They really cut corners on processing power to keep the cost down.

The slow performance issue could either be related to a congestion or slow connection with your Wi-Fi network or a bug with your Nest Hub. We recommend removing some of your connected devices to free up some bandwidth space and see if you will get better performance using Nest Hub. If you verify congestion, please contact your Internet service provider for a possible upgrade of your bandwidth.
If you’re willing to try, you may also perform a factory data reset on Nest Hub. Keep in mind that this will erase all data on it, and that you may need to set it up again. To reset Nest Hub, check on the back of Nest Hub, press and hold both volume buttons together for about 10 seconds. Your Nest Hub will let you know that it's resetting.

Very limited on what it can do as opposed to being just a remote control with voice commands. Too many other expensive necessities (i.e. Hue Bridge, plug, light bulbs) to have lights turn on, off or dim. Sound is ok, not going to be a surround sound system or anything like that. For the most part, it's a calendar, appt reminder, clock/alarm w/soothing night sounds, recipe saver & can lookup asked for recipes & can show your personal pics as a screen saver.
