Just a preference and alternative to Alexa

You can try these steps for creating a speaker group for your Nest Mini and your other speakers:
- Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as your Nest Mini and your other speakers.
- Open the Google Home app.
- At the top left, tap Add and then Create speaker group.
- Tap each device you want to add to the group. A check will appear next to each device you select.
- Tap Next enter a name for your group then tap Save.

1. Reboot your Wi-Fi router: Unplug the power source for one minute, then plug it back in.
2. Reboot your Nest speaker or display: Disconnect the power cable from the speaker then reconnect the power cable back into the speaker.
3. On your mobile device, turn off the Wi-Fi, then turn it back on.
4. If you have a dual-band router, try to set up your speaker or display on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.

I read that this was a "feature" to auto-connect when you use YouTube Music. There didn't seem to be any way to overcome this flaw in the app. I returned it.

This is not designed to be an audio device, but a voice assistant. If you turn off the mic, the device turns on always-on lights that can't be turned off, which will annoy anyone in a dark room such as a bedroom. There have been thousands of requests to Google to allow these lights to be turned off, but Google has been tone deaf to this need. I've interfaced directly with Google to make the case for this feature, but I was told their priority is to have this device as a voice assistant so that they can collect voice data and generate revenue on the sale of that data. There is no consideration or priority to make this a moderately functional speaker. This device has slightly better audio than the pathetic audio that the Nest Mini has, but it's still not remotely good. The only reason to buy this device is for the improved audio, but the added cost does not justify the minor audio improvement.

Ok, but...

I have a portable JBL Flip 4 which sounds better, just not crazy about the look of it so I wanted to try this. Also, Google isn't as easy to setup or as user friendly as the Amazon Alexa's. Knowing that going in would make it easier.
