Posted .Hi there, Tyler. Thanks for giving us feedback about the Nest Hub (2nd gen). We appreciate that you like it, and we hear your concern about the Google Assistant activating on its own when speaking with your phone.
If you’re near your Google Home device and phone, only Google Home should respond to ""Hey Google."" Both devices may wake up, but your phone should go back to sleep. It may be helpful to turn the microphone Off at the back of your display when not needed. Your Assistant will say whether the microphone is muted. Also, when the microphone is On, Google Assistant might activate even if you don't say “Hey Google” or “Ok Google” when it detects something that sounds similar.

A range issue or wireless interference can affect the performance of your display. Sometimes it may pass the connection test during setup, but will struggle to stay connected if it’s just a bit too far away. If your display is mounted too far from your Wi-Fi router, you may need to extend your Wi-Fi network’s range using an extender, boosters or additional Wi-Fi access points. Im very happy with it. Sound is good enough at low to moderate volumes and google assistant is much smarter than siri
