Bought it to make my wife happy - she is doing vacuuming and said she needs this to help her. Well, this means I'll be spending time servicing this thing ( getting it unstuck, dealing with app etc etc is not what she does) and that made me look into alternatives. First thing I was surprised with is that the canister is really not that small - can vacuum the whole house if doing every other day. I really expected a canister that needs emptying like 5 times during one cleaning. Also, the robot has clever design so things really don't get stuck too much that you need disassembling to remove them. Finally, the robot goes under sofas and beds. However, the problem is the amount and type of work such robot can do - it's just not enough. For example, it'll skip all our eating area because of the chairs around, as it just can't get in between. Then, all the kids stuff we block it etc. With the regular vacuum, I would just push chairs and other things that get into way, would go around things etc. Not much floor preparation need. Now, the alternatives - well, I decided it's better that I simply start vacuuming. 20 minutes, two times per week, is going to be comparable to the time I would be spending servicing this thing. Yet, I'll be able do to MUCH MUCH better work. For this money, will just buy Dyson V8 so I can easily vacuum under the beds/sofas and that's about it.... All that nice app reporting - "I finished cleaning - here is the map" etc etc, like robot did some work for me and I feel good because I didn't do anything. All that is just worthless. All I need to do is to get into the habit of cleaning. Case closed - the winner is my wife as she won't be vacuuming any more. Now, you might have a perfect house, just like for ads for this thing, and might have enough money to throw around - then, sure, buy it, it's going to help. Pay attention that the support is bad. I wanted to ask them about mapping - why my device just can't map the house and why it goes over the same area many times, in random fashion. No response. Unbelievable - they are the smaller player in this game, and their customer service is to be top notch. Especially since the price is comparable to Roomba. This is the reason I gave it 2 stars otherwise it's hard to rate this thing

After reading many great reviews, we tried this Robotic vac. It did a pretty decent job at picking up a ton of dirt and debris on my hardwoods that we thought were pretty clean already Surprise. That was a knock to the knees. This vac shows how much stuff is still floating around your home. We are a kid, pet free home and have cleaning done regularly due to high allergens we suffer from. I would have kept this model had it not gotten stuck so many times and it just couldn't seem to figure out that a simply backing up and going another way would have remedied it's stuck issues. Once it decided to just repeatedly for over 15 minutes just be spinning and stuck trying to go underneath our dressers, I had enough. The battery wears down quickly and took multiple runs to do our ranch floor plan home. Roughly 3000 Sq feet on first floor, all hardwoods. It just got hung up on too many things. the bar stools, dressers, doors, etc. We had to return and will try another product by another maker.

Have 2 dogs and a cat this vacuum keeps up with them. Easy to use and is better than my regular sweeper!

I don't have to use my broomstick anymore. And it vacuums the carpet and rugs.

We love 'Dusty'! As a family with 2 dogs, keeping our floors clean really became a never ending chore. This botvac is great for keeping the floors clean in between our regular cleaning. We have it connected thru the SmartThings hub to run every afternoon. The no-go lines have been perfect for keeping it away from our Christmas tree or any areas that don't need attention.

This vacuum works really well. When we first got it we had a few errors and incorrect maps. After realizing that we had to move the charger the problem was fixed. If you are wondering if you should get this robot vacuum this is an amazing one for the price.

This is a great vacuum. It cleans well and navigates very thoroughly.

This Neato has been awesome so far. Super easy to set up (named him Alfred) and start cleaning. Running daily cleans of both upstairs and downstairs now because it is so easy. I like the vacuum lines he leaves and how well he gets into corners. My wife, who is always super skeptical of my tech purchases, just smiled and said "I like him!"

I was thinking of buying an iRobot Roomba, but at the Best Buy store a sales person explained the features of the Roomba and the Neato. I decided on the Neato and am very happy with it. Also, the "How To" videos on the Neato website are so helpful. Can't think of anything I don't like about it.

I have waited to write a review until i gave Neato the chance to make my issues with this vac right. Purchased on 8/10/18, vac stopped working on 10/23/18. Sent vac back to Neato for service repair on 11/1/18 (waited over a week for a shipping label i was told i would get in 24 hours, Neato ignored all follow up emails i sent for shipping label). Received serviced vac back on 11/13/18. Vac still has the same problems, just sits there, does nothing when the start button is pushed, vac will also not stay connected to the app. Contacted Neato on 11/13/18, requested full refund, was told they cannot do that, they can only offer a replacement vac after 2 repairs. Shouldn't have these issues at this price point for a vacuum, as of right now i am stuck sending the vac back to them for another repair. This is all really too bad because when the vacuum worked it worked really well, we were very happy with it. We expected to have to replace a battery here and there but to have it on its 2nd service repair when we haven't even gotten 3 months of use out of it is totally unacceptable. I think most of the reviews are probable correct, however if you get one of the bad ones, as we did, get ready for a the run around in getting a replacement or refund even if you are within the warranty period.

Worked ok. Wish it had worked longer. Maintenance is challenging.

Cleans hardwood floors with no trouble and carpet not as good depending on thickness of carpet. I like the vacuum because of the flat front to go into corners and along the wall

The D5 works amazing. Setup is simple and the added no go lines is a great feature. Doesn't always give alerts when it get stuck and the dust bin is a little too small

I was skeptical at first on how well a robot vacuum could do, but wow. We vacuumed with our Electrolux upright first then ran this at night. It picked up more dirt, let me know when it was stuck, and also let me know to empty the bin. This is a true winner.

highly recommend this robot. performs better than others I have used and is easy to control with the app. No Go lines are awesome for taking care of specific rooms. Customer service is excellent.

You won’t be disappointed with this vacuum. It maps out the floor so it doesn’t waste time with a random pattern. Get for everyday cleans in between regular vacuuming.

Cleans great and is not too loud. We can still hang out and have a conversation while it works we run it twice a day everyday and it finds dirt every time we run it.

I’m giving up on the Neato brand and switching to Roomba. I am on my third D5 replaced under warranty in the last year and the new one again has the same issue as the past two did out of the box!. The vaccuum powers up ready to start, moves out from the base about a foot, the brush spins as if its going to move but it never moves. It does this about 5 times and then fails with some beeps and an error. The other two had the exact same issue. If you give the vaccuum a physical push it will move forward and start and complete the full vaccuum session and return, but it requires you to actually give it a nudge, it will not work on a schedule in its own. Support had me do the same thing over and over with all 3 vaccuums basically clean sensors and pull the battery to hard reset but it does not help and i end up getting a replacement.

It seemed to start well. First run was good. Where it gets to it cleans well. The issue is that it keeps getting stuck, it only seems to happen when we are not in the house, Which is a bit of an issue. I bought it to be an autonomous vacuum, At this point I need to hire somebody to follow it around which defeats the object a little. I wrote to the manufacturer pointing out some issues and to ask if they had any fixes and I received a bog-standard reply about cleaning it's sensors. Not much help as I had only had it for a month and it had done precisely 2 successful cleaning cycles. I would look elsewhere for a vacuum if I were you. Having a vacuum that cleans well, but gets stuck all the time and then having zero useful customer support get's this 2 stars.

My Neato does a great job of cleaning and the app is very convenient. The house looks great even with a dog and cat roaming around daily. Great quality.
