I was debating on this and the echo show 8 and I think I’m going to go with the echo only because I have more Alexa products in my home versus google. Still a great smart home display

I thought what was lacking was the sound bar. If you can afford the nest hub max, I say go for it. The nest hub is good for the kitchen perhaps.

Our concept behind Nest Hub (2nd Gen) was to create a lower version of Nest Hub Max but offer a similar value proposition for our more budget conscious customers. A few trade offs included installing a smaller speaker set and removing the camera, hence the lower price point. Good smart display with some hiccups

We’ll share your feedback with the right team for future improvements. Meanwhile, a range issue or wireless interference can affect the performance of your display. Sometimes it may pass the connection test during setup, but will struggle to stay connected if it’s just a bit too far away. If you're experiencing a spotty connection or weak signal, we recommend checking your Wi-Fi network to see if your bandwidth is congested. This may happen if you have too many devices connected on the same bandwidth or if your network package is not enough to handle the data traffic on the network. Removing other connected devices to your Wi-Fi may relieve network congestion. If your display is mounted too far from your Wi-Fi router, you may need to extend your Wi-Fi network’s range using an extender, boosters or additional Wi-Fi access points.

Solid Google Home component

I use them primarily for music & to tell Assistant what to do with my smart stuff around the house. For some reason, this Hub wouldn't keep a solid connection as part of a speaker group. I deleted it & went through adding it back to Home. Seems to have helped. I don't use it for all it can do but I'm willing to learn. The hardware is solid. Crystal clear display & good sound quality. I would recommend the Hub for Google Home & Assistant users especially with smart gadgets around the house.

We recommend checking for possible congestion in your Wi-Fi network. Removing some of your connected devices can help free up some bandwidth space. You may then check to see if you will still experience the same connectivity issue. You may also check for possible sources of interference such as the thick walls and appliances in your home.
