    The google home hub is a fun gadget. I had the Echo 2nd Gen and liked it better but this plays YouTube videos for recipes etc.

    I'm sick of Google requiring me to connect to their servers for basic things I don't need internet for. Such as turning off lights, or my TV, or asking the time. I have a stable internet connection, but once in awhile, it will say there's nothing connected or found, and request that I reset the internet. It's just so tiring being pushed and shoved to cloud only services that I really don't need. I mean, the speaker on this thing is so puny, it's not like I could actually use it for music. I have at least three Bluetooth speakers that would do a better job, and there's not really a way to connect them. If my phone is tied up, it can be nice to have it start some videos on YouTube or answer me a question, but for some reason it can't pull up actual web pages. So all in all, it's okay, but that's it. If I paid any more than $50, I'd definitely return it. Also, you can't set it up with a VPN. Like most companies, they don't want you anonymous so they can listen and watch you all day every day.

    The sound quality is not very good. The echo dot has better sound quality but overall I really like it. Use it every day.
