    It does a good job when it goes. When it cleans it moves the charging base, so the next time you try to start it it says there is no matching floor plan and it just shuts down. It's ridiculous for the price. I'd return it but I'm pretty sure it's too late. I got specifically for the no go lines feature. But I rarely get to use that function because it cant remember the floor plan after the name moves 2 inches.

    Cleans really well.... maps the area well..... needs a lot of babysitting... has lots of problems when new items are introduced to the floor

    I have about 2200sq ft home and the battery life on D4 doesn’t cover that. It has to recharge several times before completing. Taking half a day to complete. D4 doesn’t clean that well either, Especially along the edges. I exchanged it for the D7!! Must say the D7 is night and day compared to this one. Everything about the D7 is superior and cleaner way better. I recommend spending the extra funds on D7

    Finally got one that worked after 2 defectives

    This order was a two edged sword. The first one I received had a bad sensor so while I could get it to vacuum, it wouldn't create a floor plan. Talked to Neato Robotics, excellent customer service, who determined it was a bad sensor. Talked to Best Buy and they sent a replacement. The replacement arrived, and the battery was dead. Talked to Neato again and it was determined that the battery was dead. Neato offered to send a replacement, or I could contact Best Buy for another replacement. 2 robots, both defective out o the box. I was extremely frustrated. Before I sent the first D4 back, I swapped batteries and the replacement worked. So, now I have a working D4. and I will tell you it works great! Suction is good, decent battery life. Cleans my entire apartment and follows the No-Go lines like a champ! Very happy with it now that it is working So, like I said 2 edge, great customer service both from Best Buy and Neato. Works great, now that I have it working. BUT, Very disappointed and frustrated that I got 2 defective ones.

    I was skeptical at first cause the app seemed like it wasnt gonna work, but it finally did! The floor plan finished and now its operating fine. Just buy it on sale when less tha $300. Battery life is only about an hour and whenniys a big house it goes back to charge but it does resume afterwards.

    Works great except under my kitchen cabinets. It has never gotten stuck. Overall ok but you will still need to supplementary clean up after it in the kitchen.

    It's been a decent unit. Seems to get hung up on cords easier than it should. 900 square foot area with mostly hardwood and gets a little more than half way after less than a year of use and needs to recharge prior to finishing. Collection bin is small and if you have a dog that sheds its just not enough.

      As a preventive measure, we always recommend ensuring the cords and cables are collected or tucked away neatly to ensure the robot will not get caught up — With the powerful suction it offers, this is truly important.
      Our robots can return to the charging base to recharge and continue for up to 3 time and the battery is also easily swappable! — You can acquire the high capacity lithium battery for your robot which will give you that extra run time.
      Our dust bin is the largest available in the market at 0.7L! — We’re sorry to hear that this doesn’t seem to be sufficient for your dog’s shedding and would recommend increasing the amount of cleaning runs to avoid accumulation of fur and ensuring that the bin is emptied after every cleaning cycle!

    It was great while it worked. The bin needed replaced every two cleanings and it would do a good job but it did run into the chairs and knock them over without the gentl bump mode on. I moved and when I turned it on again the lidar motor quit working. Apparently it's a very common problem

    Purchased this vacuum for the LIDAR navigation however the robot still struggled to navigate without getting stuck and requiring intervention. Getting the robot to complete it's "exploratory run" to map the floorplan and enable the "no-go" lines was painful and took several hours for a 1200 sq. ft. single story home. After the floorplan was saved and no-go lines indicated, the robot still struggled to run independently. On it's second run, an error message indicating the bin needed to be emptied popped up on my phone and upon inspecting the bin, there was no debris. The error message continued to come up with the robot beeping constantly all the while there was no debris in the bin or stuck in the roller. Even after a factory reset I could not get mine to work so it was returned. I think this robot may be fine for some with smaller apartments with limited furniture.

    Something started to go wrong with the sensor that detects the dirt bin, rendering the device useless. I cleaned it, blew it out with a can of compressed air to make sure. Spoke to tech support, went through a bunch of restarting and attempts to fix it. Still wouldn't work and it just so happened to be Im a few months out of warranty. Now I have to go through shipping to to Ohio, to see if it can be fixed if I want it working again... I have a lot higher expectations for the price I paid. It works great but the life span and warranty are poor.

    Constantly gets stuck and goes outside the no go zones. Constantly pushes its charger away and then can’t find it and dies. If you can find on sale, great. Don’t pay full price

    I would give this D4 Neato vacuum a 2 star review but I have 2 and the other one is operating much better than the newest one. Neato’s customer support is not very helpful, often blaming the connection to the WIFI. The fact that the older D4 is further away from the WiFi mesh and has NO ISSUES, tells me that this individual D4 is defective. Since Best Buy doesn’t carry the D4 in the store, I am left to deal with Neato directly and this has been a wholly unsatisfactory experience. I think we just have a defective D4. I’m very close to returning it to get a full refund.

    Cleans great; dies too soon

    I have two houses, 3 dogs, and 2 Neatos; both Botvac D4. I used to have Roombas. I really liked the ability to schedule these and change it on the fly with my phone app. They pick up a ton of dust and debris. !st one died after ~18 months. One wheel won't turn anymore despite cleaning. The 2nd one is not even 5 months old yet and is only used about once every other week. It died. Says it needs to reboot; I reboot, it connects, starts and seems fine for about 2 seconds then it stops and tells me I need to reboot!

    Shark vs neato decision.

    I have owned several neatos for 10 years now and have loved them, as they have been workhorses, with a lot of power and organized maneuvering, cleaning. The one challenge we have had is they are high maintenance [having to call support every so often to resolve issue]. I compared this to a Shark this time around and decided to keep the Shark. This one keeps getting stuck, and doesn't have the extra dirt bin that the Shark model has. The shark app also is better [faster, more responsive].

    Can not do 2 floor plans

    Had to return it. Live in a two story condo. Would carry it upstairs but it would not clean. Learned I would need two charge bases. Charge base is not cheap. Went with another brand which did not need two charging bases.

    Does a good job, but, does not sinc to 5gb wifi. Spend 2 days trying to get it going, but it is a 2.4 go only.
