I used amazon echo, I found google home more easy to use.

Google Assistant is very disappointing. It has selective hearing. Right around last summer it stopped answering questions directly. I'd says "is it going to rain"? The response would be "it's likely or proabably". It restarted every morning around 2 am. ** It would say that it's not connected to the internet. When I open my wifi analyzer app, it looks like my Google Display is providing the internet... How is this possible? It's not connected, yet it appears to be a router that's providing internet on my wifi analyzer app. Wish I could use it as a sideshow for my photos ONLY.

Good enough as expected. But this day in age getting slightly long in the tooth. Should be going soon with full clearance price to be replaced. But if you can get it for bargain price, worth it as a digital picture frame.

Hardest part of use is getting it set up with other gadgets

Screen could be bigger for the price, compared to competitors with same Google software, but overall this is a nice hub for your smart home, and perfect for a second hub in like a bedroom. Wish it was bigger for settings like kitchen.

Smaller than I expected. But still works fine nonetheless

I have both the original Google Home, and the Google Home Mini, so when I set up the Google Home Hub, I thought I knew what to expect, which was basically a non-portable tablet on a speaker. Instead, this is more of the home control unit I always associated with the future. The interface is recognizable from the most recent iteration of Google Assistant. Smart lights and thermostats can be controlled from the main screen without having to run whatever proprietary app. I never have to wake it from sleep, it just hears my voice or even senses me walk past, and I get pertinent information instantly. I can check the time and weather just by glancing at it, instead of purposefully enunciating a vocal query and hope that the voice recognition algorithms are tuned well enough with that try that "what temperature is it outside right now" doesn't get confused with "wet umbrag your zit how tsai dry no?". Additionally, the screen displays the words as they are recognized (as well as who's talking, if you have multiple accounts connected to your home). The speakers don't sound nearly as nice as the ones on the non-display sporting units, less bass and there is an odd directionality to the audio. Despite being in the same room, since the unit wasn't facing me it sounded like the sound was coming from a completely different direction from the source. Fortunately, it can work in combination with the units with more robust sound, or connect to other bluetooth enabled speakers, so really the sound can be as good as whatever system you have setup. My daughter doesn't seem to mind the difference in sound qualtiy, but she's 4 and seeing the album cover for the song she's listening to seems to be more thrilling for her than the deep bass from whatever bleep bloop wubwub sounding band she discovered. I'm still learning the different things that the Google Assistant software can do, and am considering moving the device from my dining room to my kitchen to take better advantage of the recipe assist function. The screen itself seems like it would be too small to function well, but it's surprisingly adequate for its purpose. letting you fit it onto smaller ledges instead of having a large footprint, allowing more flexibility in where you can set it.

The display is what attracts me to get this product.

Pro: Google Home Con: Does not play nice with Alexa or spotify I was hoping I could use this to play music on all of my Echos. That's not an option. Spotify use is also limited, would be nice if I could use it to cue up stuff.

It has a learning process to it, but overall it is neat!

This was a gift to my daughter, and so far she likes it.
