My Best Buy Plus

It was worth it to me!

Within a few weeks the item I purchased that day went on sale and I was able to apply the "price match" offered through My Best Buy Plus Membership and get the new sales price. I was refunded the difference of what I paid for it and the new sales price. (Which was more than what I paid for the membership. So, it proved to be worth it to me!)

No brainer

The deals I have received for being a member have paid for this membership 2-4 times. Typically I do not like memberships like this but when the math maths I go with it!

Buy it for the fantastic extended return policy!

Since BB still price matches other competitors, I wouldn’t buy the membership for the “savings”. I’ve found on average that for most items, the member pricing is only a result of Amazon or another large retailer selling it for less. However, if you have tech autism like I do, the 60 day return policy is amazing. You don’t know how a new piece of tech will fit into your daily routine, so having nearly TWO MONTHS to evaluate has been great. Standard return policies barely even get you enough time to try out a new device, let alone get comfortable with it. If you’ve ever had buyer’s remorse on a purchase, the 50 dollar Plus membership is a reasonable way to avoid that.

60 Day Price Match Mixed Review
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Part of the reason I signed up for the plus membership was for the 60 day price match benefit where after you purchase an item, if the price drops any time in the 60 days after purchase you can get a refund/credit for the amount. I purchased a Sonos Beam recently and a few weeks after it was purchased the price dropped from $499.00 to $399.99. I went in to get a price match and they went ahead with it and ended up having to process the price match as a return since the system wasn't working for them and didn't want to issue a refund. I originally used a $165.00 rewards certificate on the purchase and was never told this was an issue with the price match. They ended up processing a return on the original purchase and then "charging" me for the new sale price. I owed $71.14 since the original purchase price minus the $165 certificate was less than the price match amount, and the in store manager told me the $165.00 rewards certificate amount would be reissued to me to account for the price match and that I should receive an email with the new rewards certificate to activate. I waited days, about a week, and then messaged a live chat agent who checked my account and assured me that the rewards certificate would be reissued within 15 days of the price match date. Past 15 days and I still had no notification or sign that the rewards certificate was reissued. I spoke to a live agent online again and they told me to go back to the store for assistance. I returned to the store and spoke to the same manager. He seemed confused and didn't seem to remember the original transaction for the price match, didn't seem sure of what to do, went away to talk to discuss with someone and came back after about 5 minutes and told me pretty much the opposite of what I was told originally. He said that they would need to refund the $71.14 to me somehow and that I wouldn't receive the rewards certificate and didn't really explain why. I was confused so I asked why I was being told this when it's the opposite of what I was originally told when I priced matched the item. He pretty much said that they shouldn't have done what they did originally, and that it was a mistake, even though he was the person that originally helped me and processed the price match, did and that the $71.14 should be refunded/credited so I would essentially be back where I started. So in the end, no price match, no benefit at all to having the plus membership 60 day price match feature. I can understand having a specific policy that says they can't do a price match if you got a certain amount of of the original purchase by using a discount or rewards certificate, but that was never originally stated. They just reversed the price match and said "oopsie". It was Best Buy's mistake and I was almost treated like I was in the wrong somehow. If you made a mistake don't make the customer pay for it when you originally told them it was going to be price matched.

Very unhappy with service!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.When I was buying a dryer last year the sales rep convinced to sign up for this membership which I didn't want to do in the first place, I was told my card would not be automatically charged for renewal. In fact the sales rep guaranteed me that woudnt happen & told me that he "put it in the system, not to renew membership". Fast forward to this year MY CARD WAS CHARGED FOR RENEWAL WITHOUT MY CONSENT OR MY KNOWLEDGE!!! SO NOT ONLY DID THE SALES REP LIE BUT BEST BUYS SALES TACTICS MAKE ME FEEL LIKE IVE BEEN SCAMMED. To make things worse, THIS ISNT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME SHOPPING AT BEST BUY. Few years ago Geek Squad did this EXACT SAME THING & CHARGED HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS!!! I actually used to like going & shopping at Best Buy, but now I have completely lost all trust in Best Buy. I am very disappointed how Best Buy treats customers by essentially lying & manipulating its customers.

I'm so thankful that I bought this membership!

The biggest thing for me is the return window is so much longer. Sometimes it's hard to get a good gauge on a product, especially if it's an expensive one, you want to make sure it's doing what you want/need it to do. And with the two month window, it's such a game changer. But that's not all, you get other benefits like Best Buy Plus prices and money back on your purchases. To me, I don't really see a down side to this membership. It's a win across the board for me.
