The best product I didn't know I needed!
I love my Nest Hub 7" Smart Display with Google Assistant (2nd Gen) so much that I bought a 2nd one for my home office. I even ordered one for my dad for Father's Day. I use the Sleeping app to keep track of how well I am sleeping at night, then review my stats in the morning. I enjoy viewing the changing pictures on the Nest Hub on my desk while I work and listening to soft music. I use it to control my smart light bulbs in all of the rooms in my house. I ask the Google Assistant about the events on my calendar, set reminders, and various questions all day long. Often she has better answers than Alexa. I am still learning all the wonderful things it can do.

2 week google nest hub gen 2 review
I used to own the Google Home Mini 1st Gen for a few years until recently. Compared to those, I can confidently say that the audio from the Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen sounds significantly better. Since it's still the same google assistant, it didn't get any smarter or anything. I faced the same issues that I did previously, but at least the screen would provide some information rather than it annoyingly sending a link it found to my phone. Speaking of the screen, it's really nice despite it being small. It being small is advantageous since I like having my smart device sitting by the window next to my bed. I feel the 10" one wouldn't have fit as well. If you haven't touched the sceen in a while, it's laggy but once it gets going, it moves at a sufficient speed. I talk to it more than I touch the interface so it's not an issue I run into too often. I wish I could download apps onto the device, or remove some of them since I don't use Sling. It's a bit hard to use youtube on it as well. It's nice that it's easy to cast to it. I often cast twitch steams or audiobooks to it and it works out really well. It makes calls easily, and it can be helpful for routines or controlling your smart home. It's sleep sensing is surprisingly really good. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and if you use the sleep sensing, I recommend that you download google fit so that you can view your sleep data easier. The sleep sensing on the google nest was able to provide pretty much the same data as my galaxy watch 7 when it came to detecting sleep. It might not be that interesting, but I thought it was cool since the google nest uses motion sensing rather than making direct contact with my body while I sleep. You can also search websites on the nest hub, but I wouldn't recommend it since it would be slower than on your phone, and it doesn't really have much of a practical use, at least to me anyway. All in all, I really like this device. It's nice being able to control the dim of my light from my bed, but without having to pick up my phone. Sometimes I don't feel like speaking to start some routines, so the touch interface and gestures are appreciated. I thought google was getting rid of the sleep sensing, but somehow it still isn't gone yet. (Hopefully I haven't jinxed it) I'd happily recommend this device to anybody, even if they aren't crazy invested into a smart home. I just wouldn't say that it's worth it at full price. Definitely wait for a sale.

7" Google Nest Hub (2nd Gen) Impressions
This is a nice little home hub for my nightstand. Controls all my Google Home devices via speech queries with Home Assistant SDK, tracks my sleep and via casting, I have the sounds of ocean waves lull me to sleep at night. Sometimes I cast the local TV news to the hub and that is rather enjoyable via HULU. Still waiting on Gemini while others have received that via software update. For the money this is a nice little hub for what it does

It is a part of my life now!
To be honest, I was pretty skeptical about purchasing this product as I was looking for a smart speaker, but I'm genuinely impressed and surprised as to what an additional display would mean. Google is the number one when it comes to voice command and interpretation, so it goes without saying how amazing this works with recognizing voice commands. It is compatible with YouTube, YouTube music and Spotify, everything that I was looking for in a smart speaker. The sound quality is amazing too without any doubt. The Sleep Tracking still is a work in progress, I feel like it overestimates the hours for me a bit, but I'm sure someday it'll get there. I even have a smart bulb set up with it, and I really love the gestures settings, makes life a lot simple. Would definitely recommend!

Gets the Job Done
I bought this because I have Google nest wireless doorbells and this was the only way to get the doorbells to ring out loud. Without this, I was just getting notifications to my watch and phone, but they were not audible or timely. Now with this little buddy I get a nice announcement when someone rings the bell and a screen that shows me who is there. I also get added features that I did not want, like YouTube and Netflix on a little screen in my kitchen. I like the "Good Morning" feature, which I have customized to give me news from the sources I trust (the factory setting news sources were a little frightening). My complaints are that it crashes regularly. Much like Alexa and other smart devices it only knows what I am talking about or asking for 65% of the time. I can only get certain apps to work properly. My Apple Music app does not seem to get along with this and I can't get Apple Podcasts at all, which is a huge disappointment to me. Basically, I got what I wanted: a doorbell chime, a few things that I also like: the morning news and weather, a bunch of things I don't want or need: spotify, YouTube, other apps I will never use, all on a device that sometimes crashes and can't deliver any of those things. I wish there were a better way, but I'll take this for now. I recommend it to people who need a doorbell chime for their Google Nest Doorbell.
