My old router started having issues. I kept having to restart it periodically. The Motorola MB8611 has a simple interface but seems to be more robust and sturdy. I haven't had to reboot it since hooking it up and configuring it. My speed hasn't changed and it works fine with Xfinity. My old Arris S33 had more bells and whistles in the interface but what good are they if you have to keep un plugging in to make it work. It also ran much hotter, which i think was the real issuse and what caused the lockups.

Great deal of difficulty setting up the modem. Ended up having to call Xfinity (Comcast) to get it installed.

Great modem! It replaced netgear 2 in 1 unit, combined with a Asus gaming router and speeds are not just consistent but very fast as well.

Worked for a couple of weeks until xfinity/Motorola pushed a firmware update and then started disconnecting 20-50 times a day. XFinity wouldnt admit it was the modem. It was destroying my wfh routine. Unfortunately, I went out of town after buying it and it was a few days past the return date when I realized I had to return it to get a new modem to save my sanity and get my family and business back online. Bought the Arris S33 and my internet has been rock solid since. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this modem if you have Xfinity.. look online: it has known issues that comcast refuses to cop to. Interesting fact: Motorola modems are actually made by Zoom telephonics since they licensed the name from Motorola. The real Motorola rebranded as Arris. So, the S33 has the same chip as the MB8611 and the S33 is actually made by what we know as Motorola whereas the MB8611 is made by Zoom and is a piece of junk. I wish theis wasnt being recommended by BestBuy and Comcast as the modem to get. I now have a very expensive brand new brick.

Works perfectly! Even in my cable system which is not so great it handles bad levels pretty well. Able to pull around 1100mbps on my gig plan.

This modem is fantastic. It’s much more reliable and provides faster speeds than the one we had been renting from our ISP! I would be this again in a heartbeat!

I bought this modem because my old one was outdated and not compatible with my comcast service. By updating my modem I was able to get the internet speed I was paying for.

DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!! I bought this product in Aug 2023 and after three months i got an error message. I attempted to unplug it, reset it to factory settings and still did not work. Since i work at home at times and have someone who works at home full time. I had to go to Xfinity to get a modem from them. Best buy would not replace because it was not returned within 15 days of purchase. I tried to contact Motorola and GOOD LUCK trying to get anyone on the phone. Their website is not useful either. This is a known error with Motorola as i searched it on You tube. I am out $200+ on this product. SO BEWARE!!!

Awesome! Finally glad to get rid of the rental modem we were using. Easy setup too. Bright lights though, be warned where you put it, otherwise the 5 star rating is earned.

Bought the modem becasue Xfinity overcharges to lease their modem and trying to cut-the-cord as best as possible. Modem works great no issues. Worth the $$!

It is a cable modem what is there to say, It is supposed to do 2.5 gigs. I could not get it to work on the only 2.5 gig device I have, My router an Asus RT-AX86U has a 2.5 gig WAN port. I could never get an IP address or a link light with a cable from 2.5 port on the cable modem to the 2.5 gig port on the router. It is a router problem or is It the cable modem? So it is a chicken an egg problem
