I purchased this for my parents to use as a photo frame so see their grandkids. Setup took a bit of time and was a bit more cumbersome as I set it up through a Chromebook and not a cell phone (my parents do not own a smartphone). Eventually I got it working (I am a techie as well), but took longer than expected. I ran through with them some of the things that can be done using Google Assistant, but not sure how much more than a photo frame this product will be used for. So far it as gotten rave reviews from Grandma on seeing the grandkids all the time!

Your mileage may vary depending on what you want to do with this but I wanted to use the Google Home Hub to replace my alarm clock. I loved the ability to display photos from my Google Photos account but that was probably the best thing it did, here are the issues that I had with it. 1. Never really stayed connected with my account, the weather sometimes didn't display during the photo slideshow, it wouldn't give me my commute info, and it always said that the voice recognition needed to be set up even though i did it multiple times. 2. Alarms would disappear. This was the main deal breaker. The alarms would stop displaying on the device but they still showed up in the Google Home app. 3. I had to either reboot or factory reset the unit multiple times for it to reconnect to everything. If I have to do that every day there is no point in keeping the unit. I really wanted this to work but I'm going to have to return it. Maybe it'll get better and I can revisit it later.

Just sitting in bed and being able to see the entire homes smart functions in 1 place is awesome!
