and I don’t have a multi gig Ethernet device to hook up and verify I’m getting my correct speeds. I was pulling about 942/35 on a 1200/35 plan which is still nothing to bock at and 940 is about the limitation of a 1gig Ethernet so it was expected.

Great alternative to Xfinity bloat HW
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This modem is rock solid. It gives me 1.5 Gig of Xfinity internet speeds without all the Wifi Junk that I dont need. I have this connected to my Orbi and everything is working wonderfully.

Possibly the best cable modem out there
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought for use with Suddenlink. Setup was easy with just one phone call. I have 200mbs plan, and I get 208mbs down on a good night. This modem is overkill for my data plan, but I wanted to future-proof.

Love that 2.5 Gbps network port!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I already had the ARRIS SB8200 with the same Broadcom® BCM3390 chipset. However, my Comcast internet service just went up to 1.2 Gbps and the ARRIS did not have a 2.5 Gbps network port. My ASUS ROG GT-AX11000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Gaming Mesh Router has a 2.5 Gbps "in" so I could match it with this cable modem and gain maximum speed. I like the light patterns on this better than on the ARRIS and its base price is lower.

MB8611
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive always used Arris Surfboard modems, never had any issues. Decided to switch it up this time, glad I did, modem is fast, easy installation and is visually pleasant. This Motorola MB8611 has better ventilation than the Surfboards and has so far, stays cool. If I had to give a knock on Arris, that would be it, they run really hot.

Great Speeds
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good. I replaced my Spectrum modem earlier this month and also bought a new Orbi mesh system. I have a 1g plan and I'm consistently getting speeds in this neighborhood. I had a 400mb plan prior and wasn't even 200mb speeds with my old equipment. I did quite a bit of research before I purchased this modem and it consistently ranked in the top spot as a good Spectrum compatible replacement. So far I'm not disappointed.

Pretty good
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This modem is pretty fast. It is very stable too. I bought it because the warranty was twice as long as other brands and it had better airflow.

No fuss no muss
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great, basic cable modem that supports the latest protocols for maximum speed. Pays for itself because you won’t be paying monthly for a modem rental from your ISP.

Motorola Service service is almost nonexistent
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Modem was defective. Every couple of hours it would disconnect and restart, causing me to lose tv, internet, and the occasional zoom call. This happens from time to time, but Motorola customer service is almost nonexistent! For three weeks I tried calling their Modem Tech Support “team” and would get the same automated message:” none of our support staff is available to take your call at this time. Please call back later.“ By now it was too late to return to the store where I purchased it. I finally reached Motorola support via email. They confirmed that it was defective, but said that due to inventory issues, they would not be able to send me a replacement for a minimum of two weeks. I kept checking back. After about four weeks the offered to send me an earlier, discontinued model! No thanks. About two weeks later, (about 6 weeks in total) I received a refurbished replacement.

Great modem for the money
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a replacement for our tried and true MB8600 that we have been using trouble free for years. I always rely on Motorola products, rather it is for home internet use or two communications, I have both. Build quality is typical of Motorola and came with all the necessary items to get it up and running. Running this on Xfinity internet and it was a breeze to set up.Thought about going with the new Arris but I always have a problem with them mainly because they don't have a power switch, which the Motorola's do. Not much more to say other than it works great and highly recommend it.
