Doesn't work with Xfinity Superfast Internet

Don't buy this if you are using Xfinity for internet. It is an approved modem for their superfast 1GB service, but it disconnects from the intenet multiple times an hour. I found out this is a common problem for this modem with Xfinity. I've had Xfinity out and they replaced my coaxial cable to the house, but the problem recurs. On Xfinity blogs, many believe it is a faulty Xfinity firmware upload. Regardless, this router doesn't perform consistently with Xfinity. I'm purchasing an Arris S33 and crossing my fingers.

Quick change out & set up through the Xfinity App

Unit was easy to change out from my previous modem that was made useless during a power surge. Purchased a two outlet surge protector at the same time and haven't had any issues at all. Quick set up, calling Xfinity to activate was a mistake. Didn't know you can do it through their app, which I eventually did. Customer service rep on the phone made the process more complicated than it needed to be.

I have Xfinity comcast and my internet plan provides me with speed of 600 but was only getting around 250 with my old Arris modem. This provides me with 650 now. I was debating between this modem and the Arris SB8200. After research I purchased this one for 1 reason, it runs cooler and it is true, it is cooler and not hot like the Arris modem is. So far so good.

Easy setup, works fine. Have had no trouble since the day I installed it. Cable internet provider had indicated problem was my personal hardware, so replaced it with this; proved not to be the problem (surprise surprise) but I decided to keep it anyway.

I made the mistake of buying a Hitron from my cable company, which they recommended. It was very unstable and I found out there were many bugs in the firmware and it used an Intel Puma chip. I then bought this Motorola because it was highly rated and has a Broadcom chip. Along with my D-Link DIR-882 router, we now have a very stable connection even with over 20 devices connected, including a home office.

The system works great. I have it with an Orbi system and Xfinity 1.2 gig Wi-Fi I am getting over 950 meg to the wifi router but only 650-700 to my 2022 MacBook Pro I was hoping to get at least 850+ to the actual laptop but I guess 700 should be sufficient Either way, its a big improvement from the 300 meg I used to get before upgrading to this system but my new Orbi wifi
