Q: If I already have a nest thermostat will this work with the existing nest hub?
A: The lock comes with a nest connect which connects it to your WiFi network. You can control your lock and thermostat from the same hub or app on your phone.
Q: How long do the batteries last typically?
A: This is all dependent on the amount of use the Nest x Yale lock receives in the home, but should be expected to last roughly one year if not more.
Q: Will the lock work without internet?
A: Wi-Fi connection is necessary for the setup of your Nest × Yale Lock. Although it doesn’t connect directly to Wi-Fi, it uses Weave to connect to a Nest Connect or Nest Guard in your home. Your Connect or Guard will then connect to your Wi-Fi network and communicate with the Nest app. Once your Nest x Yale Lock is all set, you’ll still be able to unlock your door with the keypad if the Wi-Fi goes down, but you won’t be able to use the Nest app to control your lock or change settings. Q: How long does the battery last with high usage
A: Great question! Battery life certainly depends on usage, but your Nest x Yale Lock will notify you via the Nest app when its batteries are getting low. A: As the inside portion of the Nest x Yale Lock is not weatherproof it cannot be used outdoors. The Nest Connect can be installed up to 50 feet away from the Nest x Yale Lock. If you have any other questions don't hesitate to reach out to our support team for further assistance. nest.com/help
Q: What happens if the internet and WiFi go down? How do you unlock the door?
A: You can still use the keypad if you have programmed access with no schedules. The master code will work with no WiFi, you just won’t be able to remotely open or track history.
Q: Does this work with Google Home?
A: Yes it does! You can ask google to check the locks from your room!

Get this lock!
Just get this already! What are you waiting for? This lock will give you such a peace of mind. The installation is super easy. You are provided with instructions on how to set up the app, videos to walk you through the installation of the physical unit, and tools to get the job done. Long gone are the old days where you leave your key under the mat. Who has time for that anymore? Nobody wants to walk around with a bunch of keys. This will save you so much time. I love how it also allows you to provide unique codes for your guests. You can choose when they expire or give them a permanent one. Even if your power goes out for whatever reason this lock is battery operated, so you won’t have to worry about not being able to get into your house. Give this lock a try you won’t regret it. Trust me when I say this is a winner.

Awesome smart lock!
The Nest x Yale - Smart Lock is everything we were looking for to make our home smarter. This device is the impeccable amalgamation of secure traditional mechanisms and modern intelligent technology. It’s not just a door lock, but a smart companion ensuring your home’s security is as robust and intelligent as possible. The associated app is user-friendly and provides a myriad of features and settings allowing for comprehensive control over access and security. You can create unique access codes, monitor entry and exit logs, and receive real-time notifications, enhancing awareness and control over your home security. The lock boasts a responsive and illuminated keypad, allowing easy and quick access, especially during nighttime. The integration of voice assistant technology adds an extra layer of convenience, permitting you to operate the lock through voice commands, a feature particularly helpful when you arrive home from the grocery store and your hands are full. Last but not least, the lock operates efficiently, with decent battery life, ensuring that frequent battery changes are not needed. However, a clearer indication of low battery levels would be beneficial to avoid any untimely lockouts; the prevent lockouts, Nest x Yale has a workaround that allows you to repower the device with a 9-Volt battery and allow yourself in.

Very slick and insane easy to aetup
Even though I had a friend who had a nightmare situation tryi g to install a smart lock himself - I went ahead and did it myself. I am very impressed at how easy this install was. I truly believe it has a lot to do with a very well manufactured machine. I didn't keep track, but I'm quite confident I had the old luck out and the new lock in place and online in less than 30 minutes. The only negative I can say is about the bulkiness. Small price to pay though for how great it looks on the outside. The profile is so flat and modern. The entire digital setup was well-guided with clear voice instructions - never once needed to deciate to any troubleshooting steps. Integration with other systems has allowed automation that was fully in place not long after the installation. Very happy so far with this purchase.
