I've had the phone for a little over a year now and it is still working like I just took it out of the box. Great phone for under 200 dollars. Just don't use a high speed charger or you will have phantom touch issues where you don't press anything but buttons seem to get pressed repeatedly until you shut it off and start it up again. Great camera and interface also.

Last phone was S4 with KitKat 4.4 Android. The Moto G4 with Nougat 7.0 is wonderful. Unlocked all carriers capable for $110. Matched with Poetic Revolution case with built in screen protector and port covers. Display outstanding. Android light and immediately responsive with 8 core CPU. No crapware skin. Radio reception very sensitive, and is able to talk or text in weak signal areas. 13 hr battery with turbo charge and external SD slot for expansion. Camera more than adequate. Reviews correct that upgrade to G4 Plus not necessary.

So I have no complaints saves for one. The phone works great. The size was perfect. It was cheap and has plenty of accessories online. The phone was fast and gave a nice package for the prices. Loved it. Then it stopped charging and is dead. After 3 months the charge port died. It was covered under warranty, but I haven't exchanged it. overall great phone, short life, but repairable.

Its a decent phone it has a couple of flaws however its battery life isn't as good as I had hoped. The screen flickers and is unusable while charging. Its relatively inexpensive and was a better replacement for a Samsung S4. Since it was unlocked it was easy to setup for my carrier. The OS is closer to what bare android looks like which is a nice thing, some manufacturers change the UI so much it becomes frustrating to use. This phone is simple and intuitive as what android should be. Haven't had it long enough to know how durable it is. The camera is as good as what can be expected. Screen is large enough for our use and is clear. the phone looks nice and is nicely designed. Overall I like the phone.

Motorola Moto G4 is a very capable phone. Bought it for my father and it is his first smartphone. He has adapted to it very well. The speakers are very good and the screen is bright and vivid for him to see the icons. It is on Marshmallow, which was a pleasant surprise. My father is not a power user so this phone is perfect for watching video, listening to music, and taking photos/video. The call quality is better than I thought. All my surprises for this phone is due to the fact that it cost so little. The best and most handy thing about this phone....it is truly unlocked, it'll work on CDMA or GSM. My parents will be able to use his phone abroad with local SIM card. Great phone for the price Motorola!!!

When my Galaxy S6 died out of warranty I needed a new phone and didn't wanna spend several hundred again. I saw this one in the store and did some research before purchasing, heard great things. After using it a ton over the weekend, I love this phone. Pros: +Very large sharp screen. +Very responsive touchscreen. +Simple basic layout that's very customizable. +Fast enough to use YouTube and browse web with no slowdown. +Price. +Absolutely no bloatware preloaded. +Worked flawlessly with my existing Verizon plan, setup a breeze. +Rear camera is pretty good, 13mp. +Great battery life, lasts all day long. +Comes with Turbo Charger, charges fully in only about an hour Neutral: ~All sound comes through the earpiece, no separate speaker for music and videos. Phone calls sound good but music/video sounds just ok. ~Has motion activated flashlight and camera. Works most of the time but not always accurate. Can be turned off though. Cons: -No fingerprint reader. All in all it's a tremendous smartphone worth well beyond the price.

I was used to a Samsung Galaxy 3 which finally quit on me. I wanted to buy a relatively cheap unlocked phone and after reading reviews of phones in this category, I decided on this one. Seems to work well. I don't like it as much as Samsung. Not as many functions or ability to personalize. Overall tho, seems decent.

This phone was not my first choice--I am a Samsung guy. However, my phone was dropped by someone (ahem) other than myself and rendered completely useless. I had to have a phone immediately. Since I use a prepaid phone service, I was on the hook to buy the new phone myself. After much searching and much disappointment, I went into Best Buy and found this unlocked Moto G (4). Now it took a little getting used to (I am a Samsung guy) so the user interface was a bit different to me, but what was nice is that this phone uses a very clean version of android--free of most of the usual bloat-ware. It is also water resistant, which is nice since I have 4 small children! There are a couple of cool features like, without unlocking the screen you can move the phone in a twisting motion to open the camera quickly...or you can move the phone in a kind-of-karate-chop motion to turn on the flashlight. These are both cool and kind of useful. However, the phone does not come with much storage. But what do you expect for a sub-$200 phone? Also, the phone does not have NFC--so not tapping for payment or file sharing. There are some other little things, like there is no stand-alone gallery for photos and video. Since it runs a fairly pure version of Android, only Google Photos is available for managing your pics and videos. Along those lines, the camera isn't the best ever, but it is fairly configurable. The one final annoyance for me is, since this is not one of the big name phones you are going to have a hard time finding a good case for it (neither Otterbox nor LifeProof make cases for the Moto G4). Other than those minor annoyances, this is a good phone that does anything that you want it to--and does it pretty well.

I needed to replace an iphone 6 with touch disease, and this phone, at $140 was perfect for my needs. I negotiated price based on an offer I had seen for Amazon Prime customers, and the manager on duty was fine with that when I showed her the ad. The phone is a typical, feature rich android OS phone, great, clear large ("phablet") screen, and minimal bloatware. Call quality is fine, its fast in web applications, and I love all the google cards and notifications it offers. Battery life is good (though I do wish the battery could be replaced by owner) and it is very easy to put an SD card in the expansion slot, so for about 12 bucks I went from a 16GB phone to a 48 GB phone. It is also very simple to pop the iphone 6's sim card right in and start using your ATT (in my case) services. The back of the phone opens easily, and a variety of colors can be purchased for it, but I do recommend a good solid screen protector style case--Poetic makes a good one for a few bucks. If you are "between phones" and have an epic phone fail before you're ready to replace or start a new contract, I highly recommend the MOTO G4 Unlocked.

My stepmother was having some issues with the Amp that she got for free after I finally got her to sign up with Cricket. Not enough on-board storage to download Android updates, especially with all of Samsung's bloatware. After about three weeks of research I found this on sale on Amazon, deeply discounted with a normal sale price, and after seeing that it would meet all of her needs (as decided by me) I texted her that I was coming over to do laundry, and show her her new phone that coming weekend. The Snapdragon in it was more than plenty for what she does with it, with enough on-board storage to keep the phone upgraded and running clean for years on Moto's near-Vanilla Android. And even enough to keep all of her apps on the phone, and not have to move them to the SD card. And it also is compatible with nice big SD cards that hold her quadrillions of pics. This phone won't do the job for a power user like me, but for someone who mostly does casual candy crushing, pictures, wants long battery life, etc? Grab this baby if you can find it. Especially if you can make use of Best Buy's Price Match guarantee (which is INSANELY easy to work with in-store) to get it 20% off or more.

After my previous phone's display froze solid white, I found myself in the market for a new phone. I use Straight Talk service and it meets my needs, however I was not impressed with any of their phone choices within my budget. So I began scouring reviews, watching review videos etc. Consistently, I noticed very high reviews and recommendations regarding the MotoG4. My local BestBuy carried the phone and after the clerk answered questions, I made the purchase and am very pleased I did so. I use my phone for both personal and business - texts, conversation, email, web access, etc. This phone's display is bright and clear and I have not had any issues even in bright light. Sound quality is good. The stock Android operating system is a big plus - NO bloatware. I purchased the 16GB model but added a 32GB micro SD so storage is not a problem. The phone feels good in my hand. It is not nearly as heavy as my old one. The buttons feel solid and navigating through screens is straight forward. The camera is nice and meets my needs with photos turning out sharp and clear. I did keep my StraightTalk service. By doing so I did have to use the AT&T sim (GSM) for reasons that were not made totally clear. My previous phones have all been CDMA - Version. At first I was a bit leery. A majority of the reviews mention that CDMA service is better. I have found this not to be the case for myself. Thus far, I have not experienced a single issue regarding service with this phone and in all honesty my LTE service is noticeably faster. Overall, I am completely pleased with the Moto G4. Mine has lived up the reviews and then some.

Not the fancy phone that will run you mucho dollars. This is a functional, easy to use phone without all the carrier/manufacturer specific software. A true android experience that updates on a regular basis to stay current, and enough horsepower to plow through just about anything but the fancy high-end games. Came off an older model Samsung, which was a fine phone, but wanted to have a quicker phone without the high-end expense. No regrets and I would recommend to anyone who wants to keep it affordable and keep the "unlocked" option open to allow free choice of carriers.

I recently picked up a Moto G4 to replace my older Moto G 3rd generation and it was well worth the upgrade. Bigger screen as well as a full HD screen that is protected by Gorilla Glass, great front and rear cameras and battery life that can go almost a day and a half with heavy use. With the recent upgrade to Android 7.0 it is even better and runs smooth as can be. Well worth the price to upgrade!

Purchased a Moto G for my father, as he had expressed interest in having a cell phone. After setting it up and using it for about a week, I have to say that there are several really great qualities about this phone. Number one being the battery life. My dad is definitely not what one would consider a "heavy user" ( couple of texts per day, maybe a short phone call, a little bit of surfing and reading the news) and the battery on this phone lasts between four and five days on a single charge. Number two, under moderate usage, the phone displays very little lag and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor performs well. Number three (and one of the phone's best features), there is virtually no bloatware installed on the phone... just a nice, mostly-vanilla version of Android OS with Motorola's (okay, so it's really Lenovo) very lite skin on top of it. And the very few modifications/additions that have been added are quite useful (i.e. Active Display, twist to launch camera, chop to turn on or off flashlight, etc.). The display is okay, but I would have preferred AMOLED. Call quality is great. Haven't experienced any issues with Bluetooth connection. The only thing I find to be a disappointment is the camera. When comparing camera quality between the Moto G and my Nexus 6p, well... there really is no comparison. The Nexus 6p wins by a long shot. So aside from the camera, the Moto G is a fantastic phone for the price.

I bought this phone because I was on AT&T but wanted the freedom to switch to other providers and the price and features were great. I did a pay as you go with T-Mobile and it worked, but the coverage wasn't good for my needs. I then went with Sprint and am using it with them now. It is very fast, gets very good reception, and has a great price. The one downside is that the speaker isn't as good as other phones I've had. Nonetheless, I've bought 2 more for other family members.

I bought this phone because I didn't want to buy an expensive phone, but that did take a bit of research and glad I made this decision. Also I have Verizon which limited my search for unlocked phones. Unfortunately I went in to a Verizon store to get my Sims card switched to this phone and said they don't have any that fit and believed it was compatible. So when I got home I pulled my old one out and put it in this phone and it worked great other than I was not able to back up any of my old photos and contacts with Verizon. My last phone was an windows phone so I couldn't just do a cloud properly. Great phone though

at a great price with plenty of features. Motorola is known for making great phones at reasonable prices and they also pack a punch feature wise and speed wise.I bought this phone for my mom as a replacement and she absolutely loves it. This phone is not only fast but works flawlessly with AT&T. Phone has plenty of higher tier features seen in higher end phones which make this perfect for anyone looking to replace their phone without having to pay higher price by going to respected cell phone provider.
