Got this for the wife for Xmas. The flooring is 1/3 tile 2/3 hard wood about 1700 sq feet. We have a short haired lab mix. I have a fairly advanced "smart home" so I'm no gadget novice. I am very impressed with this vac. In preparation for Christmas, my wife mopped the whole house on her hands and knees. as spotless as anybody could get it. On the first try, the robot got half done and sent me an alert to empty the bin. I couldn't believe how much stuff this little thing found. Since then it has run three full times. On the first it got stuck on a power cord that was hanging directly in the way of the laser sights. The second time it got stuck on a decorative air vent. third time made it all the way through without incident. So i guess you could say it has a 33% success rate but I am fairly sure i have the house properly set up for continued success. We have a ton of furniture with multiple couches, end tables dining sets, a desk with credenza and a large entertainment center. The little bot tucks in to all the nooks and crannies and takes about 1.8 hours to do the whole floor. As far as i can tell, it is doing the whole house on one charge. I haven't tried the virtual barrier yet and that feature is very important due to a dog dish and a laundry room. i will update after some experience with that feature. i also have not tried it out upstairs where the house is primarily carpet. It really doesn't matter to me if it only works downstairs. The scheduling feature is really cool and I have it set for 3 am so we wake up to a freshly vacuumed home. I was very skeptical that a robot vac had the power to do a good job on my home. I stand corrected.

Best vacuum I've ever owned! I was in the market for a new vacuum and after comparing the iRobot and the Neato I decided to try out the Neato. Set up was a breeze and the battery life will clean my entire house on one charge. I have a one floor 2000sqft house, with hard floors in the kitchen, dining room, hallways and living room. The first time I used it I was amazed on how much dirt this little machine picked up. I ran it twice and even the second time it picked up a lot of dirt. For a vacuum its pretty quiet to where you can have a conversation with someone, but not sleep. It cleans thoroughly as it follows a pattern and it easily gets corners due to the "D" shape. Just make sure to keep your floors clean of any obstacles including any wires as it can get caught on them. Overall I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a bot vac or even something to get a deep clean.

I bought this little bot for everyday floor maintenance. With 2 small dogs running around the house we get a lot of dirt on our hardwood floors. This vacuum does a great job overall. it truly goes everywhere and gets in the corners and under our couches and chairs and seamlessly transitions from hardwood to our area rugs. The only downside is that you can't just ask it to dock if you decide it's done before the vacuum decides it's done, you need to stop it and pick it up and put it back on it's base. So strange and I feel like this could be fixed with a simple app update.

I can’t believe how well the D5 cleans and how smart it is. It gets into areas that I didn’t think it would be able to and navigates its way out. It also gets over floor transitions with ease. I have a transition from a tile to wood floor that is a 7/8” hump. It drives over it in both directions without skipping a beat. I have furniture with an arched bottom and the robot can only get in and out in the center. It vacuums the entire area under the furniture and finds the way out.

So this robot vacuum is wonderful especially for one floor houses, appartments etc. BUT you will have to adjust placement of some furniture and just over all stuff in your place. It does get caught up on loose cords and clothing left on the floor and if you have tall thresholds you might have to create a ramp type for it. That being said, it is completely worth the money vacuum capabilities, app and mapping of your house is top notch. I would definitely buy it again.

I don’t get the negative reviews on this thing. What could be better than coming home every day to a perfectly vacuumed house?? No go lines are just perfect to keep it from getting stuck in trouble spots. I set mine to keep it from going in my son’s room- there’s no way it could navigate that jungle without getting stuck. I love this machine, have been using it daily for about 4 months now with no issues whatsoever. Very highly recommend.

I got the Neato D5 on sale. It is truly wonderful. It connects to Wifi and can be controlled via the Neato app and via Google Assistant. For those having trouble connecting to Google Home, connect it in the web at assistant . google . com and say "Talk to neato" then "Tell Neato to clean/pause". It creates a floor plan of your house in which you can draw virtual walls in areas that you do not want it to go in. It cleaned my whole home in 1 hour with 50% battery remaining on turbo mode!! Since the dirt bin is huge, I did not have to empty it at all until after it was finished. Also here is a tip: "PAUSE" the Neato, DON'T "STOP" it. If you stop the Neato midway through its cleaning job, it will end the job and will NOT be able to dock itself to its base. However, if you "pause" it, it can continue its cleaning job, and it will also be able to dock itself. Also, every robotic vacuum has its weakness. The only two weaknesses of the D5 are the following: cords (free the ground of loose cords as much as possible) and thick shaggy rugs (regular rugs are OK though). Still, this vacuum is worth every penny, especially if you're able to get it on sale.

Best thing ever bought. We have a Great Pyrenese dog who sheds A LOT and loves playing in the yard. He picks up quite a bit of dirt from the yard and Neato picks up all of it, yes all of it. It did good both on carpet and hardwood floors. It didn’t go through a 3/4” transition, but anything less than that was ok. Don’t think twice, go for it and you won’t regret it.

Does a great job cleaning. Still having issues with having to re connect every time I use it. This keeps me from being able to set a cleaning schedule. I like set it tells you when it is stuck, so it doesn't damage itself. Battery life is fantastic.

When I first took it out of the box and connected to the charging base nothing happened. Waited 2 hrs, no LED indicators. Tech support said it was probably dead on arrival and to exchange it. Left it on the charger all night and Bam, in the morning it was fully charged. Connected the app which is super easy. And began the first clean. First thing I noticed is how smart this vacuum is, it uses mapping to vacuum so not just random like my Bobsweep. Second, I have a 1200sqft apt with a husky who is shedding and this vacuums turbo mode is perfect for that on the hardwood floors or shag rug. Also, the best feature that separates this from other brands, after a few times of the vacuum mapping, you can add virtual No Go lines on the map thru the app. Meaning if you don't want the vacuum to go somewhere, just draw a line on the map. No more magnetic tapes. For example, I don't want it to go under my entertainment set because there are wires, so on the map I just draw a red line there and it avoids it. You can also draw squares or circles for spot cleaning. I feel more confident having this robot run while I'm out and not come back to it stuck somewhere.

We got this awhile ago at &Best Buy they had a great deal on it so I decided to get it, and I must say there are no reheats. It does a fantastic job cleaning and keeping the place looking great. I have had no issues with it and it seems to always find its way back to the base.

Have health issues and difficult for me to vacuum. This little guy does a pretty good job. Once it learns your floors it does the job much faster. With my cats and one dog I have to empty it more then a standard vacuum but between emptys I am relaxing in my chair.

Purchased in April of 2019 and despite following all of the maintenance guidelines, it looks to be dead beyond user repairability We regularly replaced the filter and roller brush. We cleaned the sensors and made sure the dust bin never got too full. I even removed the cover and cleaned it out with canned air once in a while to shake loose the dust. It did a great job cleaning; no-go lines always worked flawlessly. We found the app very intuitive and easy to use. We were really happy with it. However, the robot now is stuck requesting reboots and according to tech support (case #928377263538307072) needs to be sent to an authorized repair center for diagnosis/service (all shipping at my expense). Given how much we spent on this unit, less than 2 1/2 years is not long enough for the product to last before apparently needing major repairs. Although we liked the product, we will likely not be buying another Neato again given the fact that we simply cannot trust the reliability to go beyond a few years. It needs to last longer.

I have had my neato for a year now. I love it! The mapping feature probably saves a lot of time. Around 6mos I did notice frequent navigation issues-getting lost, not finishing the house, sending stuck notifications from middle of hallway. I contacted tech support (Their customer service is AMAZING!!!) and we decided to start with a battery. They sent me a new battery pack. After about 2 more months the problem persisted until it was deemed a navigation issue and I was asked to return it for repairs. I received my robot back and it was able to run without issue.

Needs work. It does vacuum. First one we got worked for about 2 weeks when the battery failed. Returned it for a replacement New needs to be reset and setup about every month because it loses the settings and becomes unresponsive. Loses WiFi connection often and the app can't find it. After 4 months we can no longer pair with the robot at all - we cannot see it on WiFi and pairing mode doesn't work anymore. If you pick up the robot, running or not, it will beep at you constantly. Very annoying. If it gets stuck or sucks up a sock it beeps at you every 5 or so seconds until you drop what you're doing to fix it, and then it beeps at you for picking it up. Pull the bin while it's running? Yep - beeps at you - like dude I know the bin is gone I have it in my hands! It's a needy robot that whines as much as my three kids until I drop everything to tend to it. A push notification is all I need - I don't need the flipping beeping all the time! Let me disable beeping and if needed activate beeping to locate the darn thing. Hopefully our 3rd one in 4 months doesn't crap the bed like the first 2. We did notice a difference and appreciate it's cleaning. 50/50 chance that the side brush is still attached when you do maintenance. Falls off a lot.

This is our first robot vacuum and after some research we decided to go for the D5 which was offering good value for money in terms of features. The navigation system (including no go lines) is a real plus. D5 is following a path (instead of turning randomly) and makes sure not to miss any spots. We have approx 1500 Sq ft with 80% carpet. Result is good with great ability to collect dirt even in places thought to be clean. Battery is not sufficient to do the full house in one round so it has to recharge half way. Total cleaning time is 4hours including recharge. App and setup are good and easy. More features could probably be added especially zoning on top of no go lines to make it easier to clean just some parts of the house.

Excellent cleaning, user friendly app to control and track vacuum, inexpensive to maintain. Have had over 2 years and love it. Liked it so well we got a second D5 and gave the Neato Connected as a gift.

I do not have any carpet, so this review will only pertain to hard surfaces with the exception of flat rugs. First off, we totally renovated out new home, it was carpeted throughout and I was NOT going to have a home with carpet anymore! We have indoor pets, a small dog and two cats who shed their furs all year around. I was sick of trying to keep up with it on carpet. So on hard surfaces, I would use my trusty Shark vacuum, which is a great brand, but no matter what vacuum you use, vacuuming on hard surfaces still doesn’t pick up everything. I would have to sweep up piles of dirt and dust and hair, then vacuum those up to really actually clean hard floor surfaces. However, with the Neato, I no longer have to worry about sweeping up piles first. The Neato takes care of that for me. I also don’t have to worry about following behind the Neato to get into corners or along the baseboard either. The front of the Neato where all the action happens has squared off edges and brushes that pick up from the sides and edges. The suction of the vacuum itself is powerful and will suck up whatever the edge brushes grab. I noticed some reviews complaining about the Neato getting stuck, but I think that is a trait for any robotic vacuum cleaner. Mine has yet to become “stuck” or suck into anything it shouldn’t, but as long as there is nothing loose like phone charger cords, long hanging curtains, or blankets, you shouldn’t really have anything to worry about. I even ran mine at Christmas time and just simply pushed the Christmas tree skirt up around the base of the tree and although the Neato did vacuum up against it, it never sucked it up into the vacuum, and my tree skirt even have stringy frilly edges. The name brand Neato did seem a little curious at first, because I had never heard of this brand, however the employee at Best Buy said it was comparable to all the other top robotic vacuum name brands out there, and I must say, it does a much better job than the Roomba I had several years ago. The Neato also has a feature which allows it to map out your floor layout. This is very accurate, and it “knows” where you’re furniture, lamps, etc are after mapping and “learns” to go around these areas. It has an eco mode, which is a very quiet, quick, low suction mode, and a turbo mode which has full suction power, but it is still relatively very quiet and does not disturb or washout TV watching or other sounds. It flows over flat rugs easily and cleans them nicely as well. 5 stars out of 5 because it really is worth it. Oh and by the way, when it’s finished, it returns back to it’s charging base, and there is also a Neato app which you can connect your vacuum too and ask it to clean with the app. The app lets you know when it’s done cleaning and also shows you the Neato’s map layout of your room(s).

Has great suction. App works great. No disconnect issues. I suspect those that have had problems may have dead spots in the wifi signal. I use Eero system to spread wifi. First time I turned it on was just to see if it worked. I had already vacuumed with an upright and a roomba earlier that day so I didn't expect any dirt. It stopped not long after. I thought it was malfunctioning. It was just full of hair and dirt. I was amazed. The bin is not huge but it's bigger than the roomba. Quieter than older roomba can hear tv over it but do have to raise volume some. Now my issues with it. It is a little slow. But very thorough hugging walls. The round piece on top is just high enough to cause it to either not get under furniture or it will get under and get stuck. Very annoying. So you cannot run it on a schedule unsupervised unless you don't have this issue. So I'm mixed on keeping it only because of speed and getting stuck. I still have the Roomba and use it also to get under the furniture. I will have to raise the height of some furniture a little with pads so it won't get stuck. The D design is better for cleaning corners but gets stuck easier in tight areas because it's not round. It can usually get out of areas when stuck but not always. If stuck under furniture then I have to lift up furniture or it will eventually just shutdown and send an error message.

It systematically cleans my entire floors making sure to go around the edges and then perfectly straight lines to finish the rest. I tried Bob sweep & returned it. It would do a couple loops in one room then go to another room, come back and do another couple loops. It was all over the place. Neato gets everything clean and I am amazed at how much it picks up! I love that when I come home my floors are clean or when I wake up in the morning as it cleaned during the night. Love it!
