    Great gift

The display quality is nothing short of impressive. The visuals are crisp, and colors pop, making every photo a delight to view. The gift didn't just impress my girlfriend; her mom was equally amazed. In fact, she's planning to purchase the Nest Hub for her own house. The daily display of family photos has added a new level of connection and warmth to our living space.

Simple, easy to use, and convenient. I have this in my kitchen and I'm surprised how much I enjoy it. It's nice to have a running grocery list or set timers with. Or even use as a speaker or mini TV. No complaints.

I'm an android guy. Love google and this is right by my bedside and allows me to play YouTube while I'm in bed and listen to any podcast if you will to lull me to sleep. Super clear and high resolution. Loud as well. Google voice assistant is my go to as well. I had a Lenovo Google clock assistant and upgraded to this bad boy when it went on sale

    Nest Hub 7" Smart display

We got it to hook up our Ring doorbell. But the added benefit is it showing pictures from our favorite Google pictures files. Google information is good, but you need to ask the question precisely. It also frequently gives an answer by putting the links up on the nest - when we don't necessarily want to get up to go read it. We probably haven't really used all of its features yet

It isn’t everything it is cracked up to be. It isn’t shielded well against outside interference. I don’t think it has been hacked, but it flickers a bit. Poor WiFi hardware for 2023 devices? I don’t know. It hasn’t failed yet though. Other than that, I like it. I use it view my Nest Cameras on occasion. It’s more convenient than using the google app via phone. The bigger screen is worth 4 stars.

Noticeable Upgrade, Sleep Sensing is Interesting

I have been using the 2nd Gen Google Nest Hub for about 3 days now. I had a 1st Gen Google Nest Hub, so this is a side-by-side comparison. There are clear and noticeable improvements in responsiveness and audio quality. You can literally hear the difference in the voices, the 2nd Gen has a richer voice, and playing audio (Spotify) you do notice the improved bass. Google has also made some tweaks to the default sounds for alarms. The Google Nest does seem faster to respond to voice commands, maybe not enough to warrant an upgrade and that leads me to sleep sensing and Soli. The 2nd Gen Nest Hub has something called a Soli Sensor. It's not a camera and uses radio waves to both track your sleep and for quick gestures. You do need to face the Nest Hub at you while you sleep AND install the Google Fit app on your phone. You then get custom recommendations in the Fit app on everything that could impact your sleep. In my tests, it's interesting but it's honestly I doubt I will always use it. Apparently, I'm a light snorer (thanks Google!) and there are a few other temperature things that may be affecting my sleep. It's an interesting insight but I kind of feel weirded out with a Google radar-type thing monitoring me at night. I'm going to keep experimenting. I have taken off a star though because there's no hardware switch to disable the Soli sensor, you do it in the Google Home App and worry that I might turn it off for privacy reasons only for someone else to turn it back on. Plus I personally think all privacy options should be a physical switch. That said, I do LOVE the quick gestures that Soli powers where you can sort of high five in the air the screen to silence alarms (cool!) and pause media. The high five think makes the Nest Hub feel more like an alarm clock when you turn it off in the morning. I guess the TLDR version is if this is your first Nest Hub you won't be disappointed. If you're upgrading it's noticeable but maybe not worth it. If it's your second one, you will notice the difference and then probably want to upgrade every other one in your home.

I have been using the Nest Hub as a bedside device and I just love it. The sleep tracking features have really shed some light on sleep patterns and have been very interesting to explore. I love the option to play music or watch a quick video as well! The integration with my Nest thermostat is very nice as well. The sound quality is ok on this device, I would give 5 stars if it provided a little fuller sound but this device does so much already its hard to ding it for that!
