Bad Product!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchase this product because I have the google nest wifi router, point and thermostat. So when I did my installation the 1st time the nest connect didn’t work, I tried debugging but no success. Therefore, I had to remove the Yale smart lock, nest connect, and replace it for a new one. Second time around I was able to do my setup w/o no issues but after 5 days I’m getting a “off-line” from the smart lock. Searching on “Google Nest Help” I see this is a recurring issue this product faces. Very hard to troubleshoot... do not recommend getting this product.

Posted .Hi TechDeveloper,
Thanks for your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that you're still facing connectivity issues even after having your Nest Connect replaced.
Disconnection may be happening because of the interference between your Nest x Yale Lock, Nest Connect and Wi-Fi router. We recommend placing your Nest Connect within 50ft. distance from Nest x Yale Lock and your Nest Wi-Fi router/point with a clear line of sight. This range could be shorter if there are potential sources of interference, either physical interference (thickness and type of walls, mirrors, windows, etc.) or competing signals (other wireless devices, microwaves, etc.).
If you have several connected devices on the Wi-Fi network, clearing up some devices on your Wi-Fi network to decongest any heavy traffic that's affecting your Wi-Fi bandwidth could also help improve connectivity. Once you confirm a bandwidth congestion exists, you may need to consult with your internet service provider for possible solutions.
We care about your experience. If you would like us to work on it further, please get in touch with us here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/contactflow

Posted .Hi Brad,
Thanks for sharing your feedback with us. We're sorry to hear of the connectivity issue with your Nest x Yale Lock and the lack of follow-up from our support team. We understand how important it is to keep your Nest x Yale Lock connected to Wi-Fi as it allows you to utilize many of its features.
Nest x Yale Lock can't connect to Wi-Fi directly, it comes with Nest Connect as a border router to connect the lock to your Wi-Fi network. Please make sure Nest Connect is set up and connected to your Wi-Fi and Nest x Yale Lock is connected to Nest Connect via Thread Connectivity. If you have already set up and established the connection with the Wi-Fi, we recommend ensuring the distance between the devices is not too far:
- If Nest Connect is too far away from your lock, your lock will be offline in the app but Nest Connect will be online.
- If Nest Connect is too far away from your Wi-Fi router, both Nest Connect and your lock will be offline in the app.
Even though you may have already contacted our support team, we're hoping you will give us another opportunity to help you with the issue to improve your experience. Please feel free to reach out to us again at Google Nest Help page: https://support.google.com/googlenest/contactflow

Not reliable
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went all in on Nest products and most seem to not be connected to the wifi almost half of the time. For the cost, I’d never go down that road again.

Didn’t work or connect
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Could not connect to nest. I have everything else connected to nest but this would not. Pretty tech savvy. Finally gave up and returned. Plan to find one will all same features but will also work with Alexa and Siri as well as google. Plus they are about $100 cheaper than this version.

Simple security!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have several other connected locks on my home but the Yale lock far surpasses the others not just on looks, I love the touchscreen keypad, but also on the ease of getting it installed. Directions are straight forward and if you are replacing an existing deadbolt, the install took about 5 minutes, no kidding! If you already have a Nest account, then you simply add this device to your account following the instructions. If you are new to Nest as I was, it come with Nest Connect module. Download the app on you mobile device and you'll be up an running in no time. Once you have the lock connected to your nest account, you do all "programming" from your nest account. The lock speaks to you so you will always know if there is a problem. Adding or removing a user access code is instantaneous and is a simple as adding a user and inputting the 4-8 digit code for them. You can even set it up so that certain codes only work during certain times of day or even expire at a time or date of your choosing. As for the operation of the lock, it is smooth and quiet and lets you know what is going on. I may be adding an additional lock in the very near future!

Absolute Garbage!!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I must have bought a defective item because I expected WAY better from Yale/Nest. The front and back did not align correctly so there was no way to install the lock to the door. I tried multiple times to get the front and back aligned but it was off by a fraction of an inch. The screws would go through the mechanism but failed to line up with the touch pad. It's going back and I'm getting the August. My gut told me I should have done this in the first place.

Horrible Lock Experience
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Terrible experience with this lock, I had a wyze lock prior to this one which I bought for $50 I used it for 2 years and never had any problems and the features were nice. I decided to upgrade to Nest x Yale Lock and it has been a nightmare. Does not work as advertised I am going to the store to swap it for a new one per instructions given me by their support.

Not worth the hassle
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I switched to Google Nest smart home products and was really excited about the Yale Nest Lock. Unfortunately I went through three of them over a month and none of them worked. I’m not an installation novice and I could not get the screens to light up. I even called their technical support with no luck. I eventually bought a Kwickset Halo which also works with Google Home.
